  1. Jesus christ, unsurprisingly you havent a clue. First of all consider the drugs which are unquestionably far less addictive than those two...Mushrooms, LSD, ecstacy, ghb, ketamine etc etc. The fact of the matter (look for figures if you don't believe me) is that no drug is more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco, and there are many things in our everyday life that are far more addictive ( Monosodium glutamate, for example). I know you'll find this one even harder to believe, but ecstacy doesnt kill - what kills people is overheating, overhydrating or choking on vomit. If heroin was legal i very much doubt youd get as many people injecting it, rather they would be smoking opium in themed cafe bars, or at the worst chasing. If the product was pure and the actual act of taking it into your body was socially acceptable, there wouldnt be the need to inject something thats been cut with brick dust, and i doubt it would be long before there would be no 'crap' product from an unreputable backstreet dealer - just as you don't see people brewing crap quality vodka and selling it on the blackmarket. Many drugs can also be ingested in several different ways, and come in the form they are currently known in for smuggling/cutting/weighing purposes rather than because thatys how the end user wants it. Legalised drugs could see cocaine return to coca cola for example - not a lot of chance of ending up looking like Daniella Westbrook then is there? A bit of good hash in some coffee works wonders, and theres no worries about damaging your lungs...
  2. Theres not much point bringing this up, you won't be able to smoke a cig in your own home let alone a joint the way things are going. If the tory's have half a clue how to solve their problems with being 'out of touch' with the man on the street, they will make Cameron their leader on his comments on drugs alone.
  3. I remember about ten years back watching Scunthorpe Utd play Wigan, Wigan had a fella called Jesus on the bench.
  4. Im giving them more credit than they deserve then. I'd forgot Fenton even played for us, what became of him?
  5. 7-1 home and 5-2 away if memory serves, two of the best games ive ever been to.
  6. Bild is based on the english red tops (and its a load of crap, die Welt is much more on the ball) but its nowhere near as xenophobic when it comes to sport. In fact they don't really put a lot of sport in at all, as they put it in Sport Bild, and try not to alienate the readership by slagging teams as badly, be they countries or clubs. They currently have England down as one of the favourites i believe, above Germany. This week they appear to be giving more coverage to England and Hollands games than the defeat in Turkey, although i have yet to see a mention of that game in an english paper (yes, im well aware it was 'just' a friendly, but when you don't have qualifying you cant take friendlys at sven-pace). What did they say about the Slovakia defeat? Poor performance but well done slovakia. What did the sun say about the England win against Austria? They called for Svens head because it wasn't five nil. Basically im full aware of the whining German sports press, but id much rather that than this countries heavily biased load of Man Utd supporting fools. If there is an England vs Germany match next summer, i think i will be taking a trip to Edinbrough.
  7. Germany isnt so great anymore, im well aware of that mate. We have home advantage and a world class midfield but thats about it. Both our first choice keepers are past it, the forward line has no strength in depth and the defence is inexperienced. I can well see why the scots and the english fans disagree, with some of the tripe i've seen on the front pages of the Sun, the Mirror and indeed the Record every time WM/EM tournaments come round, especially if the France, Germany or Argentina happens to be the opposition. You'd think the country was at war. On the same subject, have any of you guys read a book called Ingerland? Interesting reading, forget the name of the author. not by choice, when i can afford it ill be offski! And bad mouth the country thats (rather generously) paying for my education, no chance! But the hooligans, media and football team are fair game, and areall possibly involved in some sort of satanistic plot to rule the earth....
  8. I used to choose England as my second team but after the sh*t i've taken from England fans over my nationality, i don't bother anymore.
  9. Well my guess is England will be in Stuttgart or Leipzig, as these are more 'out of the way' and i reckon Berlin or Muenchen would be asking for trouble. I think the states may get a similar favour to what the irish got in 94 (Boston) and get put in K-town or NRW. Ill see if i can pick up a Bild this week and find out, i imagine there will be some reaction to the English & Dutch results and what this will mean for the unlucky city that has to cope with the 'supporters'.
  10. Van Der Vaart is looking gooood lately. How much did he cost, bout 4 mill euros?
  11. I gonna put my two penneth in here before he gets a complete slagging. He wasnt that great at Rovers, but he had just recovered from a serious illness and wasn't really interested in the team, i think he realised he could be doing a little better for his career by going home. Excellent player for FC Bayern though, if we'd have had him in that form, well...
  12. Ill put it another way. All very well and good letting them in for a quid when they are young, but you seriously think as soon as they are 16 they are going to be in a position to pay twenty five times that to get in? I used to go to shed loads of games when i was 12-15,virtually none when i was 16/17 and when i had a good job for my age at 18-21 i used to go regularly, now im an impoverished student im back to going very sparingly. It was great value when i was a kid, if i couldnt get someone to take me to Rovers i'd go to a third division game for three quid. When i was at college that changed to Friday night out with my mates or a game on saturday, including travel costs as i was too old to go with parents or their mates.
  13. Just bring in something thas higher up the food chain!
  14. Kids today don't like football. They like videoing slapping people in the face on their camera phones, smoking Marly lights and violent computer games. Its a lost cause, focus on getting the real fans in.
  15. Am i right in saying Rovers would be my closest Premiership club, from Leeds? Must be Rovers or Bolton....
  16. Might work for the English, Italian and Spanish teams, but it would be a joke to see a German select with only 2/3 Bayern players, or a dutch select with only 2 or 3 PSV players....
  17. Bastian Schweinsteiger is another good un - pig lifter!
  18. A brief walk past Elland Rd on matchday will show you thats not true. Although as many of the items there infringe Man Utds copyright as Leeds! Nike have, for a long while now, followed a policy that means they arent chasing up subvertisers and the like, and it doesnt seem to do them harm. Mcdonalds, on the other hand, have had this sort of policy turn round and bite them on the ass several times. Jeez, i come home for an hours dinner and im still talking about Nikes marketing policys
  19. No, but as we are all aware, Rovers marketing strategy is crap/non existent. And that wasnt the point. The point was more that Man Utd didnt seem to have a problem with this when they were a plc, probably because some brains (kenyon?) had figured out the good points behind allowing fans to use the crest. Funny they do now that they have Glazer in charge, who seems to think he can run the club as a private business interest and still make money on the fans after pishing them off to a stupid degree. Having said that, it'd probably work in America, and it may actually work in the UK.
  20. theres a big difference between protecting your trademarks and looking after your customers. In this instance i would have thought there was a significant case for any non-profitable use of the club logos by supporters (eg fan sites, tatoos, painting the logo on your kids bedroom wall etc) to be allowed for marketing purposes. Even the dodge brothers wouldnt argue against that one. Obviously some trader whos sat outside your club shop is a different matter completely, but this ruling smacks of American capitalism at its worst.
  21. the only one doing the whinging is you. The torrent is slow, i cant help that. It is the slowest torrent i have seen, thus i mentioned this to stop other people wasting their time. It doesnt take a genius to work out that a torrent for a game Man Utd lost against a small town team is not going to be well seeded for very long. Well done to who ever put it (illegally) online though, super work.
  22. i also use bit tornado, but this is the slowest torrent i have ever seen.
