This is a bit of a madness Have there been a lot of situations like this across the EFL today? To not have a decision at this hour suggests there is a technicality neither us or the EFL has considered Contracts and the rules around them are black and white for a reason. How is it taking them 18+ hours to make a decision? -

Jesus Never heard of the lad to be truthful, but at least assumed he was a striker Jack Vale - this is your time................... -

Two deals - surely the lad from Rochdale and O'Brien? Have to say I am slightly disappointed if that is the case. O'Brien is a quality signing at this level - and I assume pushed the budget to the max. It may be a case that JDT and Broughton had a choice: a striker or a midfielder. There's simply no point in sacrificing quality for the sake of numbers. But then that argument falls down - do not get promoted and O'Brien goes back. We are back where we started. Then again, this 19 y.o lad may come in and bang 20 goals between now and the end of the season. Who knows? He must be better than Vale, who once again had a lacklustre showing last night. Hugely disappointed at the lack of a striker but will not yet blame GB and JDT. At the end of the day they have two wages on the books in Brereton and Gallagher, a combined £12m worth of signings, with wages that probably exceed £25k per week between them, who simply are not firing in goals. It isn't good enough. Therefore I would suspect that once BBD's wages are gone, and with any luck they may ship Gally at a loss in the Summer, that the striker will become the priority. Unfortunately we may not see the PL next season due to simply being unable to operate in the market required for a striker that matches the calibre of player we need -

I don’t get why they aren’t announcing lol Is it paperwork issues? I know you have so many hours after the deadline but god damn put me out my misery -
It was a dreadful game of football Stood with a Villa fan and a Bluenose in the away end. Luckily Mr Big Club had even less to shout about than anything us, and that’s saying something. Two poor teams on display. The Villa lad was fuming we kept him up for that shite - can’t say I blame him Brereton doesn’t want to get injured, it is plain as day Wasnt worth the tenner, but nevertheless we progress to the next round Particularly shout out to Pears who kept us in it. Some fine saves, he’s come on leaps and bounds

On Football Manager right now you’re scared to press continue in case too many hours pass by It’s a hit of the continue button and immediately you browse. Did they return my bid in 30 mins? 2 hours is too long - only gives me 5 to negotiate, agree, sell a player, adjust budget and sign. It’ll never happen We will sign three players today. I have faith -
Wouldn’t give the fantasist weirdo a moments notice. The problem with Twitter is it gives everybody a platform. He can put what he wants in his bio, people will retweet it and then not think about it twice He’s an idiot. Always has been, always will be

It’s pointless talking to you about Buckley You have nowt good to say. Just spam every match thread with bs about the lad We look better with him in midfield than without him And today he hasn’t been awful like people have said. He’s made some good passes, won the ball back but he isn’t helped with the lad he has next to him
-
This is a bit mad I think we have played the better football. Some good passing in and around the box Been a couple of moments between TK and the centre halves, but other than that it seems organised and controlled We deserves that goal Morton simply has to stop giving the ball away in bad positions. And Kaminski got away with another one too. Gallagher has been our worst player. Take him off the pitch and we’d look better if you ask me - very poor today so far

Nah they’re blue noses and proud of it Might have started as ribbing but they’ve took it on board and ran with it Bluenose and proud is a common phrase you hear around Brum

You are a brave man you j*b The volume of sarcastic posts this is going to produce if it doesn’t come in. You can see them now “was only last week we had the lad from Juventus signing on the dotted line” Fair play -

I think Kaminski was a good signing. Can’t say I’d heard of him! Dack is another good one - I hadn’t heard much of him And let’s be honest, had we not had dickhead owners and managed to flip BBD for 15-20m it would have been a good bit of business Adam Armstrong was a good bit of business, but you could see that coming I think they’re doing okay, but we could do better in getting targets from abroad a la Tommy K But “never” is a big word -

No one cares about Porteous Every club, in every window, will be linked with players they don't land It is not a damning indictment of the clubs' ability to get deals done, it is a damning indictment of the insatiable thirst for clicks and site traffic stemming from the 24/7 media industry Once again the player we acquired was not spoken about once I love the to'ing and fro'ing about should we sign, shouldn't we, is he any good, can he better us. Love it. Keeps you interested. But only a downright idiot would be foolish enough to think we 'missed out' on every single player name dropped or linked in the media The truth will be somewhere in the middle. Some we may have missed, some we may have enquired once and moved on immediately, some we were never in for at all -

We have needed a winger who can take his man on and get the ball in the box It’s just a bit stale up top. The lad might change This next part isn’t aimed at you Rev, but you get the impression a few take the highly critical route for the sake of it. If he doesn’t succeed it is an easy told you so, if he does then it’s easy to say “well I obviously wanted him to succeed” Its a no lose situation This “pacy winger” that has often been the buzzword has arrived, albeit for a short loan, so let’s just see how the lad gets on -

Each to their own I suppose There's not a lot of players at this level who are a patch on him. He's an excellent footballer. Unfortunately, deals like him do not come across every day, and in reality you are looking at minimum £5m + to even get closes to a player of Dack's intelligence and ability these days -

Szmodics is a good squad player In any promotion team you need players like that - ones you can trust to do a job He's got a couple of goals for us, won us points along the way, and comes on and closes out games very well With Dack back I am more than happy to see Szmodics as a replacement for that position / the CM role People moan at the money for him, and I do agree a better central midfielder is needed more, but that added depth will come at a costs At 27 we have a good 3 years out of him for ~£2m and he seems like a damn good lad and a good player at this level. I think he's a good signing, if not exactly what we need to bring us to that next level, but not every signing will be We are building on a team that was ravaged by mismanagement of the footballing side of things for years. Szmodics is a piece of a jigsaw, like any squad
