  1. Nice one! Yeah, it was basically a Yorkshire project, especially with Bradford's exceptional 'City Gent' featured (the oldest surviving football fanzine), but really glad they asked us and others further afield to contribute something. Nice story too about Derek Fazackerley's niece (and Yorkshire cricketer) Rebecca Duckworth seeing Faz in the mag when she visited!
  2. About 20 of 32 first-round ties have been shown so far (they're releasing one episode per day). Might be mid-July until the next Rovers one then!
  3. Fittingly, £95 has been donated to Diabetes UK and £95 is going to the Bone Cancer Research Trust, after Glenn Entwistle and Jen Bellamy inspired the Anfield '95 feature in Issue 113. Thanks to everyone who bought a copy to help raise the funds! Jen's 'Team Clyde Trophy Walk' from Liverpool to Ewood is this Sunday - more details and the fundraising page is here. And don't forget the latest podcast - Remembering 1995!
  4. Huge thanks to everyone who has bought a copy of Issue 113 this month – £160 raised for Diabetes UK and the Bone Cancer Research Trust so far. Still have copies available to add to the total. 5. No worries! You can get Issue 113 posted by ordering on BRFCS HERE or on our CARTEL SITE. No long-term subscriptions are currently on offer, but some back issues are still available via the second link. Thanks.
  6. It's been a while but Issue 113 of 4,000 Holes is now on sale for the "significant investment" of £2. It can be purchased on BRFCS HERE, in BIG CARTEL HERE or via EBAY HERE. For every copy sold, 30p goes to Diabetes UK and 30p goes to the Bone Cancer Research Trust. Please note that this is a standalone issue and not part of a previous subscription. It will also be available to buy on Kidder Street before the forthcoming home matches. Includes... Let’s Parler Franglais avec Rudy et Valérien, Keeping Up with the Loanees, New Manager Bounces (and Burst Balloons), Your Rovers Horoscope, From The Terraces, Venky’s Mossing About With Rovers, Top 10: Dark Arts, Waiting for Aynsley, 101 Great Goals, The Steps to the Top, Everybody Loves Sammy Chung, Programme Passions, The Fresh Legs Effect, Ronnie Clayton tribute... and Anfield ’95 Revisited – we track down faces from the Rovers away end!
  7. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread - glad to read some happy memories during these times! "Anfield '95 Revisited" forms a big part of the brand new Issue 113 which is available to buy on BRFCS HERE or on BIGCARTEL HERE. We reveal the story behind the below photo and also track down the 'famous' Rovers fan who had been "waiting 30 years for Sky Sports to contact me!"
  8. You can of course put forward those - superb shouts! But goals only get inducted to the list with an article😅 If you're keen to write a short piece about either for April's issue, then please fire it over to roversfanzine@gmail.com
  9. Number 21 on the list is Alan Shearer's crucial late equaliser at Coventry during the 1994/95 title run-in. If anyone wants their own favourite added to the collection, please email roversfanzine@gmail.com with a write-up and we'll publish it in the forthcoming April issue of 4,000 Holes! https://www.brfcs.com/articles/101-goals-shearers-mission/2145
  10. New fanzine coming out in spring. Hoping to celebrate 14th May 1995 by hearing some supporter stories from the day, especially if you were at Anfield and featured in any of the footage. So many questions! Who had the Greece flag?! Full suit, shirt and tie combo? A Liverpool shirt? Umbro Top Guy telling Flowers it's 1-1 at Upton Park! Recognise anyone? Already tracked down 5 names, including Martin Smith and Andy "fucking hell" Jones from the iconic post-Redknapp image. Any more insight or tales are very much appreciated!
  11. Surreal😂 Definitely a European anyway. Decimal point rather than a comma used as a thousands separator ("Moore is making 35.000 a week")🕵️‍♂️
  12. The 20th entry to the collection is Morten Gamst Pedersen's dink at Portsmouth 20 years ago today... https://www.brfcs.com/articles/101-great-goals-morten-gamst-pedersen/2124
  13. The entry of Benni McCarthy's goal against Liverpool on Boxing Day 2006... but of course this is all about Tugay and Steven Gerrard! https://www.brfcs.com/articles/101-great-goals:-benni-mccarthy/2107
  14. The definitive (?!) Rovers Top 20 Boxing Day classics in this article! Any missing which need adding or others which need moving up the rankings?! https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/blackburn-rovers-top-20:-boxing-day-classics/600
  15. BLAKE SUPERIOR... incredible headline!!👏 Had always thought BLAKE'S HEAVEN was the only good one for this!
  16. New article about long winning sequences in Rovers history.... could Eustace match Howard Kendall? https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/kendallian-times/627
  17. For the last few years, 4,000 Holes has been establishing a ‘101 Great Goals’ collection. These have been put forward as fanzine articles by a variety of Rovers supporters – please email roversfanzine@gmail.com with a write-up to get yours included! The rules are very relaxed. It can be a Goal of the Season contender, a promotion-winning strike, a scrappy effort which broke a goalscoring duck, or one which is memorable for any other obscure reason. Some maverick has even added a couple of goals scored against Rovers into the list! On that note, here's Matt Le Tissier's induction from this day 30 years ago. The best goal Ewood has ever seen? https://www.brfcs.com/articles/101-great-goals:-matt-le-tissier/2097
  18. Huge thanks to Bruce Wilkinson for thoroughly researching the inconsistencies about the birth year of Rovers and putting together this comprehensive article, which has been published today. Mystery solved then....😆 Please visit: https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/blackburn-rovers-the-origins/578
  19. Some random bits of trivia after the weekend's action: https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/norwich-city-v-blackburn-rovers-in-numbers/558
  20. Compiled a few interesting facts and figures about the Derby match in this article… https://brfcs.com/magazine/articles/blackburn-rovers-v-derby-county-in-numbers/556
  21. Happy 90th Birthday to the one and only Bryan Douglas. Please enjoy an account of one of Duggie's wondergoals by Fred Cumpstey, which has been published on the site today: https://brfcs.com/magazine/articles/101-great-goals:-bryan-douglas/547
  22. Jim Branagan did manage 5 goals in 337 appearances - so not exactly a Ryan Nyambe! Scored against: Rotherham (A) 5/2/80, Newcastle (H) 1/5/82, Wolves (H) 15/1/83, Oldham (H) 20/10/84, Shrewsbury (H) 7/2/87. For reference, here's the one he's not been credited with against Bury:
  23. Simon Garner HITS BACK at any plans to take away one of his goals😆
