  1. We used 3 at the back a few times in League 1 and struggled then too. Never worked out for us, probably down to a lack of full back options. Whenever I have seen Nyambe I’ve never thought centre half. He’s electric down the flank but needs to work on his crossing. That can be done though, and if we had a striker who wanted to get his head or foot on the ball it becomes a hell of a lot easier. Gallagher got goals under Coyle working with two wingers crossing the ball in. He has to play centrally, although I can see the benefit of his work rate out wide. I just don’t think it gets enough out of him. In any case, you don’t spent £5m for work rate. We need a left back, CB, GK and potentially another starting midfielder and shipping out of Johnson. Don’t rate the bloke at all.
  2. So in one post he's too good of a player for us, and in the next he isn't. You are a difficult man to please
  3. Not this lot, rigger. You can be sure that every name worth a quid has been hawked around. You'd be right if we were a normal club, who wanted to keep their players and build, but unfortunately we know we are always one summer away from an absolute mad one where we see key players leave and replaced with pennies and buttons players who are either 3 years past their retirement date or eager to catch a last pay day. I can't ever get that idea out of my head during the transfer window.
  4. Selling Travis would be a travis-ty. All jokes aside, it actually would. He has been our best player this season and has shown a willingness in midfield we haven't seen in a while. I remember a while ago somebody posted the estimated contracted salaries for each player and Travis was rock bottom, way behind the likes of Evans and Johnson. If the business decision made is to sell him and keep them two then Mowbray needs to have his head checked. Get rid of Johnson, use the wages saved from the rest to bring in Whiteman, have 3 good central midfielders and then look at bolstering the positions we need (GK, CB, LB). It makes no financial sense to sell Lewis Travis, when you can no doubt bring a bigger fee for Armstrong or Dack if that is what is required, and we would save more on wages.
  5. So was mine Bullshit isn't meant to be an elegant word, but just what men say to each other in conversations if they disagree on something No insult, no harm done, just a word
  6. Bullshit. Individual mistakes like you have mentioned are weighed together with overall performances. Travis, Lenihan and Nyambe as a collective have given far more positive performances than mistakes. Bell on the other hand simply hasn't shown enough good performances to outweigh his mistakes. Just because people are not quick to jump on here and throw shade similar to your view on Nyambe doesn't mean they don't recognise the mistakes. It's a very weird movement on here at the moment that sees the need to round on any individual error with full gusto, and then moan when others don't do the same.
  7. What does this even mean brah? There's a huge difference between being unwilling to accept doubts and disagreeing with them doubts. You continuously make these claims about how youth players are talked up on here, but perhaps the difference is just that other fans of the club don't see their performances in the same way you see them. I must have seen half a dozen posts from you in the days since the Luton game which has made this similar type of claim. Yet, I haven't seen any post which has just blatantly tossed aside the "doubts" or criticisms of some of the performances of our younger lads, only an understanding that with age comes the potential for a mistake. An understanding that you overlook - which is a faulty logic because when others compare them to players more of their stature in academy games you dismiss it as totally irrelevant. In this respect the young lads can't win because they can't be judged as youngsters, as that level is too low for you, but can't have any mitigation in senior performances on the basis of their age or experience. Essentially you are setting them up to lose. There will be many that disagree with your assessments of players performances but that doesn't make them unwilling to see your doubts. I've said this to you before - it stinks of self importance that you think an individual poster (you are clearly referring to posters on here) disagreeing with you is an unwilling to accept "real" doubts. They are your doubts, not everybody else's. As an end to this I think you are wholly unfair in your critique of Buckley, JRC and Carter, but what I won't accuse you of is an unwilling to accept facts because my view on them three are as subjective as yours. What are your doubts aren't mine and visa versa, but I'd wish you'd stop with this self glorifying of your own opinions and how they should be accepted as absolute fact when discussing them lads.
  8. Thought I read he was 22 on here. My bad. 24 then. Still an achievement
  9. Regardless of what league it was in it is always nice to remember a player fondly. I loved Smallwood in our league 1 days, and spent many a night chewing my pals ears off about the King of Ewood. Hope he gets a decent club to go to and play football again.
  10. This Whiteman name has been popping up on here for a while now. If he comes, then fair play. He is 22 and captain of his club, which says a lot in my opinion. If he does come I'd like to see us loan Davenport out though.
  11. Luke Garbutt at left back isn’t the worst shout in the world either
  12. 'Twas a different time for us then Exiled. We had European nights coming up and some fantastic players on our books. I'd have hoped Jansen would have stuck around and we could have achieved even more. Sven has a lot to answer for. The boy should have been in an England training camp. As you say...what if?
  13. With all these departures it leaves me wondering only one thing.... ...Who is booking Elliott Bennett's taxi out of here? Not good enough and will only hold us back by getting into the squad on the back of determination, training hard and being a jolly good bloke to manage.
  14. I had a soft spot for Samuel I have to say. Looked a tidy enough player in his first couple of games for us, although it was in a different league. I can't say I will miss him as a player for Rovers but I am bit sorry he never cut the mustard here.
