I think that Hughes is a big fan of reviewing players based on training, so Pedersen is obviously not doing great in training and, i doubt Jansen is doing well, but players like Reid are doing well. but on a plus note, apparantly De Pedro is doing a lot better and was even given a rest this week, to have a fit and performing De Pedro in the team could really help the season progress, well if his still got it, he's only just 31 yrs old.

don't dare have humble anything yet, long long way to go, doing well against a good team and getting a single point, it typical of a struggling side, because its about consistency. I'm really not slightly excited by todays performance because it reminds me of Manu 1996 when the score was 2-2 and then we managed to go another 8-9 without winning. Consistency but at least Hughes has shown bottle in making chances, thats a good sign. I question whether Souness would have ever dropped Matteo

"Tugay - 7 - best performance for 2 years. Not too many faults for him today although some of his passing was poor: and you gave him only 7, what does that say about his performances over the last 2 years -
he's only young, give it time, as long as we are not losing

well predicted 2-2. but little optimism unless this standard can be maintained, Will Tugay play like that next week? probably not, and would put Dickov on in the last 30 minutes and not start him, because his scoring record's rubbish, and Bothroyd and Stead could be a potentially good partnership that needs a chance, 5 huge games coming up now, some 6 pointers -
complete midfielder, did he actually ever pass the ball forward

I think that Atkins is more a case of an average player surrounded by great players, making an average player a good player. he was in the right team at the right time, in the current team hewould probably struggle anyway I'd go for Sherwood, class player

not going to make a prediction because don't know what team he will play, if Dickov is upfront on his own I'll go for 2-0 to liverpool but if he gets the right players out playing well, I think it will be 2-2 -
you may get in trouble for not posting in the current Chelsea thread
-
I always thought Hughes was the wrong choice but will support him for now, he's been on a bad run of defeats for 2 and a half years so he got a lot to prove, but think he been thrown in the deep end a bit unfairly and he should have started wuith a stable div1 or 2 club but he's not going to be sacked is he, and I don't trust things getting better against Newcastle if he plays the same team against Liverpool that started Chelsea
-
yeah It's hard to admit but the current team is embarrassing, I have not felt so low as a blackburn fan when I saw useless Dickov upfront on his own on Saturday since 99-00 season, he sums up to me why we are bottom of the league.
-
everytime I see Ferguson play I always think, he out the door soon, I just know he is going to leave really soon, so its quite strange having him captain Anyway I think the players I would like/expect sold are Ferguson to Newcastle 8 million Amoruso to Rangers 400,000 Dickov to Doncaster 50,000 Gresko to an italian club 250,000

Hartson, Giggs, Davies, Earshaw, Speed, Savage, Bellemy, Jones, Delaney, Thacher. I think they were some of the best players Wales have had in years as a team, not bad resuurces i think but your right we have to live in hope, that someone with no experience as a league manager and a very poor international record of a total of 3- wins in 4 years can get a team out of a relegation battle. But playing probably the wrose striker in the league alone upfront who's average in this league is about 6 goals a season is probably not going to be the answer, hope he learnt his lesson, I saw it coming
-
1. Yes 2. No But that doesn't mean he shouldn't be given a chance. After all, just as Hughes hasn't impressed me as a manager yet, he deserves the chance to change that and he will. yeah but Hughes did beat Italy with Wales, still not qualify and then win one game in 2 and half years and leave Wales without any hope of making the World Cup, and that impressed you, so Pedersen should have allot of hope in impressing you
-
i think it was stupid, I'm really ######, Dickov is complete crap, I feared this would happen at the start of the season and it really is a nightmare come true, and extremely depressing, the sooner that little old man who can't get into the crapest Scotland EVER is out of our side the sooner I will have hope this season. Problem is Hughes has no experience in a relegation battle, he has far less knowledge then Bryan Kidd had and his record for Wales in the last 2 years is completely shocking, that's fact. Very worried because I have no idea what Hughes is going to do next.

it was something like one win in the last 2 years, it amazes me that the messageboard had such confidence in him, I'm still undecided -

No-one can be worse than Peacock, no-one! Dailly, mainly when you consider the price tag of 5.4 million as well, I hated that Bloke and even now West Ham fans boo him -

As are panic buys and persisting with players who are plainly crap!! We already know that certain players are not upto the job, so as we can't go out and buy anything making use of what we do have to hand makes sense - at the moment we have nothing to lose - do believe Spurs where in a similar sort of position with Ledley King - and look at how he has progressed now. Not a case of throwing everybody in at once but there comes a point where they have to be given a chance to achieve the supposed potential - and in our situation for some of our younger ones now is the time. Problem is players are good one week and then every one on here is going on about how amazing they are and need to pLay every week, everyone on here and maybe me too is guilty of picking a different starting line up every week. We rely too much on inconsistent players like Tugay, Amo, Emerton and other that have never been able to produce week in week out -

what makes you think that he can, Hughes has a record of about 1 win in the last 2 years and he has no experience in the PL, particularly in a very demandig relegation battle, I am sightly worried he does not know what to do -

If Dickov is our lone striker for the season then we deserve to go down, its such a depressing situation when Cole and Stead looked so good towards the end of last season, to go from that to this is the lowest of the low. Our future is stead, lets put some faith in him, he proved his class last season, once he gets one he will probably score a load, but we need to get the right players around him. -

again agree, Gresko is a poor left back, in a season I thik his mistakes would cost to team 8-12 points thought his mistakes alone, a very poor defender and the reason Souness gambled on Gray. Also not sure Neill has the positional sense to play CB -

although I agree with heeerbeeeergggeeeeehhhhh team, I wonder whether, (if we don't win in the next 7-8 games) that we should consider the side(similar) and formation that won 4 games in a row toward the end of last season, I hate to see it as its desperate and not attractive but it would be Friedel neill Todd/Amo Short Gray Flitty Ferguson Douglas (all defensive) Tugay (free to conrol the game and not defend) Stead Djorkaeff -

yeah I'd agree wth that, think Reid could do a job in the centre, its a gamble but then who else will play there anyway, Douglass, Flitty?????????. We need a mixture of youth and experience up front so I'd go for Djorkaeff and Stead and let Dickov do his headless chicken running in the last 30 minutes because we need Stead to gain confidence and not play a 32yr old striker that can't even get in the Scottish team and spent most his career getting relegated, wasting our money. Still have faith in Stead and him and Djorkaeff should provide the quality, touch wood!!!!! Total faith that partnership could keep us up I do wonder whether Matteo or Amo should be dropped its difficult, both not great -

I am certain that today, The headline on teletext would have been "Souness sacked by Rovers". That was the first thing I was thinking after the game, this is Souness's fault, these are his players, and now he's undefeated at Newcastle. Still think there is enough to stay up but its going to be acrap season, and hopefully it will be the younger talent like stead, Pedersen, Gally, Fergy, Tommo, I don't trust the old players are going to turn this club around.
