New article about long winning sequences in Rovers history.... could Eustace match Howard Kendall? https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/kendallian-times/627 -
For the last few years, 4,000 Holes has been establishing a ‘101 Great Goals’ collection. These have been put forward as fanzine articles by a variety of Rovers supporters – please email roversfanzine@gmail.com with a write-up to get yours included! The rules are very relaxed. It can be a Goal of the Season contender, a promotion-winning strike, a scrappy effort which broke a goalscoring duck, or one which is memorable for any other obscure reason. Some maverick has even added a couple of goals scored against Rovers into the list! On that note, here's Matt Le Tissier's induction from this day 30 years ago. The best goal Ewood has ever seen? https://www.brfcs.com/articles/101-great-goals:-matt-le-tissier/2097

Simon Garner's Club Record
4,000 Holes replied to 4,000 Holes's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Jim Branagan did manage 5 goals in 337 appearances - so not exactly a Ryan Nyambe! Scored against: Rotherham (A) 5/2/80, Newcastle (H) 1/5/82, Wolves (H) 15/1/83, Oldham (H) 20/10/84, Shrewsbury (H) 7/2/87. For reference, here's the one he's not been credited with against Bury: -

Fascinating bit of Rovers trivia here about Simon Garner's club record 192 Rovers goals. As revealed by 4,000 Holes this season, it appears that one goal in 1980 was incorrectly credited to him – so should the true record be 191 goals? Full details in this article: https://brfcs.com/magazine/articles/the-phantom-garner-goal/546 It's not quite "were Rovers actually founded in 1874?!" but any information, explanations or opinions about this mystery would be greatly appreciated!

Please join the applause at 37 minutes on Saturday in tribute to Glenn Entwistle, a huge Rovers fan and regular contributor to the fanzine. Glenn very sadly passed away this month, aged just 37, and our thoughts continue to be with his family and friends. He will be missed massively. Meanwhile, enjoy reading ‘Confessions of a Teenage Mascot’ – one of our favourites from the fanzine archive. Glenn’s tremendous personality shines through.