  15. My reaction has been contained to the BRFCS messageboard, of which I'm certain Danny Graham doesn't read or at least won't do from today. If Warren Lucy is reading then he has had his first history lesson into Blackburn Rovers and with any luck won't be calling Elliott Bennett a club legend when he leaves on a free in 12 months time. It wasn't at all meant in any seriousness by myself, and I'm sure Matty isn't going to go and picket the social media suite either, but more a discussion of how the phrase legend is too commonly banded about nowadays. I'll pull myself together don't you worry
  16. Then Warren Lucy is just another bloke at Rovers who is bad at his job. He probably doesn't have a clue about football though, and done a social media influencer course at an old polytech university. Now he is earning mid 20k a year to post absolute tripe on our social media page and has never bothered to look up our history. It wouldn't surprise me if there's a program in place which tells him about key dates and when to post what "throwback". I won't get too angry at him for calling DG a club legend because it is Danny Graham but it isn't true. We name stands after legends, build statues for them and still sing their names even to this day - Danny Graham won't have a song for him even next season.
  17. You would pay £350.00 for a product you have no idea whether or not you will receive or even if you do how much of that product you'll receive? Clubs should have tickets on sale because it is the right thing to do business wise - but I wouldn't be buying one until I know how many games I could watch for that money. It might be better value for money with pre-booked individual tickets for all I know. The Club just aren't proactive in absolutely anything though. I was looking at our ticket website in comparison to the Aston Villa tickets website only earlier - the level of information just isn't even comparable. It's frightening how poor we are for marketing our brand and we are even worse at engaging with our customer base, ensuring they are regularly checking our website or otherwise. Other clubs have "reimbursment details" and FAQs about the covid-19 situation but we have barely anything. Just embarrassing more than anything.
  18. Yeah, fair point. I don't want people to link Danny Graham to Rovers legendary status I won't lie. There are a lot of worse things that could happen to us though. I think he scored 50 goals, which isn't case for legendary status at any club, let alone a club steeped in history and success like Rovers. There's far more players above him in the pecking order like Jansen, Kevin Gallagher, Sutton and that's not even considering the actual players we'd consider legends. Legend is becoming a too commonly used phrase to describe footballers relationships with clubs.
  19. Matty that's more of a sign of how social media influences the views of others than the state of our club. They have tweeted that because it is more likely to be retweeted, liked and commented on than a simple thanks for your services. Danny Graham will never be spoken about in the same bracket as the players you have mentioned by the people that count - the fans. He has done everything asked of him in a Rovers shirt and he's not a player I would ever bad mouth, but I'm certainly not going to call him a club legend and I doubt he'd disagree with that himself!
  20. I think on the whole fans of Rovers will show patience for our youngsters, Parson. Football forums are usually quite critical places but there's one or two posters on here that take the biscuit with the criticisms of youth players. JRC and Buckley have looked good when played. I'll be honest, I have a soft spot with Rankin-Costello because he won the World Player of the Year for me on Football Manager once (tongue in cheek before the Sky Sports stat debate squad jump on me). In all seriousness though I know I am not the only one that is enjoying seeing the academy players push their way into the first team squad. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Carter in truth, I don't think he looked bad in his two games for us. He looks tall, composed enough on the ball and if he can cut them silly sideways passes out of his game he can be a real player. Tosin stands above him and Lenihan because he can pass forward every time. He's going to be a miss next season. In reality I think Carter would be more suited to a loan move away and for us to try and bring in a centre back and have Wharton as our 3rd choice. In the absence of funds these boys will have to step up and show what they are made of.
  21. I'll miss Danny Graham. I have enjoyed having him as a Rovers player and he has given us a good return in the twilight of his career. If he wants to stick around and teach Brereton how to hold a ball up and develop link up play it would be much appreciated. Him and Bradley Dack had a terrific partnership.
  22. There speaks a man who has never played football in his life if you genuinely believe he has a portion of blame to take for that own goal. The ball literally hit his head after going through a crowd - where is the blame there? I’d be extremely impressed if anyone had the reactions to avoid the ball there
  23. Yet it did nothing. I was one of them Mark. Mowbray isn’t the same category as Kean. What I offered was my view, and that remains, don’t take away the support for your club because of a temporary member of staff. You are of course free to do whatever you want.
  24. If, after all we have been through, last season was enough to turn you away from the Club then I'd suggest you are over reacting a little bit. Calling people Mowbrayites just shows you aren't looking at it from a reasonable perspective. Yes, the season was incredibly frustrating, but we have been delivered a hell of a lot worse over the past 10 years, and there's at least signs of some young players making their way into the squad. You have probably never seen the Cowley brothers' teams play regularly, he hardly turned up trees at Huddersfield, but the reason you'd buy a ticket for Rovers if a manager changes is because you are a fan of the Club, not the manager. In my eyes letting that overshadow your support is cutting your nose off to spite your face. Each to their own though. Abstaining watching the club because of a manager is pointless.
  25. That defence was crying out for a Pontus Janson in it last season. No amount of training can force a player to put their head to it in a game situation. We just don't have the players for it. Bradley Johnson is meant to be brilliant in the air but I don't see it defensively myself. He's a lost cause for Rovers and clearly disinterested.
