  1. Caught the football special from Blackburn station, remember the police coming on board just before the train was about to depart and dragging one of the Birdie’s off….the nutter one (anyone remember him?) The usual walk from the station down to Burden, gob shut, scarf well hidden, praying not to be spotted. Going crazy when Faz scored in front of their lot in the Leaver End…then the decision at the end of the game….should I join the hundreds of Rovers fans who climbed over the wall at the back of the open end and headed back to the station along the tracks or endure the walk up the main road….
  2. I’m sure we arrived at the ground not knowing we’d signed Keith Fear, due to the hols etc…..not like today, if you hadn’t seen an Evening Telegraph or your mates told you…you wouldn’t know I remember it not being possible to go the toilets at the back of the Longside without putting your life in danger with rocks and half house bricks raining down especially during half time…. Dad and Uncle were on the is it……Beehole End? Open terrace behind the goal..the following day my dad said “that’s it I’m never going a derby game again, it was a nightmare…fights breaking out everywhere none stop for 2 hours” ah happy days.
  3. About to give his unbiased view on yesterdays game now the Potato headed knob
  4. Just about to pick up mates and set off, looking forward to the game, I’m predicting a 2:0 victory……COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!
  5. Bolton……at least he’ll be that much nearer his home in Kerridge
  6. It’s sad for Matt that his career at Ewood virtually finished the day he came off the that bike, but since he’s been on numerous exotic holidays, married his sweetheart. Who’s multi millionaire father bought them their barn conversion in Kerridge, and he looks out on his and his wife’s 5 brand new cars on the drive……don’t feel to sorry for him, (he’s also got into golf, and like’s playing Florida courses) Bye Matty, carry on enjoying your wonderful life
  7. Booked six tickets by phone today for the Jack Walker, only two of us Rovers, and for 3 who’ve never been Ewood before.....Come On You Blues!!!!!
  8. Anyone else on here who went to the game at Cambridge a few year's ago that was called off at half time due to a frozen pitch? Now that was effin cold and frustrating, but it is just all part of being a football fan. Quote from mjs I did, we hired a car in Blackburn for the trip, picked everyone up around lunch, M62 closed after a massive pile up in freezing fog, the fog started to clear when we got south of Nottingham, several times we nearly turned back but soldiered on, knowing we were going to arrive late, made it to the Abbey Stadium for half time just as the crowd started to leave, found a pub on the outskirts of Cambridge with a Guinness promotion on to cheer ourselves up. Another day off work for the rearranged came later that season, again hired a car, just for two this time, all for a 2:0 defeat…..ah well, one of those events you look back on, laugh and tinged with a bit of fondness I must admit
  9. I remember best coming to Ewood with Fulham, but what really sticks in my mind is the time Rovers played United in a friendly, being stood on the Blackburn End watching the players warm-up when all of a sudden a skinhead by the name of Gibby from the Griffin area (I knew of him because he’d given me a kickin whilst I was doing my paper round) jumped over the wall, ran up to Best with paper and pen, got his autograph, then turned to the Blackburn End and promptly ripped it up……at the time we all cheered, thinking it was hilarious…….sad really
  10. Managed to acquire ticket in amongst the City fans, but also have to endure journey to ground on the Manc supporters bus from one of my local pubs…..going for a few beers in town after then train home, rather than travel back with that lot……unless we murder um…then it just might be worth it
  11. Well pleased, just what the fans needed…..COME ON ROVERS!
  12. Off over to Blackburn this afternoon, really looking forward to the game. I wish people would stop trying to compare men’s football with women’s. and accept it for what it is. Same people probably don’t bother watchin the women at Wimbledon or Olympics at Track and Field, Swimming etc, cause the Men do it better!! Come on England!
  13. Rubbish game, agree we cancelled each other out, and was sure Tugay was going to get a run out, but your comments about Stead are a load of tripe. For me and the guys who came with me (including 1 City fan) Stead was a man of the match performance worked his socks off, gave us the only real threat, had his work cut out against Distin and Dunne, hats off to the lad, Gallagher didn’t look anymore threatening
  14. Just picked up our five tickets from the Post Office on the way home, Block U3, Row 23, seats 15 to 19….bring it on…COME ON YOU BLUES!!!
  15. My 5 tickets have arrived today, but cant get to them as they are now in my local Post Office, obviously wasn’t home to sign for the registered delivery….bugger!!
  16. I bought 5 £45 tickets over the phone at 9:30 this morning, recorded message informed me that all £25 and £35 tickets had gone! Starting to look forward to it now, its semi final week...YIPPEE!
  17. Took a City fan to the game today, I was quietly proud of my team. He bought a Rovers at Cardiff scarf ready for next weeks, back home in the local John the Rochdale fan who’s also coming to Cardiff was a tad disappointed we hadn’t picked him a scarf up too…..We Shall Not, We Shall Not Be Moved!!!!
  18. Trying to find the best way of getting too and from Cardiff, especially after the lost hours last time. Local United fan tells me, the best way to do it, drive to Newport then catch a tram for the 15 minute journey into Cardiff…..can anyone confirm if their is any truth in this?
  19. Totally agree with Krislu, I thought Nelsen, Todd and Mokoena were absolutely brilliant tonight….leading goal scorer’s in last years Champions League and European Championships didn’t get a sniff, if only we could have had a bit more going forward, sure its Hughes’s next part of his plan, he’s only been here since September. Is it true we’ve only conceded 3 in 10 since Nelsen arrived?
  20. How Callina didn't spot the foul on the Barca goalie for Terry's winning goal, Cheski you lucky lucky barstewards
