Are you taking the mick mate? WBA are bringing around 4,500 fans up so with this in mind you only expect 13,000 Rovers fans turning up? I would expect the same kind of crowd as against Wolves 1st day last yr. As for the game, i think it will be 2-1 to the Rovers with Amo and Stead on the score sheet -
Hi everyone, im in the U.S.A at the moment visiting friends and family so i couldnt get to the game at Preston y'sday. I was wondering how many Rovers fans were there in the end? I know we sold out our 1,000 allocation, but rovers fans could pay on the day. Does anyody know or perhaps hazard a guess on how many Rovers fans were at Preston?

Typical, its all gone quiet about that italien player now. Are we gonna buy him, are Blackburn gonna make any official statment about it? -
Looks like Souness agrees with me if you've seen that article in the Let. Thommo for centre mid next year!!

Linkin Park, the best band in the world

I think most people have got basically the same team with one or two changes. This is my team presuming no more buy's:- Friedel Neill Amo Matteo Gray Emerton Thompson Fergie De Pedro Stead Dickov/Jansen (not sure yet) I think we have a strong squad of backup players. Bench: Reid Tugay Short Gresko Gally Enks

Either this guy is looking for the wind up, or is seriously deluded. Is this the same Souness which not even bought in 4 non white players in Yorke, cole, reid and yedell but also ended Rangers disgraceful 100 odd years secterian policy of not signing Catholic players. Souness does not buy/sell on color, relegion but ability and work-rate.

While i did want Andy Cole to stay, he has had 2 very poor seasons for Blackburn. The first season he was amazing, 13 goals in 19 games to not only keep us in the prem (worth 20m), but also to win the worthy cup (5m). Since then he has been very ordinary. Just 13 goals the season after, in a team which finished in 6th place which was a poor haul indeed. Cole himself basically admitted that he was crap. Last season, he only managed 10 goals despite the fact he played every game he was fit in. So personnally, i wanted him to stay, but you can't blame either Souness or the board for wanting a change, not least cos of last 2 years of performance but also the chance to get his 60K a week wages off the bill (that is stupid money btw). If Cole tries to get more money off us in compensation, he will very quickly be made unwelcome by fans at Ewood Park.

Maybe that came out wrong. What i was basically trying to say is that i dont feel that Douglas (as the moment, not nessecarily in a coupla yrs) is good enough to play a full season of prem football. I have no problems with him as a player and in the future will be a real asset but for me, at the moment we have better options.

I think that most people would agree that 3 out the 4 places in midfield are already taken with Pedro on the left, Emo on the right and Bazza in 1 of 2 centre mid spots. However, we haven't really yet solved to who is gonna take the last place. Last season i felt that Tugay was off the pace and gave the ball all too often. He didn't turn it on enough, however im pleased he has signed a new deal. Flitty also was off the pace and the most major part to his game is closing down players and getting the tackles in. I dont think he can do that for a full season now at his age (32?). With this in mind and Douglas not yet good enough, why dont we try out David Thompson there. He is only 26 has the ability to get after players. He always puts in 110% and never shirks a tackle. He also has skill and a good pass on him and i think he should play in the centre mid with Bazza. This will take the pressure off Bazza as he wont have to get forward and defend trying to make up the lack of legs from either tugay or Flitty. Opinions anybody?

This situation is starting to get stupid, with the amount of games that sky have and the non 3pm kick off's on Saturday. I mean, why dont they use common sense? We have to play Saints away at 12.45pm. Our away support isn't exactly the biggest in the country but how are we meant to get down in numbers for that kind of kick off time when it is our longest trip of the season? Wouldnt common sense see it, to us having the 5.45 kick off time so enough of our fans can get down. Too many non 3pm kick off's for me, and this coming from someone who has only known football under sky so it not my tradition from the 'old days' or whatever.

Its all gone silent on the Matteo front, anybody got any updates?

Now that is something that i agree with!!

Vyeo, Butt is not coming to Ewood so you can take him outa your team. We don't need him we have plenty of other quality players and he is a waste at £7m Anyway, back to the subject at hand, of de pedro and its a excellent signing. He is a left footed winger who although not someone who is not gonna constantly beat the full back, will balance the team out. Last season it was so obvious that we could only attack down one flank (right). He is on a free transfer which means that funds can be spent in other ways (not butt). As for his age, he still has 2-3 good more years in him and btw is the same age as giggs who i don't think we would sniff at. Finally, if it all goes wrong, we have only paid his wages anyway and can't be another Grabbi. All round great business Souness.

[Archived] Paul Dickov Signs - Good Deal Or Not ?
BRFC4EVA replied to Baz's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
he only has to score about 3 goals for the deal to be worth it -
Seen in the paper today (Independant) that Yorke is pi$$ing of to some middle eastern country, thank God
-
Some people have got to remember that a 30yr old centre back still has probably at least 4 good yrs at the top to go. I think he would be an excellent signing especially at the quoted price, under a million? Good experienced centre back who has a good reputation despite leeds horiffic season.

How are the ticket sales going for this game? Hopefully we can fill our allocation, make aload of noise and once again embarras some very quiet home fans!!
