  1. As much as coyle signed some dross, think bowyer has to take the award for absolute worst buys, albeit he got a few diamonds too. Who was the French lad , petschi? Never heard or seen. Some fridge we had on the books as a youngster came back too, can’t even mind his name
  2. Just watching the boro game, their squad should not be anywhere near the bottom. Got me looking at the teams near the drop and what players I’d nick from them. Know they always say don’t buy from relegated teams but I don’t necessarily go with that. So- boro- saville ayala mcnair assombalonga tavernier stoke- butland Ince charlton- taylor Foster caskey Wigan- byrne Jacobs Moore luton- Can’t say I know too many of them barnsley- Woodrow Chaplin Mowatt
  3. Not sure there is, meant to be an attacking threat that doesn’t chip in with either goals or assists . Looks good without being effective.
  4. 2 points dropped, 3 from 9 when in a great position to get into the playoff places, not good enough I’m afraid, you don’t get to stumble into the playoffs as we are doing just now. Sooner or later we have the hard games and Preston or whoever else has the easier game and wins it and then we are as far away as ever. Glad to see gallagher score and brereton make an impact tho
  5. Said that for weeks mate, doesn’t lift his head, just runs looking to get a shot away everytime when it’s not always best option
  6. Was honestly heartbroken when this fell apart , as a young lad having this exciting foreign coach from Italy was a new dawn. Sadly our back up didn’t turn out too well
  7. Honestly thought he was decent and more threatening than Armstrong, made fair few chances for others
  8. do find a few of these replies a tad disrespectful to Danny Graham, I found the article a little surprising in that I felt gallagher had a good game last night, so why not question the team, forward line or mowbray rather than singling out one player. Graham sticking up for a teammate is fair enough but it never ends well with a twitter spat. Ask Charlie Austin. Better keeping it in-house imo. But let’s draw a line under it and move on before we alienate a loyal and good servant to the club
  9. All of which have been criticised in the press and the stands no less
  10. We lost our player of that calibre in dack but in his absence we need others to step up. More than one way of skinning a cat as they say, an unlocker comes in many forms. Tugay and Dunn were very different styles both both capable of breaking through stern defences. Travis could be more of a say David Thompson , craig hignett kind of unlocker- conmfortable on the ball, can see a pass, can run and strike from -relative- distance
  11. I’d kind of disagree with that, has the ability to drive at defences with his ball carrying and he has shown he can score from around the edge of the box. If he isn’t then we have two sitting defence ball winning midfielders which is useless when we don’t even have wingers to give it to
  12. I find it funny how fans always have a couple of players that can do no wrong- travis and rothwell and some that can do no right- gallagher and evans. i thought trav was poor last night, passing wasn’t to scratch when we needed an unlocker. I have set high standards for him because I believe he can reach those, he was below par for me. likewise rothwell flatters To deceive. To me he is a league 1 show pony where he could look amazing for 10 mins then hiding for 80. Needs to grab these opportunities and take a game by the scruff of the neck- failed last night. downing was another who was poor last night and I feel he has been for a number of weeks. Over used perhaps but he is meant to be a creator and he created nothing. gallagher for me was more involved than Armstrong last night , he ran his channels well, drew fouls , got some headers on target. He was unlucky when Butland made a smart save when he was played through on the angle. Watch around 74 mins, he takes an amazing take down, beats his player and fires a lovely cross in , Armstrong wasn’t anticipating it and the chance was lost. I maintain there is a player there is managed correctly and given the right personnel to work with. A goal sniffer like Rhodes would love working with gallagher as he will set them up and take the big hits. For all armstrong has improved he doesn’t score the close up goals and doesn’t anticipate like a box poacher. stoke aren’t the worst team to be honest, I think they are in a false position and having a terrible season but still some very good players there Id have here. It’s just in our situation we need to be turning these games into wins
  13. 100%, and why I criticised the hull performance so much despite the end result. Make no mistake this game was hull mark 2, it just so happened that stoke didn’t have the u21s in defence and so held out rigidly to the end. We need to create much more and break down teams easier when we have so much ‘dominance’. A midfield pass ball around does nothing. for what its worth and going against the wave of criticism , I thought gallagher had a decent game apart from he needs to add goals more regularly now. Some nice lay offs and hold up play. Makes a nuisance of himself. But yes I know he is a striker brought here to score and he does need to notch more
  14. The result I feared against hull, completely toothless. Playoffs bye bye, Fulham and forest are now gone.
  15. Happier with a banging performance though and a win of course.
  16. Course I do, I was pointing out errors in the jubilation at the hull game, we need to be more clinical in these games if we are to be playoffs
  17. Don’t worry, we will score 2 late goals and you will all be rejoicing at what a great performance it was ala hull
  18. Nothing really, but boro think they are entitled to be a bigger club, Huddersfield for the season we went down and they laughed, hull just because it’s scabby and they thought they were safe, sold their best players and now in danger
  19. Bottom teams making a fight of it, would love boro, hull or Huddersfield to drop
  20. For the first time in mowbrays tenure I actually seen some sort of style on Saturday, I mean it was a give up possession and hit on the break kind of style which goes against his supposed keep ball good football style everyone seems to suggest he brings but a style and method all the same.
  21. Honestly can’t complain about the result today and thought we played about as well I could’ve hoped. Was ashame their goal came when it did as we looked to have weathered the storm well and could see out the game. Came from absolutely nothing. Their pen wasn’t a pen but Johnson shouldn’t have gave the ref the option. Up until then I felt we got the majority of the refs decisions who I thought was shocking to both throughout. Thought travis was immense, has became a very important player for us. Walton and nyambe were also very good. Armstrong took his goals well but I still think he needs to lift his head at times - evident in his one v one , not looking for the correct side of the keeper. But happy with his progress. very few negatives but thought downing was poor, even right at the death he had the opportunity to fire a corner in and instead lofted it to the edge of their box which nearly set them on a breakaway. johnson was the player I hoped we had signed but as mentioned rash on the pen and was a bit overly dirty at times. buckley- still to make my mind up if I like him or not to be honest. Neat and tidy but needs to show a bit more. though gallagher looked decent when he came on, relieved some pressure from our box and was unlucky with a run into theirs. im not as confident as most against stoke and Swansea but if we can take 6 points from them, it’s game on
  22. I’d take it, disappointed after leading by two but a worldie and a non pen so the lads done well to hold on from that. Ours wasn’t exactly a pen either. Happy with the point in the end. Thought arma might have been on right at the death
  23. It wasn’t offside and a great hit, give the lad some credit. Time to test our resolve
