  1. Getting chapman back would be a very good move. It's easy to see his potential and he is worth the gamble imo. He's also been impressive for Boro in pre season. People forget that we didn't have Armstrong for the full season, and we hardly had chapman at all. Along with that I think palmer is an excellent addition and Davenport COULD be very good. We are definitely stronger than last season, although I would say the league is a bigger improvement compared to the improvement of the squad. That was always gonna be the case sadly, that just means the existing players will have to step there game up, and I have trust in TM to get the best out of them. Having said all that, get a centre forward on a perm deal tomorrow is essential in my eyes.
  2. Funny game this, a win makes it a really good start, a loss makes it a poor one and a draw probably satisfies expectations. Along with it our opposition is abit of a unknown quality. On paper I would say we have a better team, however Millwall were 4 mins away from beating Boro 2 Nil on sat, who themselves beat Sheff United 3 nil last night. To add to that they finished as one of the form teams last season and are probably still running on a high from that, so I'd say it isn't the best time to play them, will be a difficult game. The team I would like us to see us play is: Raya Nyambe - Lenihan - Mulgrew - Bell Travis - Bennett Palmer - Dack - Armstrong Graham However I fully expect TM to play the same as he did at Ipswich.
  3. Lennon has just confirmed that it's between villa and Celtic for Mccgin with villa being in the driving seat. So that's that one ruled out. Sharpe has seemed to indicate that something could happen today, anyone any idea?
  4. I was under the impression Mccgin would only come in if Grealish was sold as they have quite a few midfieldiers.
  5. Hoping for 2 quality perm signings before the deadline closes. Will be dissapointed if we don't pay some seven firgure fees. I think a wide man and striker are priorities. However if the chance to sign someone who improves our squad significantly at a decent price, someone like Mccgin, then would like to see us take that chance.
  6. Sky say Mccgin is at Villa for talks but no fee has been agreed. It also says the player and hibs want him to move to the championship. So still seems we could sneak in there if we wanted but there doesn't seem to be any urgency from us to do so. If we really wanted him we would of made our move by now so think it's time to leave that one. Anyone have any idea who might actually be coming in?
  7. It's ridiculous how clubs get away with it, it almost feels like the smaller clubs suffer a lot more than the larger ones when ffp was brought in to close that gap.
  8. Yep seems like McGinn is joining Villa. Bit gutting but probally was out of reach anyways.
  9. So there are a couple of players mentioned on here who we are supposedly looking at. The potential of Mccgin signing is the one name which gets me genuinely excited as it would be a massive statement of intent. Which is probably why It won't end up happening! I think a back up centre forward is the key signing needed, so I fully expect that to happen before the window closes. There doesn't seem to be many names going around who this could be tho. I reckon charlton will hold there ground on Bauer, could be one to watch in January. I also think we have enough cover in defensive at least until January for us to cope with that we have. A natural wideman would also be welcome but I think we do have cover there now, I'd love to see Maddison come in tho. Although there hasn't been any substantial link from us to him. Interestingly the players talked about on here are probaly unlikely to sign so it's gonna be an interesting couple of days.
  10. Sharpe has said that the club is hopeful of at least one more perm signing before Thursday. Which doesn't sound too great as I think we need 3 as a minimium.
  11. Whatever formation we play Dack simply must have that free role behind the striker. He is our key man and can make somthing happen on a consistent basis. He presses aswell and works really hard off the ball. He offers too much in that role to be dropped deeper or less centrally.
  12. Hibs fans think the world of him. Seem to belive he can go on a similar path to Robertson now at Liverpool. Another reason they love him along with his playing ability is his attitude, has kicked up no fuss this summer despite repeated bids. Surely fits TM ethos. We need a standout midfieldier in my eyes, and Mccgin would be perfect. Just doubt it has much legs init.
  13. Great news regarding Armstrong. We are now a stronger squad that last season and have some needed pace in the team. My hope now would be for 3 more permanent additions to the team this week with 2 having real quality. In an ideal world that for me would be Maddison and Mccgin, along with a striker who can provide back up to Graham. Maddison would give us a lot of quality out wide and Mccgin would take our midfield up a few notches, I feel our midfield is full of players who are at a similar low level championship standard, although I do think travis could go beyond that. Meanwhile Mccgin is prem quality imo and I expect him to end up there rather than us, but I can dare to hope.
  14. Expect business to really heat up tomorrow. It's gonna be manic week, there'll be panic buys along with winners and losers. We've got to make sure we're one of the winners. Have got to say if Ipswich get Maddison on top of Edwards I for one will be jealous.
  15. I see sky has noted the links from us to Mccgin. Would be amazed if we could pull it off, sharpe certainly didn't rule it out.
  16. Are we expecting 3 in including Armstrong or on top of Armstrong? If we could get a quality winger like Maddison a decent enough back up striker to support Graham and Mcgin I honestly thing we could have an outside play off chance. We do need quality tho who ever we bring in not squad players.
  17. Cheers! Mayby reports that we wanted Mcgeoch were wide of the mark, and it was actually McGinn we wanted. They both begin with Mcg at least!
  18. Has Sharpe actually said that McGinn is a deal to watch?
  19. Think sky reported that Hibs wanted around 2.5 million, think he will end up at Brighton.
  20. While we are well stocked in CM McGin would be an increidible signing as he would be far superior to anything we have for that position. Strangely tho it's probably our best stocked position, so surely someone would have to leave. Thinking realistically tho that link isn't likely to have any kind of substance and I'm pretty sure Brighton are close to agreeing a fee. Can't see it happening especially as I imagine forward areas are a priority.
  21. We were unlucky today. Their goal was a fluke and we looked fairly comfortable, thought we were gonna see it out so it is gutting. Thought we looked aggressive and also threatening on the ball however we did tire in the last 10 mins so. Think the team showed we can compete and with 1 or 2 quality signings, which is expected, we will be alright. Despite the disappointment of losing out on 3 points, a point away from home is a decent result. Hope we can get a win next weekend and get that first win in the bag.
  22. This mb has changed its tune quickly, myself included! Feels great to be ahead, even better with our key men getting off the mark
  23. If anyone has a link to watch the game please pm it to me
  24. To be fair, I reckon if he was fully fit then palmer would 100% be in the team, at least he'll give us something positive from the bench.
  25. Regarding Maddison I'll believe it when I see it. Been led on by their chairman too many times summer thinking we are signing him.
