  1. I thought that the standard was incredibly poor for two of the best teams in the Championship and that we have absolutely nothing to fear.
  2. Yeah that might be it, they might add in an extra year to give him a bit of security as well. I can’t say I blame them, he shouldn't be on the £20k+ that he’ll be on if we activate the extension. £10-13k would be more realistic imo, although I can definitely see him making more than that elsewhere so we will possibly be without Graham next season?
  3. They must be asking Graham to take a pay cut or they would just activate the extra year extension. Does that mean that Mowbray thinks he’s being paid too much for the contribution he will make in the coming season or does it mean that there’s not much money in the coffers?
  4. He’s played 38 games in all comps.
  5. And in those 10 games he proved he was way to good for League 1 and helped get us promoted . I have been to 90% of all games this season and watched the other 10% on ifollow, Nyambe offers zilch going forward. I get that you like Nyambe but you don’t have to lie about his abilities. Did he even get one assist? In my list of the players that are too good for league 1 I missed out Raya, another big reason why we got promoted.
  6. Rubbish. We haven’t had a settled two all season, Evans is poor, Smallwood has been poor during the second half of the season, Bennett only played there during the second half of the season, and Whittingham has been a disaster. We won promotion because we have a few players who are way too good for this league (Dack, Mulgrew, Graham, Bennett & Lenihan) and Armstrong was on fire for a couple of months. Nyambe brings nothing going forward and imo isn’t good enough to be playing in a decent Championship side.
  7. He’s only wasted at right back if your midfield is poor, as ours has been most of the season. His attributes are perfectly suited to playing full back.
  8. He hasn’t been on his game since January, he’s looked pretty poor. I also think he’d be a bit too slow for the increased pace of the Championship. Bennett could be treated as a CM but I think he’s a cracking right back and will be one of the best in the Championship there. At the end of the day it all depends on our ambition, if we just want to stay up, Smallwood is probably good enough, if we want to have a go at getting in the top half, Smallwood probably isn’t good enough. I’d like to see us use this momentum to have a proper go next season like Sheffield United.
  9. Surely it’s more risky starting the season with a player in central midfield who isn’t up to it? We know that from experience. Preseason is about getting new players used to playing in the side.
  10. Would you want a new goalkeeper if Mowbray wanted one? What about a new left back?
  11. I hope we sign Armstrong and Chapman but would they both be starting wingers in the Championship? I really like Armstrong but he is a striker and didn’t seem to do great at Bolton in the Champ.
  12. Starting XI wise I reckon we need two new central midfielders, two new wingers and a striker for next season. I don’t think Smallwood will cut it in the Championship though he would be decent backup. Graham could play some games but I wouldn’t really want to rely on him as our first choice striker. We possibly need a new left back but I would like to see Bell given a go. My team: Raya Bennett Lenihan Mulgrew Bell New (Hibs lad?) New New Dack New Graham/New
  13. No, one comment in 7 years makes 0 difference. Yes because if Farron was more vocal on Rovers he'd have lost of the backing from his party, because Venky's ownership of Rovers is such a controversial and contentious issue. Jack and Will Straw are both in the same boat as Farron. Graham Jones showed how it's done but obviously he doesn't have the playform that Farron did.
  14. I don't like him in the first place which makes me more cynical, but I've been very disappointed that someone who calls himself a Rovers fan in such a high profile position has been so quiet when we've been crying out for someone to help us out. Farron hasn't cut the mustard in that regard.
  15. He's been seen at Rovers so he's 100% factually a Rovers fan? Yeah I forgot that it was so unbelievably difficult to get tickets nowadays that only people with a long history of buying Rovers tickets can get one . The last paragraph literally happened with Cameron, when he pretended to be 'just your ordinary Villa fan' and it eventually turned out that he forgot whether he was a Villa or West Ham fan. One or two comments in 7 years is pretty much meaningless. If I was in the public eye, I wouldn't have shut up about it. As much as I don't like to say it, Alastair Campbell is a good example of a true football fan in the public eye, Farron isn't.
  16. Why would he appear on Celebrity Mastermind pretending to be a Rover? Why would a politician go on BBC at primetime to show that he's 'just an ordinary bloke'? Isn't it obvious? For the same reason that Cameron pretended to be a Villa fan.
  17. I'd have thought this board would be Farron fans, seeing as you chased anyone with a different political leaning off the board a few years ago. If Farron is a Rovers fan (which he isn't) it makes it even worse that he's been so quiet on our plight, given his prominence.
  18. Fallon the former defence secretary? That's a new one to me, interesting. Your post is hilariously ironic.
  19. He's kept the blue flag flying high has he? Where? He's been one of the most publicly prominent Rovers fans in the last 5 years or so and I haven't heard a peep, w@nker.
  20. You are the first Rovers fan I have ever heard that has seen him at a game... I stand corrected. He's still been absolutely clueless on the goings on at Rovers every time I've heard him questioned on it.
  21. Gallagher goes to the Rovers, everyone knows he's been, Derbyshire goes to the Rovers, everyone knows he's been, Tim Farron goes to the Rovers, no one knows he's been... strange that, does he wear a disguise? Camouflage?
  22. Has anyone ever seen him at Rovers? The guy is a complete pillock, as much of a Rovers supporter as Cameron was Villa. Anyone, Rovers fan or not, could have got those questions right with a few days of revising.
  23. Different Doyle, Tyrone. Left back Doyle is called Jack. Charley Doyle has played as the right of 3 centre backs in the games that I have seen, he doesn't look like a footballer at all but is weirdly quite good.
  24. It's a joke that Travis hasn't been on the bench much in recent weeks, he's a perfect substitute.
  25. Tomorrow should be a perfect chance for us to see which kid should be above the other in the pecking order, I hope it is Tomlinson (as he is our own) and he gets an extended run in the side.
