  1. He's contemplating life as a house husband with his family. don't you read the Times?
  2. 'A northern horde of uncouth garb and strange oath'. .....ah well, nothing changes.
  3. It would be handy to know the proposed opening times, under the new licensing laws, of the many pubs mentioned in this thread, for lunchtime kick offs.
  4. Does anyone know the specific contribrutions made by each of the outgoing directors? Were these portfolios originally correct: Iain Stanners - ground. Keith Lee - commercial. George Root - financial. Should Rob Coar have demonstrated a more visible and audible performance as Chairman of high profile organisation?
  5. What do you call a balanced diet in Wigan? A pie in each hand. I thank you.
  6. To see so many police officers on the streets of London and at suburban railway stations has been very reassuring. Up to 5,000 offficers, many armed, at any one time with only 150 reportedly drafted in from home counties forces. Clearly vast amounts of paperwork and form-filling have been put to one side to facillitate this show of strength. Isn't it time that police paperwork was permanently reduced to put more bobbies on the street?
  7. There might be a local connection here. Can anyone confirm that Eddie Tudor of said Tenpole Tudor fame lived for a while in the deck access flats at Shadsworth?
  8. One tune will never satisfy most of the fans - this thread proves that - and there is no 'club theme' like 'Z Cars' (Everton). I suggest a different tune for each game perhaps relating to that days fixture, or nothing at all - let the crowd create the atmosphere.
  9. I think you've hit the nail on the head FLB - staff training. Bolton Road is adorned every July with huge banners for stewards and catering staff and they will all need a bit of practise.
  10. Pre season games should be a better standard than testimonials - there is more to play for with starting places up for grabs. Rovers seem to have settled on a formula of a foreign tour followed by a home game against a 'high profile' European outfit. Rovers would probably get bigger pre season gates if they re-entered the Lancs Cup! Experience has shown that dropping the ticket cost from £15 to £10 would make little difference to the gate.
  11. Firstly, treason is the only crime in the UK which still carries the death penalty as I understand it. Secondly, before we all get 'gung ho' and race for the kangaroo court, those arrested may only have been 'mules'. More dangerous in my mind are those behind the plots who recruited the bombers and could find another four clowns in the UK. Anyway, at least the residents of London should sleep a little more easily tonight.
  12. All 5 now bagged according To C4 news. Good work chaps!
  13. What?
  14. It would appear that some of these who would seek to destroy our culture are indeed UK passport holders. Some are not. Those who are not, let them go back to whence they came. Is Rome alight yet?
  15. Deportation.
  16. The point is how can we keep these criminals from sheltering in this land?
  17. OK then, lets keep Hooky, Bakri et al on the DSS and turn a blind eye.
  18. Hang on - by 'baddies' I mean those who are out to commit crime. What angle are you on StuW?
  19. Then Modi, how do you propose do deal with those baddies who shelter in our in our land under this 'law'?
  20. Modi Our fine country was not too bad before said '98 was it?
  21. Mr Whelan is the entrepreneur that Jack was - he should be actively recruited immediately. Anyone listening?
  22. Human Rights Act. Repeal it now I say and deport all the benefit claiming 'terrorists'. Anyone in favour?
  23. jjjjj
  24. Understood.
