Where were all football fans before uncle Jack? 15,000 at n'castle now 50,000, not at all - I actually think the Geordies are the worst of the lot. Lived up there and they were all 'loyal' fans. On waiting lists and the full deal. I used to ask them where they were pre John Hall. Now I could be wrong but I thought your championship season crowds were circa 28,000 whilst in the 99/00 season they were actually only around 19,500. If my figures are right thats a 30% drop - so no most of them haven't stayed. Whats more you and I know that if you spend more than a year or 2 in Div 1 your crowds will drop further. Its amazing this all started because I offered you Jensen - all be it a little tongue in cheek Our average crowd when we won the tittle was 25,500, atually but the season after ie when the most glory hunters would have been we got 27,500 on, so i do take your point. However the point im trying to make is comparing us to other clubs our % knockdown from prem to div1 was actually very good. For example, for the average prem season Rovers attracted around 24/25K. On average over the 2 div1 seasons we averaged 20,000 (19,500 99/00 and 20,500 00/01) and if you compare that to 25,000 its not bad to only lose around 5,000 or 20% of your gate, due to relegation. Bolton had 16,000 in div1 in 00/01 yet average 27K now. Pompey 13K then, 20K now. In fact almost all clubs lose crowds when relegated and our loss must be one of the best. What im trying to say is why do you think we are the worst supporters of the lot? Most are far worst then us despite what you dingles say.

Where were all football fans before uncle Jack? 15,000 at n'castle now 50,000, 9,000 at chelsea now 42,000 yet you burnley fans think it is only rovers fans who picked up in the mid 90's. It was due to the time period and the state of English football and shouldnt crowds of 20,000 in div 1 (post Walker actually in the 00/01) show you that most of the Rovers fans from tittle winning days stayed loyal.

How many have we been given/ how many are left? -
Absolute classic!!

The classic dingle, always seems to forget that we averaged 20,000 whilst finishing in the bottom half of div1 in 99/00. When have/when will Burnley ever get that crowd in the same division? Answer: NEVER

Why are people getting so annoyed about the crowd that turned up? Its what i would usually expect for a game vs a oppostion either from london like palace or fulham or the south, like saints or pompey. I think its important to remember that against wba we have 23,500 on, with 4,000 from wba. It take into consideration the the 1,000 travelling pompey fans, hey presto its about the same crowd (in terms of rovers fans.) -
Atually no, liverpool, maure, n'caslte, saints, fulham and a number of other clubs have a quieter home support than us. We make a good noise in general esp when you consider we only have say 21,000 on instead of 42,000 at say chelsea.

There a coupla postives which i have managed to drag from this dreadful result. 1.) Emerton was again superb, setting up 2 and scoring himself. He has been our player of the season so far, and im desperate for him to be fit for charlton 2.) MGP, played quite nicely and scored a good goal which should help his confidence. 3.) We didnt actually lose, we drew (boy am i clutching at straws) 4.) Jansen worked hard but should have scored 5.) It was a reserve team As for the negatives, there are too many to list including how we managed to concede 3 goals to a league 1 team. If we played arsenal and scored 3 i wud expect a comfortable 3 points.
-
Quite farcical. 2 shots two goals. Still if we have to have 'one of those games' then it can at least be in the cc 2nd round.
-
ffs, Bournemouth havent had a shot on goal since the '13' minute when they scored yet its still somehow only 1-1 . Chance after chance is going begging and it seems that Emerton is having a cracker. 10 mins to go

Oh, i presume you mean the same competition where you actually lose money by being in the 1st round and its not until later rounds that you make money (of course a big draw changes this). This also the same competition where after playing in the uefa cup in midweek we then lost twice at home the following sunday (everton and spurs). Considering we only lost 3 at home in the entire season.... However, i am not taking Souness side as i actually agree with you, i firmly believe that we should play every game hard and try to win as much as possible. The point im just trying to make is that if you consider it from the board/ souness point of view (playing in a comp where you lose money and league form suffers) maybe you can understand it a bit more

The usual hypocritical nonsence, but on whole yeh, good song i certainly liked it.

