  1. Could BRISA lobby for a change of pie supplier? A better pie would provide a crumb of comfort during the awful matches.
  2. You can add Keeley, Faz and Jim Branagan to Hendry and Reid.
  3. I was driving along Whalley Range at the time, a quarter of a mile due south (approx).
  4. I'd be surprised if there are any French nationals living around Earl Street.
  5. At 12 noon yesterday, when Britain fell silent, fireworks could be heard coming from the Earl Street area of Blackburn.
  6. Like they say in the pub....... .......don't get started on politics or religion.
  7. That's better Flopsy!
  8. And Flopsy, as for useless/throwaway comments, have you read my post of 7 July 20.47?
  9. Flopsy Your Christian/animal rights & Catholic/IRA comparisons seem to be off on a tangent.
  10. An interview with Omar Bakri as been broadcast on 5 Live this pm. I heard him say that there are many more 'British Islamic fundamentalists' ready to give their lives. I take no side here, But 1) is he a double agent saying this in public? 2) If so, why are these people not arrested?
  11. Flopsy's posts continue to be 1) naive and 2) as inflammatory as any other IMO - take a deep breath.
  12. Does anyone else find Flopsy's posts provoking rather than moderating?
  13. The only oversubsribed area in recent seasons has been the BBE lower. In these times of sparse crowds, why not move the family area to a part of the Riverside, thereby creating extra capacity for BBE fans?
  14. Corporate moaners on the Riverside............. ...........can't wait.
  15. Paddy I clearly remember the McFaul days and gates of 8,000. Howay with yer kilt (?) to yer own board. Enough's enough Mr tedium.
  16. I've posted on the ISA section about a launch promotion - it's worth a look.....
  17. There is an unhealthy demand for kangaroo courts when outrages of this nature take place, which often lead to innocent people being victim to miscarriages of justice. This was probably the case for some IRA trials (hence the overturned verdicts) and perhaps even the Pendle Witches. Time to keep a cool head and let justice take its course.
  18. Some mods on here persist in peddling pessimistic drivel (probably Riversiders). Isn't it time there were mods for the mods?
  19. Yep Biddy - I've been on this site and seen the minutes. Alan - I'm no Einstein but if all the founders of BRISA are BRFCS.com members, surely to Shearer they'll read this thread???
  20. But what answer would you be expecting if you had reason to ask said question to the suspicious one?
  21. Nice one Stu! How can I paste my post to a PM?
  22. Sounds very well meaning, and I think there will be lots of interest. We should be careful not to fragment support by simply adding websites/boards. Consolidation of the current organisations would produce a bigger voice. Suggest abolition of Fan's Forum - it is too ineffective. Also events organised to coincide with visits from the Irish, Norwegian and other overseas groups who only visit Ewood a few times per season. More comprehensive matchday travel for the 'North West' area. Currently, Darwen sends 4 or 5 buses to each home game, originally the brain child of Darwen Blues, and one from North Lancs. But Ribble Valley has had nothing for 25 years except for the Valley Blues in the 80's. The current transport available is very patchy and not coordinated. Look to the example of Charlton Athletic - subsidised transport covering surrey/Kent. Why not try park and ride schemes on match days say from: a Guide b Samlesbury c Botany Bay / Astley park With guaranteed fast track return after match. This would reduce traffic at Ewood. A long term goal could be to take the license of the Blues Bar (on a lease?) and introduce 6 or 7 Real Ales and widen its appeal to more fans than ST holders on match days, and get rid of all the American/Canadian pap that adorns the place.
