Our total lack of structure and inability to press or screen played a massive role in them looking like this in that game. It was VI’s first game and the first 45 minutes was embarrassing, we basically let Duffy walk the ball through the middle of the pitch half the time -

A player from a relegated team in a league way below SPL in the coefficient, can’t say I’m excited. -

I'm sure there are plenty of clubs who would consider themselves to have bad owners, until you know the ins and outs of all clubs it's difficult to pinpoint many outside the obvious. I'd wager than not many day to day football think we have particularly bad owners, we don't make headlines we bumble along apart from the recent managerial debacle but even that causes not much more than a ripple on Talksport for an afternoon. -

Same question everyone I know has asked, they don't seem to have any obvious business to promote so the latter option seems the most logical -

Checked it out, xG is based on xG measures the quality of a shot based on: Distance from goal Angle of the shot Type of assist (through ball, cross, etc.) Body part used (foot, head, etc.) Defensive pressure Shot type (open play, set piece, etc.) The person taking the shot has no influence on xG, I suppose this is where the comparison of xG vs actual goals to judge a players worth is useful. -

"Trust us", and subsequently bin bagged an experienced (although difficult to like) manager for a man who has no mens game/pro managerial experience (admittedly holds an A license) and is the same religion as the new owners. Now I have no problem what religion, ethnicity, etc a manager is however to clear an experienced one out who has stood by that club through it's darkest hours to replace with one who wouldn't appear on paper to have been in the running anywhere else doesn't seem a great foot to get off on. -

I probably need to look into whether xG is influenced by the quality of your strike force and whether their likelihood of scoring influences the xG. if you create 10 tap ins but you have Ashley Ward up top does that then drop your xG to 2 rather than the 10 it would be if you had Haaland. -

running costs are the same as any other club, whilst they don't own their ground per se, they own the leasehold from a trust/covenant - the JB Christie Trust. But in terms of a saleable asset the ground isn't included within the sale only the fixtures and fittings. We all know Rovers would be snapped up the minute it was for sale, championship clubs are a huge investment opportunity, it's just the plants and ostriches that don't see it or want to see it -

When you've got someone buying National League Morecambe who have no players, a cat 3 academy (for a year until EFL cat 3 status is removed), no training ground and don't own their own ground for £7 million quid (plus 6million yearly operating costs) the idea than nobody would buy Rovers is absolute nonsense. I know we're talking completely different levels there but if someone is sinking £13 million with absolutely no chance of a return into a basket case national league club with a terrible catchment area then surely Rovers looks a cracking investment! -

This is data from stats bomb, I''m not sure on the exact nature of how they register a 'chance' but knowing how rigorous their data is I would wager that they're at least a half chance or more. As others have said, last year we were poor at converting the chances we created. This year is a perfect storm in a sense of we're not creating a lot and the chances we do create we are very poor at converting (as it was last year). -

Oh I know that, which highlights how poor the 'package' is we're willing to offer, we can't even compete with fee free deals. As ever the board have Champagne Taste but want to pay Brown Ale money, it was ever thus and to coin another well worn phrase, you pay peanuts....... you get monkeys -

If nobody else was signing players, the description of the market would stack up. But when Saturdays opponents who are under a transfer embargo can bring in (on paper) better signings than us then you have to question things. -

The creativity argument is a bit of a red herring, I mentioned it last week but Brittain created 40 chances last year which only converted to 2 direct and 2 indirect assists. Which to me tells me an awful lot about out ability to finish chances -

With the greatest respect, who is buying our remaining players at fee's that would allow us to make upgrades. Some will work out some won't is tired trope, we've not signed anyone this year who looks an obvious upgrade on what was there before them. That player trading model has one outcome I'm afraid. -

He can't tackle that's for sure, his inability to step in or even divert players played a huge role in both goals. -

We may indeed have 2 players for every position, however that argument is nonsensical if they’re substandard. Across the squad the back up option is questionable or untried at this level. Christ if we’re honest half the first choices aren’t up to it. I don’t think anyone is advocating stock piling players, however what they are saying is bringing in quality that can have an impact now. Every player we’ve signed is less equipped to perform than their predecessor, I’m hesitant to say downgrade as it’s early days but the signs are there for all to see. -

I watched the Atletico v Espanyol game and was struck by how different Dolan was in his willingness to cross early. His first involvement in the game he did his trademark slow down to try and speed up routine and got clamped fairly easily. From there on it was a case of touch out of his feet and whip it in, he looked effective to be fair to the lad. -

Cheers, my point was more in reference to quality rather than character, etc. I was trying to highlight the points he was making about the data being a factor in decision making and in most cases it being the one that holds the least weight. I personally don’t think Gueye is a championship player and I’m on the fence re Ohashi. I wouldn’t class miller in the same bracket as with the SPL being so accessible it’s like signing a player from the champ/league 1.
