  1. No he really didn’t, scraped through the leagues then failed to get promoted to the spl and knocked out the cup to Alloa, it was a major failure and led to an awkward feeling among the rangers fans as he is right up there as a rangers legend but they didn’t want him as manager , he was chipping away at his legendary status when he decided to call it quits and went on gardening leave
  2. As I said I’m not advocating for di matteo but mowbray was also on the football scrap head when he came here. I’m not really one for ainsworth either, I can’t put my finger on it but it just screams failure to me , I think it’s the fact that past players, connections to clubs just never seem to do well, it’s like everyone wants it to work and maybe try too hard but it rarely comes off. Off the top of my head shearer- newcastle solskjaer- Man Utd mcoist- rangers berg- here
  3. Think the main thing is that they have to get this right, already far too many fans that feel alienated from the club , and complete apathy towards the clubs fortunes, we were going down a dangerous path with mowbray I felt as it was all too predictable and samey. Let’s get some pride and entertainment back to Ewood. I’m well aware that venkys will continue to divide but if they get this appointment right then maybe we can move forward
  4. Almost ruined his career that documentary, before then he was quite well regarded but yea he didn’t come across well at all
  5. I wouldn’t want cocu, most of the names linked would be a disappointment other than farke but he did do well with psv and derby were on the slide well before he came in, I wouldn’t 100% go on that spell. It’s not a coyle appointment for me
  6. I’m not advocating for di matteo it’s just whispers Iv heard but he does have a promotion from the league. Also a champs league on his cv, don’t think we could get anyone else with that in their credentials
  7. Yea there has been agent contact. doesn’t mean he is nailed on or anything just that he is interested Stam another who wants a return. dream appointment other than pie in the sky stuff? probably slavan bilic
  8. I am maybe blinded slightly but I wouldn’t be devastated at a Hughes return , some folk are just suited to a team and I felt we were a good fit
  9. I don’t think many if any could complain about farke, although probably wouldn’t be my dream appointment I really couldn’t grumble and with the names at the top of the betting he is who I would choose. I was actually pleased with lambert at the time, it didn’t work out but I can’t say that they have never shown ambition before. still hearing whispers of di matteo being in the mix personally
  10. I really wouldn’t be surprised if the venkys didn’t have a clue about what was going on at Ewood and they just let the remaining stuff muddle by, it could very well be an utter shit show this summer. still I’m delighted mowbray is away , I just hope they have the matter in hand
  11. Galling to think of the points we have thrown away to get to this stage , sheff Utd are taking our place here , we should have had them buried
  12. Wonder if sky will give us good odds on a brereton style goal machine from nowhere next season. I’d be happy to go with 15 if in the hundreds/1
  13. @roversfan99 back in early feb I had a debate with you about pushing buckley further back and you disagreed wanting him to be the false 9 nonsense, well he has just played his best game in a rovers shirt playing deeper, thoughts?
  14. Tried to tell this to some on here at the start of the bad form and they insisted he had to play up top because it helped out press , clueless
  15. Weirdly mowbrays pre match interview looked energised and chipper , a big difference to the last few months and then we get that performance , coincidence?
  16. Great half, it will finish 3-3 tho
  17. As delighted as I am at winning as it’s really fking annoying that we are playing like this now said that we would make a late charge but fall short and this is it hoping it doesn’t keep Tony in a job too
  18. Glad to see you finally agreed to what I said months ago
  19. Iv been patient with buckley, even at times believing the hype, I’m now well off that train of thought , I don’t think he is capable of taking his game to the next level, believe his next move will be down the league rather than premier. Pinging a few nice passes round the middle isn’t going to get you far. If he can’t penetrate or score then he isn’t much. He may press well but so did Jason lowe
  20. Great post, agree with most of it apart from the parts you give mowbray some credit , I didn’t want him on appointment and he has done nothing to show me he was the main to progress us since
  21. I too was told around March time that he was going at the end of last season, I was really surprised when it didn’t happen , I imagine this led to the poor window as nobody quite knew what was happening. The start we had must have been a real shock and in complete contrast to the mayhem going on behind the scenes
  22. Yea but I warned you this is exactly what you were signing up for with mowbray , sadly I was 100% correct
