  1. Yep basically saying we will sign you if you want but you will be backup to Dack and should not expect to start.
  2. Made the team of the season so I would assume he is a regular starter.
  3. I would have him back even as backup for Dack but not sure he is the right man to start on either side of him. Still, young, plenty of resale potential and has some Championship experience.
  4. They should have just bought Messi, Ronaldo and Bale when they came in and be done with it for that kind money...pretty sure we would not be in this mess now. When will this end? How will this end?
  5. "Couldn't make it up" is another. I just feel sorry for somebody that is more obsessed with us than we are. He must refresh the LET allday long.
  6. There will not be big investment. Yeah they splashed the cash in league 1 terms..of a mil and a half, to do the same in this league they would have to shell out 30 mil - more chance in me finally having an orgy with Cheryl Cole (before she got ultra-thin), Ariana Grande, that bird from the new wonder woman movie and Alexandrea Daddario (dont get me started). To be honest, nor would I even want that kind of investment judging on how wrong it has gone in the past. Build on what we have and keep hold of the best that we have. Buy potential and not has-beens...simples.
  7. Nah consolidate, hope the winning mentality and team bond remains. Strengthen and build a base for the following year or two.
  8. Dack wins goal of the season https://twitter.com/Rovers/status/992800990498783232
  9. Come on - im not even slating here. Just trying to level out the love-in.
  10. You laugh Caddy but he does talk sense here. Dack, Smalwood and who else has proved to be a good perm signing? Whittingham, Hart (or whatever his name is, so bad i dont care), Caddis, Samuel and Gladwin. Dack, Smallwood and possibly Downing, thats like 30% success rate.
  11. Wont be on much up their either, so we dont exactly have to lay out big wages. Better than what he is getting though...obviously.
  12. Yep, hope its true. Sounds a solid signing, especially on a pre-contract. Called up for Scotland recently too and was apparent interest from Celtic. Could work well alongside Smallwood doing the gritty side of things while this guy knocks it around.
  13. Dictates play and the tempo of the game from what I hear. Solid passer but not too much of a scorer or assister. Hibs fans love him and he was their POTY - so must be something in him. Glaswegian Iniesta apparently - hope thats more accurate than the Scottish Rooney.
  14. Well, if this is true - TM is already at work. Great stuff, we normally have to wait until a week before the end of the window before anything is done.
  15. If we are going for out of contract Scotland internationals, Oli McBurnie would be a good shout. Think Derby are hot on his trail though.
  16. Didnt someone mention this guy on here before? Was called up for the last Scotland squad apparently but had to withdraw due to an adductor (that word again) injury.
  17. Both would be quality signings but I think out of our reach. Palace were chasing Marriot in January and had big bids turned down. They will want top dollar for those two.
  18. Bell should be the new LB with Williams cover there and for CB too. Think we have to be smart with our dealings as I will be very surprised if we got more than double last season for transfers. 3 mil, and that will be for 2 or 3 perms, some out of contracts and loans.
  19. True i guess, i would imagine it should come down to the manager to evaluate signings like that - there are certainly a few mercenaries in the PL.
  20. But lately we have been more miss than hit in this regard. Plus, we were in the PL back then - less chance of getting it wrong because who doesnt want to play in one of the worlds biggest leagues. Murphy and Etuhu were asked to drop a league, so realising they could no longer get a gig in the top league would have instantly told them their career is now pretty much over - lets get a gig with whoever will pay us the most. I would also put it down to the manager at the time who obviously knew nothing about anything. i would imagine TM would be able to spot the right type no matter the age. Whittingham is a little different from those main two and I would not bunch him in with them yet as he has struggled with injury and finding it difficult to get back in the team. Besides all of the above, there is no resale value on players at that age. Surely in our financial position, getting players in that are hungry and that have the potential to increase their value would be the better option for this club. GB was very good at this and TM has already done that with Dack.
