I don't think the players are fit enough for two games a week.

Also the players must know they don't have enough firepower at the moment, especially when we have our only centre forward out. It must be a kick in the ass to think, now we have to score two. Easier to play with confidence when you have decent strikers in the squad.

And when do we throw in their extra day rest being home in the cup game as an advantage.  As always not sure which way it goes but JDT best have his ducks in a row.  I really want to win this one.

  2. Rubbish. Are we really 2nd we look so crap half the time.  One thing for sure, we take that shit to Turf Moor and we are looking at a reverse of the minis and ferraris match.

I have so far been totally unconviced by our league position and feel like it is ludt a matter of time till we witness a Danish style death spiral.  Strange cos at the same time I find myself thinking just a few minor adjustments and we could really do this.  I like the thinking I just don't believe we have enough players with the required quality to pull it off.  So bloody infuriating.

  3. Burnley are more accomplished and further along than is in their rebuild, why?  well that is easy they bought better quality than we did, they can afford it.  I think almost all across the pitch they have equal or better   We have the better keeper maybe.

One thing may go in our favour more of our players have blue blood and been in Rovers set up longer than most clarets and oerhaps our lads will be a bit more up for this than them.  Maybe.  Either way this game does me head in.

You’d have ten penalties a game if you started giving them for holding at corners these days. I agree that something should be done about it though. Not a random pen in the first game of the season but an on going campaign to stamp it out.

Then ten pens it should be.  It needs stopped.  They are fouls, give em.

Also should have mentioned the stonewall penalty we didn’t get when their player simply wrapped his arms around Harwood-Bellis at a corner.

It seems this is still allowed as is two handed push in the back.  But by god don't knock a player over sliding into a challenge.  Shirt holding on the blind side of the ref is getting quite prevalent too.

  6. Good win, very good win.  Having been slightly critical of him I must say Smodics has grown on me.  Another terrific finish.  Vale was really.good when he came on.  Young Adam Wharton,, well what can I say looks a real real talent.  For all their huffin and puffin Hull never really threatened to score, onwatds and upwards.

Phillips will be a £25m defender inside 12-18 months? That is one hell of a statement and based on the Buckley £10m stuff, whichever staff member you know that keep divulging this seems to be prone to a spot of hyperbole!

Our fans were brilliant with Brereton but his rise was somewhat sudden, it is not a problem if people give their opinion on here, it makes no difference. If everyone just shrugged and said "they know better than me" then this messageboard wouldn't exist.

Nit seen anything from young Ash in the man's game to suggest he is anything special.  Young Wharton eclipsed him for young uns making an impression.  Let's not forget our oast us littered with "the next big thing" type players who really went nowhere but down.  Nuttall as mentioned, Broomes was one too no?  Buckley fixing to be another unless he gets over his mourning for Mowbray PDQ

  8. Sadly Dack is done here.  Mowbray revealing his chat with Dacky probably put the final nail in the coffin as far as JDT is concerned.

In all honesty I feel JDT has not given him a fair shake, not at all.  Is it a ploy by JDT to assert authority, bit like taking out the biggest in a group of bullies.  I really feel for Brad as if one ACL in his prime was not bad enough but two, it's a damn shame for both club and player.  I would love for it to work out but I think this marriage is irretrievably broken.

Tony Mowbray lost the plot the last 3rd of last Season. What a replacement JDT is turning out to be. With the team we've got we should be putting in a serious challenge for a top 6 finish. Dare we dare to dream of automatic after last Season. Hang your heads in shame those who gave JDT some stick first month of the Season.

Steady on now it is early days.  We don't yet know if JDT has a death spiral in him.  Signs are promising.  Confidence is what this group needs only wins will bring that.  Two W's in a row is great, now let's get 3.

Hedges never touched the ball prior to connecting with Clarke. It was Clarke's foot that moved the ball.

    Wharton was offside.

    Full stop.

Comma maybe but not full stop.  Just cos that is your opinion it does not make it so.  By letter of the law that oush on Wharton warranted a pen. so equal equal.

You knocked it about well at times, so having a decent recognised striker could've made a big difference. I was surprised about how comfortable on the ball most of your team looked. Think you're right about finishing comfortably in Mid-table. Mowbray will likely start to annoy sections of your support in time, but he has enough about him to keep you well clear of danger. Kicking on might be a slightly different question!

Even though plenty of refs would've given a pen, I'm still not at all convinced so I don't agree that he gifted us two. I think we should've made a lot more of some of the breaks that we made in the second half too, but I accept that it was a pretty tight game overall.

Just you wait till February and the death spiral coming your way.  I did think Sunderland looked a good side and had I not known I would have said no way does Mowbray manage a team that plays that way.

I thought we got the rub of the green with Pawson's decisions. I called it a penalty in real time and Wharton is clearly offside for the second. If it's any consolation I thought the best player on the pitch was Roberts who might, after several years be fulfilling his potential. Seeing Mowbray throw three substitutes on reminded me of how many times he did that here with no plan. At times after that it looked like a kids game with your players all over the place just running around.

I think it was a penalty but offside no.  Player in the wall olays Whatton on and maybe the ref thought well if you had not given Scitt a two handed shove he would not have been there.

Getting irritated at the amount.of holding players are getting away with and still hate all the play acting and falling down with the slightest touch.  Penalty decision makes up for all those not gone our way either for or against.  Still took me about 6 views to make up my mind.  Sky really don't like us do they.
