  1. Not that Im aware of, the problems with Great Harwood are certered around the Showground. It all went to pot after a fire at "Monroes" which decimated their changing rooms meaning they had to fulfil the remainder of their fixtures elsewhere (effectively losing money every time they played).

They couldnt get any support from the FA as they didnt have the required lease on the ground and it would have cost circa £1m to buy the land and build dressing rooms.

  2. :rover: i wonder what will happen to the extra payment clauses in matt's transfer from gt.harwood now the club is defunct, the money rovers will no doubt owe them could get the club back on it's feet :brfc:

    They needed a million quid.

Matty's clauses are defunct, like the club.

Sad to say - Rovers couldnt have done anything to save them, shy of giving them Steven Warnock's transfer fee.

  3. ...and a much bigger difference between Dunn's idea of 'fittest ever' and 'Hughes standard fit'

I like the comments Hughes makes on the official site, along the lines of, 'It's the fittest I've ever seen David and we might be able to get him in shape to be involved in a few weeks or so.' i.e. 'Christ, I'd forgotten what a fat pig he is!"

    Liking the translation EIT!

  4. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I am that we pay money for the guy and he isn't even anywhere near the shape he needs to be to play. He had to know he was likely going to move somewhere (and likely to us) and should have gotten himself in at least enough shape that he could have played today.

Very unprofessional and I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

I think there is a difference between "fit", and "Hughes standard fit"

  5. Can we just have a minutes silence in respect for Peter Harrison, Lucas' agent. £60k a week and the option to walk away for nothing if Wham get relegated. Bravo sir. :tu:

It is also beneficial to West Ham as well, if they do go down they dont want to be spending next seasons TV income on Lucas Neill.

  6. Crikey Stu.

Heads I win, tails you lose.

Are West \Ham quite THAT desperate?

    Who knows!

If it is the case it perhaps clarifies why Lucas is giving them a whirl - no lose sitation. If they stay up and he stays for the next Premiership season and they dont fulfil promises of signings etc, he is then into the last year of his contract and may well do what he has done here.

  7. ...then who's going to be in for him in the summer?

Any prospective clubs will have to pay a substantial fee for him and the better clubs don't exactly seem to have been falling over themselves to sign him in this window when he's virtually free!

It is alledged that he can walk away as a free agent if they go down Rev.
