  1. Reporter talking to Alan Brazil on Talk Sport this morning about yesterdays game, said when the stadium emptied all the Rovers squad came out onto the pitch to do a 20 minute warm down, that finished they all got into a huggle in the centre of the pitch (ala Chelsea this season) and started shouting and cheering each other the victory had meant so much to them, the reporter was very impressed by the team spirit that is obviously running through the squad. Hughesy seems to have galvanised the players into a happy bunch which I don’t think we’ve seen since the heady day’s of 94/95
  2. Overjoyed, what a brilliant solid performance from the lads, how the hell are that lot heading for the champions league… brilliant lads well done
  3. As I said in the match thread, superb performance, pure quality in defending, not only that his distribution is excellent.
  4. Sorry Ben but I feel your miles off, no one on that pitch tonight came close to the superb performance of our captain Ryan Nelsen
  5. Ryan Nelsen Captain Fantastic, absolutely brilliant personal display within a very poor team performance, hats off to Hughesy for unearthing a gem.
  6. Everyone attending the game have a wonderful day, sing your hearts out for those of us nervously sat infront of the box, you’ve gotta be that 12th man, defeat is not a option. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!
  7. Just been an bought a load of Blue+White balloons to decorate the pub, they’ll be a little piece of Lancashire in the Grouse Hotel, Derbyshire tomorrow, Come on lad’s don’t let me down, now we’ve had the shocks out the way, Kin murder um!
  8. Just at the point of his terrible injury at Newcastle last season I felt he was really coming into his own and starting to come to terms with the Premiership and looked forward to more to come, as I hadn’t seen to that point anything of the player Souness had told us we’d captured. Thought it would take him time over the first couple of months of this season to regain Premiership speed and fitness, but having been virtually ever present till the weekend with over half the season gone, to me he’s been very disappointing, so much so that at home to Charlton I felt he was one of the worst players on view, constantly choosing the easy ball usually backwards sometimes to the side rarely forward and when he did gave the ball away…in my humble opinion very overrated, and a big disappointment.
  9. Alan Smith on sky as just said we look so strong at the back, Todd doing all the organizing, the Yak hasn’t had a kick….10 million? Emerton causing all sorts of problems down the wing, Tommo should have done better after being set up by him….come on ROVERS
  10. Thought Nissa an Todd were absolutely fantastic today especially Andy Todd when he did mess up he made sure he rectified the situation brilliantly, everyone is just willing the ball into the net for Stead, I’m sure the goals would eventually come, just that when Gallagher came on he looked more lately, I still think we are lucky to have such promising youngsters….Jonathan Stead best cross of the game Shearer like …superb
  11. NEWS JUST IN SAVAGE HANDS IN TRANSFER REQUEST……while listening to 5Live just before half time in the West Brom/Newcastle game
  12. I rem it different Philipl. I cannot be bothered to look it up but I'm sure that 33000 crowd at Burnden was a 3rd Div all time record which was beaten some time later by the Sheff derby. Wasn’t the top of the table clash between Villa and AFC Bournemouth at Villa Park in the early 70’s of around 51,000 a record for a Third Division game, I seem to remember MOTD that evening saying it was?
  13. I went to that game with my mates. We stood behind the goal on the end nearest the town centre. I was amazed that there were groups of Rovers fans and Wanderers fans all side by side. When we won a corner we all clapped but others were deathly quiet and when they won a corner others were cheering and we were quiet. It was quite weird. Sam Allardyce was playing in that match. Roger Jones was magnificent for us. The following day's football headlines read "33,000". There wasn't a space to be seen on the terraces. I also stood on the Railway End that evening, duffel coat hood over my head, worried sh**less that one of the 100’s of darts and pool balls thrown by the Notlob fans was going to hit me, throughout the match, getting worse after Faz scored at the Leaver End At the final whistle loads of Rovers fans decided not to run the gauntlet of walking back down the main road to the station, and climbed over the back wall and head for the station along the tracks…happy days..
  14. Went into Fopp Manchester Thursday (new CD’s from a fiver). Picked up a couple and one in particular hasn’t been off the sound system since, few years old now, but absolute quality, takin me back to wonderful evenings under the stars on the Indonesian island of Gili Trawanga….KRUDER DORFMEISTER The K&D Sessions. Absolutely brilliant double CD..the dogs bo**ocks
  15. Did no one see Dunny as a guest on Soccer AM the weekend following Souness’s departure, when questioned about his fall out with Souness, he replied “don’t want to go into that but a least I can be a Rovers fan again now he's left the club”
  16. The blokes probably been on mega bucks (compared to the pittance I’ve received) since jack walker moved into the club, except for his caretaker rolls..since Dalglish was around he’s been nothing more than a general gofer/tea boy. I used to watch Rovers train down Plezzy, when Harford took the training all he did was carry the nets on’t field, great money since, probably good pay off now at 55, great early retirement….i bloody dream of such an outcome to life….lucky bugger
  17. and we along with every other clubs fans sang it in the early 70's (words to suit your nearest rival
  18. Well pleased…buzz all day as every 30 minutes we were mentioned on national radio, 3: 30pm announced that the Wales FA had allowed Rovers to speak to Mark Hughes…then radio5 break into the champions league commentary to announce “from this moment on Mark Hughes is Blackburn Rovers manager” top day…Rovers everywhere….
  19. which of all the plugins do i down load.....i already have them all except Java Sun, its all a little complicated.....i was OK last season
  20. Cheers Sam well pleased with the results so far….just one thing how do I reset my desktop internet explorer links on my desktop to Mozilla, when I double click Mozilla does take me there but still get the bar coming up saying internet explorer blah blah, just need to change them, how?
  21. Sam…interested, will I still be able to use messenger? If so how? Can I still use my Hotmail account? And will it get rid of the pop-up that high jacks my screen every time I connect to the internet, meaning every time I’ve to switch off and re-boot….bloody annoying
  22. Great bit of business, I remember all to well the 2 goals he scored against at Filbert Street even though they were virtually relegated, "Welcome Paul Dickov"
  23. For your information Rovermatt Recognition and Awards - Norman Jay MBE He is the currently the only club deejay in the world to be afforded this highly coveted honour awarded on merit for Services to Music and Deejaying. It is the first (and indeed the highest) civilian honour ever bestowed by royal appointment on an individual from the world of popular UK club culture and black/dance music. The ultimate accolade for a deejay who has distinguished himself over many years with his professionlism, pride and passion for his chosen art. Continually featured in the upper echelons of Mixmag's top 100 DJs in the world and one of the Face magazine's most influential club culture figures of the last decade, amongst numerous other accolades attributed to him, Jay's contribution to the UK music scene is second to none. He is a deejay icon featuring regularly on various television, radio and magazine programmes on black music and dance culture. Norman Jay, a recognised authority on both is considered by many of his peers and contemporaries alike to be 'The Peoples DJ' because of the width and breadth of his deejaying style and universal appeal. The Face magazine quite rightly proclaimed him 'A clubland institution'. Apart from a punishing deejay schedule playing funky house and various other music styles at gigs worldwide, he was again voted club DJ of the year 96/97 by Blues & Soul magazine and is the only DJ featured in the Face magazine's book of club culture extracts from 1980-1997 called "Nightfever" and in 1998 Norman was a nominee for the Best Radio Personality category in GQ magazine's annual Men Of The Year Awards.
