  1. Johnson on…Buckley to right back. Really need a right back in the winter
  2. Diaz one on one with the keeper and it’s saved. Excellent ball by Buckley
  3. At this point it’s more likely we concede 2 than keep a clean sheet.
  4. Gallagher with a sliding block in the back post to prevent a tap in.
  5. Gallagher on for Khadra. Needed to get a hold up top and find a way out more consistently.
  6. Commentators on rovers tv still think the goal is Daiz’s. Keep saying he’s up to 18
  7. Going to be a long half the way this has started.
  8. Thought our best chance was from Buckley winning the ball at half for the 4v3 that Diaz tried to bend in the far post. Thought that Diaz could have done better than that, but hard to second guess him at the moment.
  9. Up to 3rd as it stands at the half!
  10. Great to be up one at half, mostly defended welll. Khadra could have been better with his chances…not sure we will be able to keep Bournemouth out for the full 90
  11. Pears with an excellent save!
  12. Definitely an own goal. Came off the bar
  13. Quick restart caught them out of sorts. Smart by Diaz and Rothwell
  14. I was just going on about the formation of them all being in a straight line.
  15. exactly...bring in new ones just in time to "polish them up" and sell them on. Doesn't seem like a path to getting back in the premier league, just one to tread water here.
  16. Some may even choose not to sigh because of it as they'd question the ambition of the club to get promoted, I imagine.
  17. Would really be a shame to break up the side now. It's fun to watch the group of players come of age and push for a chance at promotion. Certainly understand the business side of things, but it seems were never going to progress if we keep selling our best players just to balance the books. (especially when you sit in a playoff position)
  18. Doesn't look like there's much width in that side.
  19. Love games like this. Nothing to lose, everything to win. I expect us to lose of course, but any day can be your day. A result draw, or win would be great but a defeat wont do anything to damper my spirits. With the exception of the Fulham and WBA games, we've been in every contest. Win or lose, would just hope to see us play well and be competitive. I'd like to see Ayala back in there for his leadership qualities, also like to see Dolan get the start. Khadra has provided the goods the last 2 matches, but outside of those moments has looked out of sorts. Pears Lenihan Ayala Wharton Nyambe Travis Rothwell Pickering Buckley Dolan Brereton-Diaz subs:- Eastham Van Heck Edun Davenport Kharda Gallagher Johnson
  20. Not having Downing playing in back with Bell certainly helps
  21. It’s a credit to the club and the legacy of Jack. A club like us will need to develop players from within and we’re finally giving those lads a chance. Without the pandemic or FFP, we’d probably still be running out 35 year olds on their final days of professional football.
  22. What I enjoy most, whether by design or otherwise, is the volume of young lads that have come to age with the club getting results. Most of the starting 11 and 18 each week have been with Rovers since they were teenagers. Almost all have played with the 23s many with the 18s. About time we’ve given the kids a chance to shine.
  23. Gritty result. Under the conditions easily could have lost to a less talented team.
