  1. Or it’s just the classic red against blue and white
  2. That’s an almighty bit of fishing there, cast that one right out into the lake
  3. Most deals are done after July 1st so players can claim their 1 month severance and come to a paying up agreement on their owed holiday pay, etc. Delaying signing till this date enables them to get a good signing/relocation fee in lieu of a months wages from their new club
  4. That yellow and black kit was fantastic, ASICS knocked out some fantastic kits, albeit I wasn’t a fan of the orange CIS kit and whilst I liked the luminous yellow and blue one as a kid I think it’d honking now. The kaleidoscope ASICS keeper shirts were brilliant, a piece of football folklore
  5. I'm afraid it would be a no brainer if I were in Travis position. A young ambitious (judging by his wife's social media) newly married couple is a perfect match for a team with successive promotions, widespread positive worldwide media coverage, committed owners who are progressive and seemingly with ever improving infrastructure. If you look at it from a business/career point of view there is only 1 winner IMO, we're a club on very much a downward trajectory on all fronts, Wrexham are the opposite, as much as it pains me to admit that the famous Blackburn Rovers are a worse option than Wrexham.
  6. The women's youth teams are already based at UClan, York City play at the Uni, small stadium in the middle of an athletics track. York City u23 play there also. Surely we'd be better playing at local clubs in step 2, 3 or 4 with 3g facilities, investing in local infrastructure rather than carting to UClan, who fund Macclesfield and PNE academy.......
  7. Jesus Christ, Ryan Cooney got released and couldn't get a kick at Morecambe 2 years ago. He's absolutely terrible and about 2 stone heavy. I know he played a lot for Crewe last year but honestly if that's where we are at with quality of signings just announce voluntary relegation now.
  8. Elliot Jackson banding around the idea of an ultimatum made to Brittain, that's 100% the club paving the way for him to be sold, be very very surprised if he's a Rovers player next season. Championships' best RB will fetch a few million.
  9. There is a funding implication to offering players more minutes, this moves you up the EPPP league table in terms of output, resulting in increased funding. There is also an impact on any players that then leave on a tribunal or don't renew with us, the training comp is based on a mix of 'training cost' and the value they are to the team.
  10. Is that the fella who did a brilliant job with Rovers social media, I remember there was an 18 month period where the content was very good, quite funny, original and in touch with the audience
  11. to be fair to the Port Vale Marketing team they're not working for Saachi and Saachi and will be doing about 15 'marketing/promotion' jobs, spread across social media, commercial, hospitality, events and whatever else might come under their remit so I can let them off
  12. Great kit, horrendous marketing shots. Looks like it’s taken in someone’s garden, wearing trainers as well. Terrible
  13. It's mind blowing the levels of stupidity at Ewood, filling the Riverside at the cost of a packed BBE both kills the atmosphere and pretty much results in a net reduction on ticket sales turnover. Not to mention the resulting reduction in sales of beer, food, etc.
  14. Across a squad it's not that many for training, getting up and down as a keeper is exhausting so any finishing drills will need at least 2 keepers rotating in and out, you don't want that to be your numbers 1 and 2 as they'll blow a physical gasket
  15. As soon as they come up with Mannequins that can move these lads will be out of a job!
  16. He's a training keeper, at our level you have to contract lads to do this. Up and down the land clubs from Step 2 through 5 will have keepers who are paid expenses (or contracted) to purely be a body in training, both to support the keepers and lighten the load on keepers for finishing work to give the Pro's a rest. This lad will be no different, Eastham and Hilton have been fulfilling the role for us for years.
  17. The big blow for a lot of the young women affected (16-19) will be that this could seriously hamper their chances of going to American D1 Universities which is a well trodden/lucrative pathway for female footballers. It's not just the short term impact these decisions have it's the long term life changing impact they have
  18. A lass (16) who I do private coaching for has just signed for Rovers u21's turning down Everton and Liverpool, same story for her. Puts a massive dent in her plans for the next couple of years
  19. Are they aware that without a season ticket you can enjoy every Saturday 3pm home kick off, in fact if all your bothered about is saturday 3pms then you're better off without an ST.
  20. ditto, real shame for the lad. The few times I saw him he had that lovely combo of being a direct runner in that languid left footed style, bit of a throwback to some extent
  21. His purple patches have come when our formation and tactics have allowed him time and space, where he's the spare man in midfield. Where he's been deployed against a man to man system or one that matches us up zonally he's been awful, he has no wing mirrors when he's in midfield and when played as a traditional right back he gets rinsed, which is saying something given the general approach this year has been to allow wingers wide, give space and allowed to cross as we're confident the CB's can deal with it.
  22. The bookies have us in at 10/3 now
