  1. I couldn't disagree further. He is obviously fourth in the pecking order at Ewood and barely featured in a 3-0 first round cup win. Even if two of Kuqi, Bellamy and Dickov were to be injured at the same time, Hughesd would probably revert to 4-5-1 or Jansen would only be given a couple of games at most until they returned. I would say that when Johnson returns, even he wil be higher in the pecking order. It hurts me to say it, but Jansen doesn't have a future at the club. A real shame, because he is acertainly a better option than both Dickov and Kuqi, in my opinion.
  2. I remember buying Fifa 2004 for a 10er or something, playing it for 10 mins and thinking I'd made a huge mistake, playing it for another 20 and thinking it the worst football game ever made. Since then the only football game I will even look at is Pro Evo. Am yet to get 5, but it is on the christmas list.
  3. I wasn't asking because I wanted to watch it on sky, I wanted to know if the dates had been released on sky sports, or anywhere else, so I can arrange to come home from uni.
  4. Sky Sports have said what week the game will commence, but does anybody know whether they have announced what day as yet?
  5. I can't really fault Brad for the free kick. As a keeper, it happened to me a few weeks ago and it really is a nightmare situation. However, his narrowing and closing down has been particularly suspect and he doesn't collect enough crosses, but you can't ask everything from him. He's still a very good keeper.
  6. I'd say God is toying with him somewhat; injure every one of his first team players, turn refs against him, and have him lose several games, then, just when it looks like he'll be sacked, put him on a winning streak. I don't know how he manages to be so lucky, yet so unlucky at the same time.
  7. Yes. Well, that is provided you are being sarcastic, but it's just occured to me that you might not have.
  8. Sorry, nothing wrong with your post, but it's spelled "lager," not "larger."
  9. Omg, that is a scary resemblance. I never thought of it until now. But the prgramme was rubbish
  10. Sorry Phil, have been pretty busy recently and have fallen behind with both teams updates.
  11. 1-1 after 90 minutes with a winning goal in extra time. I can see Hughes resting our better players and getting punished for it when we have to bring them on anyway. This isn't a bad Leeds side and we need to respect them. I would play the following team: Friedel Neill / Zurab / Todd / Gresko Thompson / Tugay / Mokoena / Pedersen Jansen / Kuqi
  12. EDIT: Difference was that Kuqi's shot was well, well off target and completely mis-hit. Bellamy's chance was slightly more difficult and he made a better fist of it than Kuqi.
  13. For all the hard work and running Kuqi and Dickov do, they will never have the quality required to score enough goals in the premiership. Their finishing is pretty poor. I agree AESF that Kuqi's shot was awful, but it wasn't from a good angle and I would be surprised if Bellamy could have scored from the same position.
  14. While I am not doubting his ability to play as a midfielder, I would prefer having him back as a striker - I thought he had a lot of potential.
  15. Bellamy and Dickov are both fiery, pacey strikers, who do not hold up the ball or win headers but run off the main man and cause trouble. I guess you are right though - Dickov tends to run around like a headless chicken, whereas Bellamy makes intelligent runs. Bellamy has everything Dickov has and a lot more on top. Personally I do not think Dickov is a good penalty taker - almost always the keeper guesses the right way and he virtually never puts any power on the ball. Today he did the right thing in shooting down the middle, but usually he doesn't. Not that that makes a player a bad penalty taker though. Dickov had a good all round game, and I am not doubtuing that he isn't a decent player, but his finishing is pretty poor for a striker and if he continues to miss very good chances, then I will stand by that. In terms of the two chances, I would say Dickovs was perhaps the harder, but both should have been easily finished.
  16. If Dickov hadn't have scored the penalty today I think he would have been remembered for his pretty poor miss in the first half. He and Bellamy are similar types of player, but the difference is that Bellamy is an assured finisher and Dickov is far from that. I think a fully fit Bellamy will make a huge difference. This aside, I thought it was a very good performance. The passing in midfield is far quicker and more incisive than at any time last season and we have a more attacking edge now. I also thought Bently was disapointing today and does not look like a right midfielder what so ever.
  17. Owen That's another player to add to Newcastle's injury woes, all be it for a small amount of time. Surely something is going horribly wrong in terms of the medical and physiotherapy side of the club?
  18. Whatever happened to that enquiry Fat Freddy was going to make into the shamlbes of a physiotheropy department the club has. No one club can have the number of injuries and recurring injuries that Newscastle have had. Something must be wrong - is it Souness making players return before they have fully recovered or letting players play on despite feeling something whilst playing? Or is it that the clun physio and doctors are entirely incompetant? With a team of fully fit players I think Newcastle could do very well and should be challanging Liverpool for fourth place. I still think Souness is a good manager but a little misguided in his approach to playing players out of position and could easily get sixth place with a full strength line up.
  19. Maybe if Savage had horribly broken his leg and thought his career might be over at the young age of 24, only to have the fans taunt him for it, then maybe that would be a fair comparison. Cisse was right to incite the fans today and, if he had have scored against any other club I would have been delighted for him. He looked a litle rusty today but the man is a class act and far and away Liverpools best striker.
  20. Just seen the penalty decision on MOTD and it was never a penalty, nor a sending off. He just about took the player down, but he was running away from the goal and Nelsen was covering in the centre. Saying that, just after Warnock won a free kick, he ran into the box and was taken down by eitehr Gray or Pedersen, but nothing was given.
  21. Considering the opposition in the majority ogf games, it's hardly that impressive. On so many occasions the players have played well and we have gone ahead, but Erikkson has played stupidly defensive tactics and we have come away with nothing. Now he just seems to want to play as many people out of position as he can. The guy is an absolutely inept manager.
  22. Very much in agreement with that. Sir Bobby is not attached to any club, has managed the country before and is a man that would instantly win the fans and players over. I say we get him in as soon as possible and keep him until he decides to leave. I didn't watch the match tonight - I haven't watched any England matches for a year or so now - but tonight was just the same old story of inept management and players not giving enough for their nation. An utter disgrace.
  23. Watching Stead play for Sunderland on football first and he looks very impressive at the moment.
