  1. I'll answer your question Sam. Keeping Todd is the best way for the club to progress and he is a better player than Upson.
  2. Has he actually done anything since his arrest at Birmingham and his pledge to become a new man?
  3. A combination of Pennant and Pedersen on the wings next season would be absolutely superb! I really, really hope that they get relegated.
  4. Ambrose is definately a player I would like to see at the club. But I don't think he is really in the mold of Tugay at all.
  5. 1 - 1 in a game where we dominate but fail to convert our superior possession.
  6. I think it is far more prudent to use Dillo Dillo's excellent tables when predicting the final positions of teams. Bolton have three horrible fixtures coming up, but I still have them as finishing 5th. Rather than reacting to results that were probable in the first place, a lot can be revealed when a surprise defeat or victory occurs. If Bolton win one of their next three matches then they will almost certainly achieve 5th place IMO, and maybe even 4th.
  7. I would love to see Emre at the club. He is a top, top player. I cannot see it happening though. For a start he's probably being paid double that of our highest earner.
  8. 1) Of course winning is what the fans want. Is that not what all fans want? But it is not all we want; we want to win with passion and style. But that does not make defeat any more disapointing. 2) History will only recall the score. Few will remember what a good game this was and we needed the points. This doesn't mean that the fans are emotionless or passionless. 3) Who are we, as paying fans, who give up a lot of our time and give our everything to support our team, to criticize a team of freakin FOOTBALLERS, most of which have little affinity with the club? In any other profession an employee that underperformed would be out of a job. We are well within our right to criticize the players as we are the ones that pay their cheques! 4)I don't really understand your point.. We are showing favouritism to the opposition? I don't think so somehow. 5) Excusing the poor grammar in this point, give Emerton, a man who has consistently underperformed for more than two seasons, a break?! You have got to be kidding! No, we don't expect him to get miraculously better over night; we expect nothing! "slowly getting better," is little consolation. For the record, I thought he had a pretty good game on Sunday. We are all proud to be Rovers supporters, especially right now. We give the club our support week in, week out. We love the club, we support the club, but that doesn't mean we won't criticize when criticism is due. I don't think there is really much to criticize from Sundays game, but it is well within our rights as loyal fans!
  9. I really hope the FA cup does go in our favour, because I just can't see us getting beyond Arsenal, Bolton and now Spurs, after todays result.
  10. Too true - all we need is for Bellamy to pick up another injury and we'll probably fall out the top 9.
  11. Come on guys, we were never going to get 4th. However, I have Spurs down as finishing 6th and to have beaten them could have secured us European football. I still think we will finish 7th, but will be a fair way off European qualification. I think people need to prepare themselves for the intertoto and some disapointment.
  12. A few observations: I haven't seen bentley play for a little while now and he is looking a very accomplished player - I am very much coming round to him now. Secondly, Emerton was far more direct in his play and is fighting for his life at the club.
  13. Argh, gutted. We deserved the draw. I had this down as a Spurs win anyway, but a draw would have closed the gap with Spurs by 4 points, based on my predictions.
  14. Maybe not as high as 4th, but maybe high enough to top us.
  15. Good news that Bolton lost and West Ham drew. In my end of season predictions, the final places are dependent upon West Ham and Bolton draws today. I have Bolton finishing about 5 or 6 points ahead of us and every point they drop counts.
  16. I think it sounds a great idea mate. The club isn't going to track down one American guy who has decided to make his own merchandise with no intention of reproducing it. Go for it I say!
  17. It's been about 2 years since I built my last pc but those specs look very good and the price seems good as well. Don't rely only on me though!
  18. Looking at the teams below us, this is the order I think the top half of the table will be come the end of the season. I think it is very likely that we will finish between 7th and 9th and a single point could be the difference. Chelsea Man Utd Liverpool Arsenal Bolton Spurs Blackburn West Ham Wigan Man City
  19. It would take an amazing run of form to get 4th place. I really cannot see it happening and I think that people are dreaming if they think a 4th place finish is realistic. I think a small gap will open up between the top 6 and 7th, 8th and 9th place. I think a finish in this region is most realistic. My calculations have us finishing one point above West Ham, although I didn't take Wigan, Man City or Newcastle into acount, who could easily creep in to that group. As our fixtures appear to be the easiest of the top 8, I think 7th place is our most likely final league position
  20. I'm really glad that we bought him before his hattrick against UTD and his two goals for England. Otherwise his value could have doubled.
  21. My latest predictions have Arsenal a comfortable 4th, Spurs in 5th, Bolton 1pt behind in 6th, us a little way behind in 7th, and West Ham just behind us in 8th. I can't predict exact points, but that is my impression looking at the fixtures. I also see it coming down to the wire with West Brom and Birmingham and the match between the two will be vital. If West Brom do not win, then I have Birmingham down as survivors. I also think that Wigan are very much in the race for Europe. Looking at our fixtures, I see Middlesbrough, Wigan, Portsmouth, Charlton and Man City as very difficult games and possible defeats or draws. 1 defeat in 11 is pretty unrealistic IMO. So that's... 4th Arsenal 5th Spurs 6th Bolton 7th Blackburn 8th West Ham / Wigan
  22. I just don't share peoples enthusiasm and I disagreee with those that say Wigan adn Man City will fade away. We will finish somewhere between 4th and 10th but I think it'll be closer to 10th.
  23. How did you manage to predict the whole league? I only seem to be able to predict the next round of fixtures...
