  1. I understand that Den, but why do you need to say it at all?

Because certain quarters are hailing him as the next Alan Shearer, a problem which exists whereby younger players are overhyped and then unavoidably fail to deliver.

Having seen Matt numerous times, for the reserves and for Great Harwood he delivers pace, awareness and vision.

His problem, and Ive said this for the past 2 years, is that he simply cannot shoot.

I have also said, that shooting is possibly the easiest of the above skills to teach.

But what do I know, Ive only seen him dozens of times, lets leave it to Wikipedia boy.

  2. Someone said in this thread that Birmingham and Rovers had entered into an agreement that he wouldnt play.....

    DAVID DUNN STATEMENT

dunnFurther to comments attributed to Steve Bruce in this morning's newspapers regarding the fitness of David Dunn, Birmingham City and the Blues boss would like to clarify the situation regarding the midfielder.

David Dunn is fit and has been so for a couple of weeks.

However following the player's recent comments indicating that he would consider a move back to the North West to be closer to his daughter and his family, the club admits that this could potentially be an attractive option for all concerned parties if the situation arose.

  3. 2 - When i said Nonda needed to go home, i wasnt only making a conclusion on his performance yesterday, i was also thinking of his other performances so far this season. He as looked average at best, and if we are going to build on yesterdays performance, we cant make do with 'average' players, only the best for our rovers! :rover:

So Nonda plays like a trooper for the rest of the month, having perhaps adapted better to the Premier League and puts in some very decent performance (like he did yesterday)

    We send him back?

    :wstu:

  4. Something that crossed my mind too. Apart from blowing his whistle a taj too long he got most things right and was a refreshing change from the over officious egotistical prats that we get every Saturday. We used to dread foreign refs in the 60's and 70's as they were petty and taken in by time waisters and divers. Now they are well in front of our shower. The guy flashed yellow for both time wasting and diving yesterday! How refreshing was that? :tu:

The 1994 WC in USA was the watershed imo, ridiculously stringent rules to accomodate a nation that doesn't bother much with football that everybody ignored once the WC was over....... except our lot who took it all in and adopted it hook line and sinker. I maybe being vindictive but it's so good to see that major tournaments usually end up with our refereeing representative making complete tossers of themselves and coming home in disgrace. :wstu::lol:

I think Im gooing soft or something.

Ive agreed with bluephil AND drog in the space of 24 hours.

    Call me a doctor.

  5. Well said . The number of useless high , long balls hoofed forward was an embarrassment to players aspiring to be premiership regulars .

Not only that but the ball control and passing of our lot was truly shocking at times . Add that to our inability to compete and battle effectively with the opposition (what used to be our strong point) and we have a very worrying situation .

The off the ball movement was non existent ; options for the man in possession therefore severely limited - yet these were supposed to be a team of players looking to carve a future in the team !

I am all in favour of new blood being thrown in to keep the regulars on their toes but it has to be said that none of those given their chance last night did anything to justify a place in the team on Saturday . Although , having said that , their isn't much to choose from the first 11 either way you look at it .

Savage and Neill were about the only ones who tried to play football last night . Mokoena had a decent 20 minutes at the start I suppose .....

This is going to hurt. But all bar the bit of Moko, I agree with you. :D
