Pickering’s 2nd assist of the season…

Ridiculous decision. This is an example of where I believe TM fails to trust our academy players, despite the plaudits he has for playing young players. This would be the perfect opportunity to give one of our top prospects game time and too see what he’s about. Buckley at RWB is a recipe for disaster.

Hughton always beats us. Can’t see that changing today as this is just a typical game that Blackburn lose. 7 points from 3 would be our best start to a season in probably over a decade - hence why we’ll probably lose and end up with an average 4. On top of that Forest will be desperate for a win with them currently sitting on 0 points - they’ll be up for it and I don’t see us matching that. Would love to see BigBen take the game by the scruff of the neck and show his old team what they are missing. Him turning up is key to us having any chance in this game as he’s our only player, other than Rothwell, that can truly be relied on to make something happen in the final third. Anyone know what our following for this game is?

Kean Bryan would be a class free agent signing. Was very decent for Sheffield United last season in the Prem - he turned down a new deal with them. Can’t see him coming our way if Boro and Warnock are interested.

Fulham mates now saying there local sources claiming there’s interest - still can’t see it happening with Munoz set to join them.

This is a non starter. Two of my closest mates are die hard fulham fans and claim they are about to sign a Brazilian striker named Munoz (?) for about 7m. No way they go in for Obafemi after him and already owning mitrovic.

Although this is ‘young prem loan’ it’s a signing which I’m behind. Midfield is a position we are desperately short in and this lad comes with strong reviews supported by his involvement around the liverpool first team for the past 12 months. As a Blackburn fan you know he’s going to give it his all. It’s a good start, albeit a very late one.

Sadly I’m not gonna be able to keep up with this game as I’m going to be mid flight. Hope to land to a Rovers win! It’s the right team, though I worried that we may struggle against Millwalls physicality and Ariel threat. Expecting a draw.

100% this is my point. Trust our academy players > trust other teams academy players. Furthermore as a rovers fan I would much rather watch a team filled with our own young players rather than another teams. Importantly it saves us money.

I don’t disagree that he gives youth a chance. I just think sometimes he shows a reluctance to take a chance on them and trust in their ability. For example travis I felt was a player who could of helped us in league one, yet he hardly played until halfway through the following championship season. Chapman is another example, again in the league one season he was impacting games and exciting fans from the bench but he never got a start. Players like Buckley, Carter and even Wharton haven’t been trusted as much as they could have been. My main point about being frustrated with TM loaning out our young academy players stems from the fact they will just be replaced by young prem loans. Why give them the chance in out first team and not our own?

This frustrates me. Butterworth and Carter could 100% play an important role for us this season. Carter has already proven himself in league one while Butterworth has shown his ability in the limited appearances he’s had. TM is so scared to trust our academy players.

Would love to see us try and sign Dike.

While this will probably happen either way this is probably as unreliable as sources go

11 goals in league one doesn’t seem to be mind blowing. Can’t say I’ve any knowledge of him as a player. What do you know about him? Wouldn’t of minded Kirk from Crewe.

People are really being harsh on Obafemi. I have no doubt that he is a player who will succeed in the championship. He is young with a great physical attributes, and has had an impact on prem league games on the occasions he has come off bench. Furthermore we are not outright ‘paying’ for him as explained by above.
