Whoever we sign for money, I would like Cole to return to the club. He is easily good enough for 10 goals a season. Maybe 15 at a push, depending on who plays alongside him.

They dont want to break the wage structure. Im guessing they will make up the 10k or so by adding it onto the signing on fee. Also, I really really doubt that Gerrard is moving because of money. I think its out of ambition.

any team with an Intertoto campaign usually starts the season on fire, but fades out quickly towards the end. cant see success for them, if they are starting in June with pre-season, etc... All this at the start of a world cup year!

Disappointing result against THAT team. This might be the first match this season that we scored the first goal but lost, if im not mistaken. Oh well. I cant see us picking up more than 3 points from the last two fixtures. I reckon it may be enough to keep us 13th place ahead of Newcastle. At least Stead scored again.

Pedersens contributions over the last few games havent been much? He opens scoring against Southampton. He scores only goal against Crystal Palace. So in the last two games that Blackburn have scored, MGP has scored. Not enough?

The lack of cutting edge showed for us. We just dont have the quality to open up teams and score, especially against the better sides. As soon as we concede the first goal, its almost sunk in that we wont score. But, I cant fault anyone for work-rate, brilliant from all of them. We need a couple of strikers and a quality midfielder.

Hopefully we will keep this neat unbeaten run going on to keep the momentum for Cardiff.It would be great to pick up a few more points before the semi-final to guarantee staying up.

Luckily MGP's day off was an away match to Liverpool where we had set our stall out and wouldnt really realistically expect more than a point and not a 6-pointer at home!

On a side note when Matteo came on my heart stopped and he had a couple of moments which i thought he would do us.

Brilliant defensive performance! 1 year ago we would have been caned in such a game, and we would have given away cheap goals. We lost 4-0 last season iirc. We shouldnt be disappointed with 1 point even if we had sat and hoofed the ball upfield for 90 minutes, because no one really expected 1 point from this game. Im delighted with the defensive performance BUT as someone else said earlier with the same mindset and formation I cant see us beating Arsenal and if we concede a goal against the top teams with this system, I cant see us coming back in it.

United and Arsenal only have the cup to play for and you know they will play all their players so that they dont end the season empty handed. I cant see us beating United at all. Arsenal is too iffy,maybe if they stay out of form with some injuries. Newcastle is our best chance,but they seem to be on form now and I can just see Souness taking them to the final. Whoever we meet, we are underdogs.
