  1. It has also been announced that the points deduction will be made after todays game. A loss or draw vs Fulham means Wigan will be relegated. Come on Cairney you beautiful man!
  2. Quite a few, yeah. Nobody is perfect. Not to the level he raves about Buckley though. Point is he's not the only one raving about him.
  3. Yep, and they haven't exactly ran the business their father handed them into the ground either. In fact it has grown, and continues to grow, and they continue to exert influence all over the world with offices from Switzerland to South Africa. From nutrition drinks to genetically modified chickens they oversee the whole lot with an assumed competence, otherwise why would the business be so big? Maybe it is a very slight touch of a superiority complex with some fans that they try and dismiss the foreign owners as incompetent. The truth is they are far from it - they are ruthless business people and once the unseen benefit of owning Rovers fades away they will drop us without remorse. I think the Venkys are very calculated people, who have managed to drive a huge wedge between the fan base and club, and continue to operate in ways that absolves them from any accountability.
  4. Huh??? I reckon it is more of a twitter bot account myself than Mowbray trying to sell a player he starts whenever he is fit.
  5. What did Dack say about Travis? I personally think he is one of the more accomplished footballers in our squad. He needs to work on getting rid in tricky situations but other than that he's a real baller. Can pass, can tackle, isn't slow off the mark, can turn and strike it if needs be. The only thing he lacks is that late run into the box that separates good midfielders from brilliant midfielders.
  6. Order of operations they call it. Brackets, Orders Division and Multiplcation Addition and Subtraction If you stick to that you won't go far wrong
  7. Amazing the clamour that reaches people on the back of a few minutes. I remember the same about Rothwell. A 15 minute cameo won't change my mind about Harry Chapman soon. No doubt he's a baller but why we are shining him up to be a world beater because he put a cross on the back stick (a standard cross by the way, nowt special) is beyond me.
  8. Believe you me, we have the utmost empathy for your situation. We know how it feels. However, we also saw your reactions when similar happened to us and remember that all too well Enjoy League 1
  9. Not even going to rise to that Travis story. About as believable as an honest Venky.
  10. Hahahaha fuck sake, just got the lightbulb one but could only do it after working back from Dreyski's correct answer. The above is wrong, I'm an awful QS, always have been, always will.
  11. 1) 9 + 9 + 3 = 21 2) 3 x (1+2+3+4) 3 x 10 = 30 Can't get the bulb one though? Only logical answer is the bulb = 15. (2 x 15) - 15 = 15. In which case Answer: 9 + (1+2+2+4) x (3x15) BODMAS means it is 9 + (9 x 45) = 9 + 405 = 414.
  12. My Grandad has been raving about Buckley for quite some time now. He did the same about Phil Jones many years ago too. I trust him to be able to spot a player. I think practically everybody who watches U23 football regularly all agree that he's a class above. I'll be honest I've only ever watched a handful of U23 games, so I will judge him on his senior appearances, and in my opinion he has shown a lot more than what he is given credit for. He's tidy and is usually in space which usually means he has a good footballing brain.
  13. If you don't think we can attract the likes of Snodgrass, El Ghazi and Mings then you must either not think very much of our club or think far too highly of them 3 players. Out of the lot Abraham is probably the least likely, but that's only after the hindsight of seeing him play for clubs like Bristol City and Swansea, and we are a much better club than them.
  14. Sigh. Play-off final season then. When promoted they had El Ghazi, Bolasie, Mings, Carroll, Tuanzebe, Hause and Abraham. So even more.
  15. If you sign players similar to Villa's there is absolutely no reason we can't get promoted with 5 or 6 loans. They had Johnston, Snoddgrass, Onomah, Tuanzebe and Grabban all on loan during their 10 game winning streak and play off promotion. Personally I am not worried about the idea of that many loans if they are good quality. The only issue with loans is that the following season you are back where you started, needing to get the same quality if not better. Eventually them holes in the squad need filling. Personally I would be looking at getting a goalkeeper in for free - Rob Elliott is out of contract and I'd him. Players like Joe Hart might be pie in the sky but if he's in the local area already, wants a club to revive his career and we need a keeper then it makes sense to at least contact him. He's desperate for a second chance and we are a very patient fan base - he'll get the time here for sure. I don't want my goalkeeper to only be here for one season because of how competitive the role is. It is possible that a goalkeepers mentality may be that, if they are only here for a season, then a mistake will always be judged in isolation rather than as a collective, and even if he is dropped next season he will get another chance somewhere else. When they are here permanently if they keep making mistakes then they are dropped for the forseeable, and you then become known as a Nr 2. It just seems a different kettle of fish to me than loaning an attacking player.
  16. I'd love to see Blues go down but I also don't want to to lose to Luton. However, it would be one of them rare occasions where a loss wouldn't bother me providing that lot got relegated on the back of it.
  17. Bloody hell. You must be an observational guy. You have managed to determine a blokes character, determination and the respect he has from others by watching him perform some pre-match drills. Was it the way he threw the cones down that had you deduce he had no personality?
  18. The goalkeeper should only ever be spoke about for one reason and that is because he made a great save. Every other week I want to be walking away thinking about something else other than him. If he's a regular focus of conversation then he's usually not a very good goalkeeper.
  19. Watford got promoted with a bag of loans if I remember correctly. Villa also had a fair few when they went up too. No doubt you'd rather own your own player but having quite a few loans in your squad isn't necessary a recipe for failure. It is all dependant on the loanee, of course.
  20. That sounded quite damning from Mowbray really. Almost an acceptance that he hasn't been near the standard required. I don't see Walton ever playing for a Mowbray Rovers again after listening to him there. With all respect to the player I don't see that as a bad thing either.
  21. Bloody hell, he thinks highly of himself and Brighton doesn't he? He's really looking forward to going back to a great club and Premier League set up. Brighton..great? He showed glimpses of a Premier League keeper this season but in the main he's far from ready. Far too many mistakes and with less games, more money and harder competition it won't wash in the Prem. He'd be dropped by Christmas if he delivers just a fraction of the mistakes he has made here.
  22. Which just means Bielsa picked the right replacements. Or, as any manager should always aim for, improvements.
  23. Lewis Travis or Adam Armstrong but Travis pips it for me because he’s one of our own.
  24. I'm not sure how administration works but I'm fairly positive if they entered administration they'd have to effectively wipe that debt off, which is probably part of the reason they have never done so. Maybe they are of the illusion that one day they'll see a return on it. In any case, get me a Blackburn Rovers FC in the Evostik North but owned by accountable people any day of the week over treading water in the Championship with a giant rock over our heads, being made to feel thankful for the money they put in.
  25. As a poster I often find myself agreeing with I'll leave this as my final thought on the matter. Put better than I am trying to do anyway! Nothing will ever change whilst they are here. Invested ?
