Again RF99 ..nothing stopping those WANTING to or in a financial position to make a donation to the club if happy to and they think its for the good of the club . By buying something that may not exist and the reluctance for refunds over four games last season anyone signing up to a ST right now are running the risk of "donating" 350 quid. So go ahead give the club the money. As for the moral stance maybe the club is or aint thinking that way who knows . The logistics of also fitting in 8500 ST into the ground isnt straight forward either. People WILL have to swap seats if not stands ..lots of people sat towards the ends of possibly four stands with views that arent the best because people may have to sit say three to four seats apart on a row and possibly the club may have to miss a row out every other row backwards to so call social distance .There will be a lot not willing to sign up for this and quite rightly are awaiting just to see how the hell seating arrangements will work before paying up front. The question is would people hand over money for say a new car or T.V. only to be told sorry its doesnt exist at the moment and if it doesnt materialise you could lose your money ..but thank you all the same..? A ST is after all an actual product.

Of course there should have been an option for a refund...or the nine games on ifollow. I wasnt interested in the refund ..i chose in my own head the ifollow will do for the remainder of the season ..and id two ST holder in the householder so lost out twice if i wanted to think that way. But do i want to cough up 700 quid for two season tickets now and get lumbered with an iFollow package ? No ..if i want just iFollow id buy it and not bother attending games! The bottom line is there is no product to buy. Doesnt mean i wont buy one ! Will you get to sit in the stand you want ? Will you get to/be allowed to sit with friends ? Sit with family ? how can all these questions be answered until the club know the situation in hand and work out a system ?

Maybe because Luton ST holders got a refund for last season they have more faith in putting their money back in on the understanding they will again get a refund for games not attended. , Meanwhile ..we didnt have that option yet some are asking to throw the club 350 quid with no idea what they get for that or will ever see it again if the season is a non starter for attending supporters.

But surely staying in the Championship makes Wigan a more desirable club to buy ???

Yes the club are cash strapped ..like most clubs outside the PL but maybe ..just maybe the club are looking at the bigger picture for once with a moral outlook ie ..the area is cash strapped ..a potential full lockdown may be in the offing ..how can we ask these people to part with cash for something we dont even know how its going to work or even if it will exist ?? I think whats happened this year has wiped out any loyalty and tribalism that was out there. Too many outside influences has eroded that. Different situation to what many clubs (and more importantly people) have ever had to comprehend with . dont underestimate that. You mention IFollow as a possible alternative. Youre asking then for people to pay upfront for something that may not happen but yet you get IFollow again if all else fails. The uproar over Four home games being reimbursed by IFollow i think made a statement. Not many are going to pay for a ST upfront to be left wih IFollow ...again! As for defering your ST until the following season ...is most definetley in the same bracket as saying we ve cancelled your holiday Roversfan99 this year ...but ..youre good t go next Summer ..ifffff alls welll .....Cheers Jet2 ..!

Your not ranting at all...TomPhil...i appreciate the reply ..and different opinion..but the bottom line is ..just what product can you sell ..stimulate .. when it doesnt exist just yet ? My previous post mentions the previous pre season debate on how to get more ST holders onboard ? Thats when we had a product to sell ..free buses ..free pie owt ..but how can you you sell something that at the moment doesnt exist. Again ill go back to fact that many ST holders on here wanted their money back for this seasons four Home games back and were up in arms because the Club denied them that but the club offered nine games on IFollow and still they wanted their money back. Yet you want them to sign up for a season thats so vague its untrue ..the club got slated for promoting the cardboard cut outs yet every club up and down the country did the same ? Damned if they do damned if they dont

Stimulate in what way Phil ?? ..after the last few days there may not even be a product to stimulate ST holders. Go back 3 months and the up roar on here that ST holders wanted and couldnt get a refund for just four home games and now we all want "stimulating" to chuck 350 quid for something that may not happen ? Im a season ticket holder for over 30 years ..i love the match day experience ..and thats what you pay for ..a match day experience. Think of the bigger picture instead of simply trying to hang the club out to dry ..

But for the majority of fans in very uncertain times healthwise and financially they want some form of plan/working structure in place first before handing over 350 quid ..and quite rightly so..a lot of us may not have jobs come the end of October. The last 48 hours again has proved what a fluid situation this is regarding Covid in just this area alone ..fair play to the club regardless of financial difficulties they are supposedly in by waiting as long as possible to try and for-see a working solution which would allow paying fans back in . Again any fans willing to give up 350 quid for something that may not exist fair play ..obviously they dont really need the cash.

Well if fans are more than willing and happy to tip up 350 quid for something that may not even happen ..put it in an envelope ... go down Ewood and simply donate it to the club ..
