  1. Travis played in both (and was our best player yesterday imo).
  2. Southampton just scored a freekick that was never a foul, our keeper should have done better though. We're 2-0 down but we are playing pretty well.
  3. U23s beat Villa 3-0 away and go top of the table, Johnson won't be here much longer if he carries on.
  4. Yet he signed 17 year old Harper, and chucked him into a big game away at Scunthorpe out of position , genius.
  5. The problem is that Mowbray will be managing them on Tuesday. In the last two Checkatrade games, the u23s that have played in them haven't looked anywhere near as good as they look for the u23s (not that they were any worse than the first team players). I put this down to Mowbray doing absolutely no work on the tactics for these games, which means that the u23s don't really know what their roles are, whereas Johnson looks like he meticulously works on tactics before each game, so the players know exactly what they are supposed to do. Don't be surprised if you come away disappointed on Tuesday.
  6. Do you think Johnson would do a worse job than what Mowbray is doing?
  7. U23s beating Watford 3-0 55 minutes in, does anyone really think that Johnson would do any worse than Mowbray? Or does anyone think that Mowbray would be getting results like this if he was the u23 manager? Edit: 5-0, 61 minutes gone
  8. I don't think u23 bans count for the first team anyway.
  9. Just for treatment you mean? Hopefully he does as our medical staff seem incompetent. If you mean permanently, I doubt it because he's here until the end of the season isn't he?
  10. Beating Stoke 2-0 about 70 mins in and 4 of our better players aren't playing, Johnson doing himself no harm.
  11. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer is he? No chance we'll be going up under him.
  12. This is the best thread I've ever seen on here
  13. U23s with another good win last night, 2-0 away at Newcastle. Johnson has done a brilliant job and should be a candidate for the first team job when Mowbray leaves.
  14. There are numerous different reasons why I believe that Mowbray is thick, but this is right up there. We were crying out for someone like that who would have been perfect playing next to Mulgrew (especially after Lenihan's injury), but Mowbray thought that Ward was a capable partner for Mulgrew, absolutely clueless. Other reasons (off the top of my head) are; playing Feeney on the left, bringing on Mahoney for Bennett when 1-0 against Preston, signing Whittingham, telling the press that we did zero preparation for a 1st team game (where fans paid money to go and see), and taking Dack off against Gillingham.
  15. Finished 2-2, sounds like a silly sending off from Tomlinson cost them the win.
  16. Nuttall scored 2 already tonight, u23s are at Brighton away. Why the @#/? is he playing now and not tomorrow?
  17. I apologise if that's the case, it is difficult to pick up what is and what isn't banter on a message board, it came across as if you were being a smart arse... the point of my post is still true though, if you don't trust someone to start a game then it doesn't make sense to trust him when you're 1-0 up.
  18. ? Are you suggesting that last night proves that Chapman shouldn't be starting or are you just a bit thick?
  19. So in one article he says that both Chapman isn't good enough defensively and he's at his best when we are defending a lead?? Which is it Mowbray? At least he likes to think he's very astute tactically . I would have thought that bringing on a player like Bennett would be a better idea when 1-0 up than bringing on a lad who is supposedly a liability defensively. Imagine a Mourinho, for example, bringing on a Martial when he's defending a lead, it doesn't happen. Sack him.
  20. It's getting to the point where I would be disappointed if we gave the 1st team job to anyone but Johnson if Mowbray leaves.
  21. 2-0 up against Fulham with 4 regulars missing, including Doyle, Tomlinson and Hardcastle, yet they aren't good enough to even be considered for the 1st team... Mowbray out, Johnson in.
  22. Travis starts tonight for the u23s, I'm rapidly losing patience with Mowbray.
  23. Kinder has been at Rovers twice... not sure if he was a coach when Lowe was a kid but there must be some reason why he had a picture of Lowe in his office.
  24. Lowe never had good potential and only made it to pro level by sucking up to his coaches (Kinder), absolute fraud of a player.
  25. He's definitely worth a place on the bench (as he can play in a number of different positions) and a go in the 1st XI if Caddis/Nyambe aren't playing well. One of the best prospects in a team of good prospects.
