  1. Judging by Rovers over-the-top reaction to Mr Jackson, he knows it all....first team starters, the lot! 😂
  2. Yes, you are right, however, even if the budget doesn’t change, I still think this can help the club in other ways like continuing to build our academy reputation and encouraging young players to come through the system and want to stay with us instead of jumping to the first club that comes along that offers sparkly shiny things. Hopefully, that kind of progress benefits the club even if we don't see a penny of any bonus clauses. Again, as mentioned by another person, at a normal club that would happen but this is Rovers 🤣
  3. Whether it’s a fee for a competitive appearance or a starting bonus, any money coming in feels like a bonus. For me, I just love seeing Adam on the big stage. He’s earned it, his family has earned it, and so have we as supporters. Hopefully, the club benefits too. The more young players see talents like Wharton coming through our system, representing the club, and then progressing to bigger opportunities, the stronger we’ll become as a club.
  4. He has had an achilles injury and has been injured a lot, so would fit right in with us again.
  5. In business, it’s common to see companies make symbolic moves such as selling off assets to create the impression of meaningful change, even when they know the financial impact will be minimal. Often, these actions are more about optics than substance, aimed at signalling commitment to improvement rather than delivering real results. I wouldn’t be surprised if selling Blackburn becomes part of this strategy in the future, framed as an effort to avoid sinking another £200m+ over the next decade with little to show for it. The fact they’re currently trying to sell to generate cash suggests this could be a way to offset existing losses. However, once they realise there’s little left to liquidate, the focus will likely shift to selling to the highest bidder. Let's hope someone is in the Rao Family's ears suggesting this sooner rather than later!
  6. Just playing devil’s advocate here, but if I were a professional player at Rovers earning a substantial salary, having meals prepared for me, enjoying top-class facilities and a great changing room I’d probably be so deep inside that bubble that it would be hard to truly understand things from a fan’s perspective. They definitely wouldn't understand the sacrifices fans make to follow the team, whether from a financial and/or time perspective. If the situation were different i.e. say the owners stopped paying wages, players had to wash their own kits and bring packed lunches then maybe they’d feel closer to what fans experience. But in reality, there’s a huge gap between players and supporters. We often assume we’re all in it together, but the truth is, players probably don’t care that much unless something directly affects them.
  7. That was absolutely brilliant to watch. We need to see our legends play more often.
  8. Or at least loaded up after the game for fans that either couldn't attend or had to leave at the end of the Derby game.
  9. Is the anniversary legends full game available to watch anywhere?
  10. I am going to be over positive and say a straightforward 2-0 win. The Iceman and his Axe with the goals.
  11. They could have sold team spots on a reformed Blackburn Olympic, which could have then continued afterwards as a proper team - would have been pretty fun to watch. I'd rather watch a legends game against fellow fans than a group of veterans of another team.
  12. Has anyone told Old Etonians that they're playing us? I'll admit to only having a quick check but found nothing on any of their socials 😂
  13. Absolutely spot on, and a big yes to the BRFCS version. That’s exactly the kind of shirt I was hoping for! It's sad that the club didn't listen to the fans - they'd have got it right. I even remember the Rovers shop selling similar adult pyjamas about ten years ago, which would have been a better option!! I’m not trying to dismiss our history - the founding years are, of course, a vital part of the club’s identity - but if you’re going to celebrate that heritage, at least do it with a shirt that fans can instantly recognise, especially since none of us were around in 1875. It’s also a great opportunity to sell loads and bring in much-needed revenue for the club. And maybe don’t wear an all-white kit when facing Derby, who also are well known to play in all white! 😂
  14. I’d initially heard it could be a long-term setback, so it’s a relief that things aren’t quite as bad. The international break definitely works in our favour. One encouraging sign is Pears’ eagerness to get on the pitch the moment the injury occurred. That kind of hunger shows he’s driven to play and likely keen to silence any critics. He clearly sees himself as the rightful number one, so let’s hope his performances back that up. It also works in his favour that he can now focus on preparing to start matches rather than warming the bench each week. I imagine he’ll be buzzing in training, full of confidence. Saying that, let's hope Toth returns quickly and injury free. He's been brilliant so far and hopefully continue his form when he's back.
  15. Just my opinion but if we played 140+ years in blue and white. Let's have blue and white as a shirt on the 150th year anniversary. It’s like someone organising my funeral and needing a photo to represent my life, and they choose a picture of a girlfriend I dated for a year instead of my wife of over sixty years. Utterly baffling. 🤣
