[Archived] Away Shirt On Sale On Saturday

Those 2 both Lesucked LeChuck. A. the badge is in the wrong place. B. we're not tennis balls. C. we're not the Essendon Bombers. Some form of red & black with the badge on the left is the way to go. If you're against those sorts of things, well, too bad. You're way outnumbered in Roversland on each choice. You do, however; seem to have some "friends" in the offices at Ewood. I apologize if you consider that an insult. -

Uh Aggy; I'm not sure what you're talking about. But if my guess is correct, here's my answer: Blue is darker than white. Black is darker than red. Consequently the colours are on the appropriate sides. -

The Worst England World Cup Performance Ever.
doctorryan replied to Mr Maureen's topic in World Cup 2006
Gee; I thought it was when you guys lost 1-0 to us. -
Much more than a bit. It was definitely designed to amuse those who don't care, not to upset or get a rise out of those who do. Oh boy, where do we begin? First of all; most of my fellow citizens don't "get" football (association) and in order to appreciate any sport (or anything for that matter) you have to "get it" on some level. So therefore I wouldn't waste any time or energy worrying about what most Americans, scribes or otherwise, feel about football. Enough of us do care, so much so, that our TSTs sold out immediately through both FIFA & the USSF and that small bunch of lads we're traveling to follow only happen to be rated top-5 in the world. And Jim, while it is true that many Americans aren't to aware of the world outside the US, certain people have historically kept doing things outside our borders to remind them. Like, oh, say a couple of world conflicts, neither started by us, both avoided by us as long as was possible, but ENDED by us.

This is a public board Tony D. People can come here and read posts even if they're not registered. It's a public record out there for all to see. Which in this case makes it a good thing for you that one can still maintain a certain amount of anonymity. DaveyB, thanks for backing me up. Make myself look daft, huh. The advantage rule(& please correct me if I'm wrong Davey) is found in FIFA's Laws of the Game, Law 5. I'll just paraphrase the good parts: 1) The referee allows play to continue when the team against which an offense has been committed will benefit from such an advantage and penalizes the original offense if the anticipated advantage does not ensue at the time. 2) a referee is not obliged to stop the play to show a card because if he has already clearly shown that he is playing the advantage rule, he can wait for the next stoppage in play to do so. Please Tony, understand the laws.

But Eddie he did stop the goal, which left him with no wiggle room to do anything other than show the red. What he should've done was not blown the whistle, let the goal stand and then send the prat off for a professional foul. Incase the "he" Eddie is referring to is the prat himself instead of the ref; the fact that he didn't stop the goal doesn't figure into it. He took a guy down by cupping his hand or grabbing him at the ankle. Whether that was done on purpose or not; that is a red card if it's seen by an official. This one was.
-
It was a professional foul speeeeeeedie. You don't like that being pointed out, too damn bad. Who would have won if it remained 11 v. 11 is irrelevant. It was 11 v. 10 and that's the way it should have been.

Some things need to be cleared up here. 1: Lehmann had to go. Period. End of discussion. If it had been Rovers vs. Gunners in a cup final & Bellars had been the victim the reaction here would have been hysterical; using both meanings of the word. 2: It IS within the referee's discretion in this case to allow the play to continue, count the goal & then pull out the red card (which is what should have happened). Last man does not even have to come into the equation. The goalkeeper pulled a player down, whether intentional or not, outside the 18 yard box. That's a red, and that's that. The ref then allows the advantage to be played. For those of you who were more interested in a night's entertainment than seeing that the deserving team won: "Go watch clowns."

Well then; we better tell Friedel, Nelsen, Mokoena & that Neill fellow to go the hell home then.

How a seat can be regarded as Category-1 & obstructed at the same time I'll never know.

Rovers 2-0 Man City By Roversnet -
Look back 3 pages.

The best result would be Spurs finishing fourth, the Gunners losing 10 days later and then Spurs getting knocked out in the qualifier.

Wow. Since all the way back in 1863, huh?

Landing the 10th in Frankfurt and staying in Wiesbaden. We have tickets to all US matches up to & including the semi-final and will be in-country for the duration of the US team's involvement.

We'll give you one chance to explain what this means before we verbally tear you to pieces (with good taste and style of course); both in reference to USABlue & a certain goalkeeper. Oh, what is his name.........?

[Archived] Portsmouth 2-2 Rovers
doctorryan replied to Tango's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
If you're in the UK (but not in Portsmouth or at a pub with an illegal feed) and can't see this, be thankful. It's the worst 45 minutes of football we've played in a long time. Bellars' goal was spectacular, but it was all him, and outside of the admiral and Brad everyone else seems lost. Sav is playing on eggshells to avoid the yellow (he should of sat today) and Dickov is nowhere to be seen. Tugay should've started today and where the hell is Flo. We really should be down 3-1 at least. It absolutely breaks my heart when I think of the way things have fallen, but unless something unforeseen happens in the second half; our quest for Champions League football is over. -
