  1. Bloody hell mate so is mine...in Scotland!! Oh well, time to dig my England party shirt out then hopefully.
  2. Turns out they did mate. Now does this mean Wales are worse than a pub team or England maybe actually did play well the other day? (I didn't see today's game by the way, just the result)
  3. A win tonight would have qualified us whatever the outcome of other games
  4. Paul Simon - Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover
  5. The Trust will be making a statement about this imminently Tony, the follow-up report to the fan led review is out and can be found here The Fan Led Review: One Year On
  6. As well as Wilko, another Johnson also died yesterday. RIP Dave 'Doc' Johnson, ex Everton, Ipswich, Liverpool and England striker. He was part of arguably the best ever Liverpool side (circa 1978/79). Any chance Boris can complete the hat trick?
  7. Fair comments. If we 'go for it' I would back our forwards to score more than those of most other countries, including Spain. France and Brazil are still favourites in my eyes, and have been since before a ball was kicked (granted Brazil still haven't kicked one yet). Argentina were also on my list but they've given themselves a lot do do now to even get out of their group.
  8. David Bowie - The Man Who Sold the World
  9. Yea I was saying this earlier at work. Boils my piss to be honest and there was a lot of evidence of it on here on Monday.
  10. You’ve obviously forgotten that was in the Euros rather than the world cup TS 😉
  11. Nice one. Who Knows Where The Time Goes has the same effect for me. I like Chris Farlowe’s original of Handbags as well. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
  12. Rod Stewart - Handbags and Gladrags
  13. Eddie Holman - Hey There Lonely Girl
  14. Willie Clayton - Love Pains
  15. RIP Wilko Johnson, Dr Feelgood guitarist. Cheated death once but not a second time. He was definitely an inspiration for the young Paul Weller. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-63728503
  16. I was surprised they kept him on after that at the time to be honest. The game was won already.
  17. Ocean Colour Scene - Huckleberry Grove
  18. USA v England in the 50s, and Algeria beat West Germany once I think?
  19. Or just possibly England played well?
  20. Have we? My recollection of previous England WC finals group games against inferior teams has been that we have struggled. Cheer up mate
  21. Paul Weller - Old Castles
  22. I'm not quite sure what your point is here? Are you complaining because England let 2 goals in (one of which was never a penalty in a million years)? If so, that is possibly the most 'glass half empty' post in a very long time. It could quite literally have been double figures today, and if we leave ourselves a little bit open as a consequence so what? We have all been complaining that Southgate has been too negative and needs to utilise our excellent forwards more. The poor guy can't win. Today was the ideal start for England, and it would be churlish to suggest otherwise.
  23. While I kind of agree with your sentiment, they still spent a shit load of money, by anybody's standards. Proportionately a lot more than Jack Walker did, and yet we got the 'bought the league' accusations (and still do).