It was an excellent article in the times today and it looked like he had really earned the respect of people in seria a. Sections of the story such as Shevchenko (spelling?) wanting to exchange shirts with him and Maldini saying that J.B is a great prospect, tells me that perhaps we have a gem who is just waiting for the right manager to unlock his obviously considerable talents. Enter Sparky -
Time is the key point here fellow Rovers. He needs to ajust to the English game and playing against the likes of bournmouth can only help his development. Im gonna wait a whole lot longer until i judge MGP and Emerton is only starting to come good now!!!

LOL, what a brilliant comment . Anyway, a priceless win y'sday in a game where result instead of performance mattered. The 2nd half was very postitive but we did that under Souness also, just playing for 1 half. If Hughes can get us playing for a full 90mins than we can really start to go places. I happy for Hughes, great substitution for Jansen and delighted for him. We love him and he loves us. Superb As for Boythroyd, ive never seen such a 2 footed player in my life, does anyone know actually what his fav foot is? -
Finally, the game ive been so looking forward to is around the corner. Honestly, i can't wait, for the following reasons:- a.) A chance of a sub 10k crowd. Whooo b.) No more then 500 bournmouth fans. c.) A cold wet wednesday night. d.) Lose lose situation for Hughes and Blackburn e.) And finally the dingles have a crap draw and i wanted them in the next round. In all seriousness, desipte the above sarcasim i would like to see Stead play, perhaps grab a couple to boost his confidence and then play Jansen and Boythroyd up front together. Also continue MGP addaption to the english league. Rest Dickov, Emerton, bazza and a couple of others. Oh yeh play gally also. Easy win 3-0 to the Rovers

ive got to be postive, what with the new manager. I think it will be a 3-1 Rovers win in front of around 21,000. I hope for a sensible tean from Sparky and will be interested in MGP performance, this is his first real game in which Blackburn should have at least 50% of the posession and are under pressure to get forward, which should give him a bettr chance. De pedro needs another go to. -
Very true, noone else does care about your no-name band, esp when you cant appreciate great music like linkin park. Linkin Park are hardly exponents of 'great music.' Ok, they're pleasant enough to listen along to and the Reanimation album was superb (and heavily produced) but you really ought to get out more, or listen to some Led Zeppelin. You're bound to have heard of them... Hey where has RoyRover gone, everyone is ganging up on me about Linkin park lol In response to you Rovermatt, less of the patronizing bs please. Of course i know who Led Zepplin are, arent they the lastest boy band from fame academy? Actually, i like chillie peppers, REM, Nirvana and Queen also, just that i rate Linkin Park superior to any band at the mo. And lastly, my social life is great thanks, so i do get out enough.

Your a disgrace in my opinion. You should support the team no matter who is in charge you fairweather supporter. You take Rovers for granted, yet there are so many (like myself) who would love to be able to get to see Blackburn every other week. Take a look at Roversworld and watch the brfcn.com lads travelling all the way from oslo for a match, yet you cant even be bothered to get to Ewood and you live in Blackburn. V.poor

Which album, Hybrid Theory, Reanimation or Meteora? I have all of them and think that Linkin Park are excellent and are one of my favourite bands. Just don't get Radaghast going about them. Linkin Park are my fav band and the one of the best bands in the world at the current time. I was listening to the cd 'live in Texas' which is a mix of their best songs from both H.Theroy and Meteora. The best of both worlds!! best bands? my arse! MUSE MUSE MUSE Muse, who are ya, who are ya, who are ya!! lol No, actually they are very popular now and they have a coupla good songs. However not in the same league as Linkin Park Linkin Park = Blackburn Muse = Burnley

Don't you just love the contradictions (see 1st 2 stories). I thought sky was not like 'the sun' and respectable lol. http://skysports.planetfootball.com/club.asp?clid=5&cpid=8

What's the point in commenting then? I'd thought i'd share a piece on information on a new player and i get slagged. What a welcome. Why do people want to know if Henry's fast? What if he is "totallt sh1te at playing football"? Stamina IS and will be an important asset. But if you want me to give you his playing abilities in an overview in one post, sorry, i cant help you. Don't take it personally mate, some people on here seem to think that burnley fans are throughout this board, what with the responses you get. Any more info on mgp that you have i and i presume almost all Rovers fans would be happy to hear.
