Nonsense. Garrett had a damn good game vs Sunderland, did well at Blues and did well when we played Bradford in the cup too. He came on at half time vs West Ham and did well, even scoring the winning penalty Loaning him out to League 1 is a far cry away from putting him in the same bracket as Pears and Hirst. Garrett deserves far more than that - being a 19 year old who has shown more than either of them two have in his handful appearances at senior football Garrett has also shown a lot in youth level football for Rovers, unlike Hirst or Markanday It just seems odd that you call repeatedly for Markanday, despite how consistently poor he’s been at all levels for Rovers this year, but say you don’t want a token appearance for a home grown lad that’s shown far more at all levels!! If we talk about weakening the team then on current form out of the two it is Markanday who weakens the team more than Garrett But then you do have form for rubbishing our young lads early on. Swings and roundabouts I guess - come from Tottenham you get a chance; come through the Rovers academy and have a bad game and all of a sudden you need League 1. Madness talk if you ask me! But football is a game of opinions and all that

I suppose you have to judge the young lads after a series of performances. Far too many fans say they aren't ready or poor players from a couple of 10 minute cameos. I would like to see Harlock or Garrett get a 4 or 5 match run in midfield playing 60+ minutes If you watched Morton for the first time vs Norwich you'd say he definitely isn't ready. The boy was poor. But he's also had some excellent performances for us too The one thing Morton does give is a good set piece delivery -

I don't think there is any chance of international football declining It is still the pinnacle of a football players career. The Euros and the World Cup are the most watched football tournaments in the world -

If TM wants to come and spend £8m+ on Dack I'd be letting him go He will get goals under Mowbray no doubt, but we need a £5m midfielder desperately and if we can sell Dack and buy a good one in there then it would be worth it for me Say we get £15m for Buckley + Dack from TM splashing Sunderland's cash then I'd snap their hand off. Providing we get a midfielder in that's going to improve the starting line up. Morton doesn't seem to be the answer -

If what Sparks posted about the fee being paid to Rovers of 100k per Saturday morning k.o is correct then unfortunately we, as fans, need to accept the reality of it being more financially beneficial to be on tele than at 3pm. There's no way we gain an extra £100,000 in match tickets per game. I'd argue we'd be on for a fraction of that in the majority of cases 100,000 at £30 a ticket is over 3,000 walk ons. Do we get that per Saturday 3pm game? And that's assuming everybody pays £30 Finances talk in football and clubs clearly enjoy the financial benefits of being on TV -

I think toilet is unfair But I do agree that his distribution was terrible. Hyam is head and shoulders above him Lenihan was a good player for us at a time when we needed him. I doubt he will ever get a promotion from this league though -

Love that he was unhappy about not being in the squad. It’s what we want to see The agent malarkey is a bit petulant though Is this confirmed or pub talk? -

Dom Hyam is better than van Hecke overall Hes definitely better than Lenihan, who was great for us but is not in the same class as Hyam Hes not as lightweight and can dig deeper. It’s no surprise we have looked better defensively this season But I would love to have van Hecke back don’t get me wrong -

Do Sky compensate the clubs for showing the matches on tele? We have had a lot of coverage lately which must be helping our bank balance -

Sir Gary to discuss his future with the FA after Christmas I think there has been a real reconnection with England and the general public during his time in charge. He’s been a breath of fresh air after some dark days Personally I would be gutted to see him leave. In my opinion, in the big games, the only game he holds some level of blame is the Croatia semi. His first major tournament in charge. Against Italy and France we found ourselves unlucky, battling against seriously tough opposition. It could well be that the last two teams we have lost to in major tournaments went on to win it. However, if the FA is ambitious in their appointment then at least the legacy of Southgate is that he left England in a better place than when he took it on. By all accounts St George’s park and the camp atmosphere is far better and the players look forward to England duty. It wasn’t always this way and it isn’t always guaranteed to be like that The next appointment has to be right. This talk in the media of it being inconceivable to appoint a non English manager is ridiculous. Coaches like Tuchel and Pocchetino (examples that spring to mind) are respected by English fans. To the majority the nationality of the coach comes second to his ability to produce good performances, create a good atmosphere in the tournament camps and stay connected with the English crowds. Foreign managers can do that -

Yeah, I'd agree with this Rovers will get another chance to right the PNE wrong in this season We will have to wait 4 years for a chance of retribution I am still gutted with the result. I couldn't bring myself to watch the game last night. I won't watch the semi tonight either The only way I watch the final is if Morocco make it. Other than that I won't bother with the final either -

It's also what the majority are interested in Silas I bet if you watched Portugese or Brazilian or German TV you'd see regular interviews with their managers and focus around main international stars or their own teams Like it or not, the vast majority don't want to see in depth analysis of the Canadian left winger before he returns to second tier football somewhere -

He's found himself all over the pitch, in particular against Iran where he was mopping up as much as he was setting attacks When you play the 4-3-3 we have been playing he's been the more attacking of Henderson / Rice but he's still been a central midfielder Foden always tends to play wide for City. Do we sit with a run of the mill #10 in this England team? In any case, there's no way you drop Bellingham in this tournament so far, certainly not for a player who seems more at home coming from the outside in, like Foden does week in week out for Man City See Bellingham's burst for Harry Kane's goal - made a tackle on the d of his own box, drove past a few players and passed it into an advanced Foden. Their games are different, and you don't drop Bellingham for Foden imo I don't think Foden would offer as much in Bellingham's role, certainly not in the defensive side of the game. You want Foden up the other end of the pitch ready to counter and attack. The two are different players -

I agree he is our best player on individual merit, but in place of Bellingham? Bellingham has been our stand out central midfielder, box to box, plays an entirely different role to Foden But putting that aside, Bellingham's been one of our best players at this tournament, so the idea of dropping him to squeeze Foden into a position he doesn't suit much seems an odd one This is a team game -

I actually think Sterling is one of the best players in this squad He may not be the best at club level, but for England his performances over the past 3 years have been sensational He works off Kane and is always in the right place at the right time - he may not start, but I think we will at least see him The only certainty for me is that Grealish or Maddison won't start; Grealish because Southgate sees him as a 'closer' and Maddison because he's not fit. I don't think anything else is off the table to be honest. I personally think he may go with Saka and Rashford
