  3. The Small Faces - Get Yourself Together
  4. I understand that Gav, my response (that you quoted) was a direct answer to the poster who seemed to take issue with me caveating my Waggott remarks with “I can smell bullshit from a mile away”. It doesn’t really matter what my background or experience is but given the general mood of the forum (and the frankly childish comments aimed at anyone that had met with Waggott) made me feel like I did have to make the point that Waggott wasn’t dealing with Mr Gullible. My convos with Waggott are a matter of record and rightly so. I am not aware of any of the willy waving you describe as tbh I don’t follow this thread that closely.
  5. Which for me is exactly how it should be.
  6. I’ll tell you why. Mainly in response to the many childish comments on this forum about ‘Waggott’s Kool Aid’ and other snidey remarks alleging that people who are die hard Rovers fans simply trying to improve communications with the club are being brainwashed in some way. I particularly think that @1864roveritehas taken a lot of unwarranted stick in relation to his background in interviewing people and his subsequent views on Waggott. It’s a pretty sad place really when people (myself included) felt a need to caviat/defend our opinions of the Rovers CEO in that way.
  7. He was certainly a hothead as a player but he seems to be very highly regarded as a coach. Perhaps a bit like listening to John McEnroe talk about tennis now, which is an absolute joy.
  8. Spot on! Trav will pick up a sack load of yellow cards this season!
  9. Well I have nothing to prove to anyone in respect of my job and my talents as an organisational leader and I can definitely smell bullshit from a mile away but I have met worse chief execs than Steve Waggott, far far worse ones. I do think his heart is in the right place and I do think that those of us who have met with him need to continue to be his ‘critical friends’. Well done to Glen, Chaddy, Nick, 1864Rover, the Rovers Trust and anyone else who has influenced him over the past 18 months or so. Keep it up!

  13. Yeah Noel was late 30s and I believe Johnny took his own life in his early 50s.
  14. Johnny Price died on the same day as Noel Brotherston, just a few days before we won the premier league.
  15. The Stone Roses - Fool’s Gold
  16. I was directly opposite the Rovers fans Mark (opposite corner) and you could hear our fans throughout 💙🤍
  17. As one or two on here already know, the Celtic game was always going to be special for me as my sons are Celtic season ticket holders but with strong Rovers sympathies. Anyway when they came to pick me up for the game my youngest presented me with a replica top from the play off final in 1992 with ‘Grandpa 1’ on the back as he and his wife are expecting my first grandchild and on my birthday too. What a marvellous day we had 💚🤍💙
  18. The singing of the national anthem simply provoked the Sellick fans to sing “stand up if you hate the queen”. I was openly supporting The Rovers in their end with no trouble whatsoever. They were actually quite pleased that there was an edge to the game in truth.
  19. Ah this reminds me of the late, great Peter Alliss, the finest golf commentator of them all.
  20. Sorry mate but you’re talking nonsense here. I know lots of Celtic fans who follow them all over the world and it’s like being transported back to 1972. Rangers are exactly the same. How Celtic fans won that award in 2003 beggars belief. My son was in Seville for the final and he tells some ‘interesting’ stories about what they got up to. My brother was a police officer on duty at Ewood for our game against them and he said it was the worst support he had ever had to deal with in 30 years. Even on Saturday for a friendly game (I was in the Celtic end with my sons) they were singing some pretty vile songs. They also like to play the victims in a very similar way to Liverpool fans so no, they are not generally well thought of at all.
  21. Salt, David and Gleeson the match winners there, hopefully.
  22. I thought about getting Dylan tickets for Glasgow, then saw the price and then saw the mobile phone rule and decided to swerve it Gav. Had I not already seen him I might have taken the hit, just to tick the box though, to be fair.
  23. The Beatles - Mean Mr Mustard
  24. Both key players for us, that is good news chaddy
