  1. Maybe a good time to talk predictions; looking at our 5 league games in August, about the best I’m seeing is 1 win, 1 tie, 3 losses. Sadly, it looks like our two at Ewood (Swans, WBA) will be wipeouts.
  2. Totally agree. I’m not a good one to speak, as I live in Texas, but I agree that the fans need to support the club- ala, Portsmouth, or Sunderland, in spite of middling to poor play on the field- or the club dies. The club & its fans must live on, with or without absentee owners, poor execs, inadequate mgmt, etc.
  3. I dreamt we were close to signing Curtis and/or Yates, and maybe get a loaner like Doyle. That’s not much to dream about, pretty ordinary actually, but I bet we won’t even get those guys. It’s time for me to face the reality that we will be in a relegation battle this season.
  4. I listened to Rovers Chat yesterday, and there were several alarming things: 1) Armstrong transfer. I never thought we’d keep him, but apparently, teams know Rovers can be had on the price; 2) Rovers new head of recruitment is another of Tony’s old mates. Not surprised by this, either. Anger is a better word for my feelings; 3) speculation on the incoming transfer embargo. IMO, Owners gave Tony everything he wanted last year, and he managed to finish 15th. Owners losses are in excess of £180 mil (I was surprised it isn’t more), they are shutting the club down. On the club site, 20 players are listed on the first team. But two of those, Dacky & JR-C are rehabbing. If we can’t add better talent to the club, with this manager who all but promised top-6 last season, League 1 beckons.
  5. Gateshead cancelled. I was hoping for something to happen with the club this weekend…maybe an incoming transfer?
  6. This is what I was thinking, as well. Don’t risk him, if Rovers are close to making a deal on him.
  7. Nothing has changed; I just don’t want to get all worked up until the games actually count.
  8. I couldn’t even tell if roverschat are doing a watch along.
  9. I am always excited for the new season to begin. I am also excited to see the young ‘uns play. I’m not playing the “Mowbray out” card until we get into meaningful games, & it becomes apparent he has no more fresh ideas this season than last. Until then, I will be happy to cheer on the team, and I can’t wait to get the season started. COYB!
  10. Big Sam’s 1st relegation. What say most of you- did Sam have enough talent to keep the baggies up?
  11. Rovers took 11 of the last 18 points. Much better than we did in the previous 36 pts, but still nowhere near good enough to be a top-6 club. Rovers had a goal diff of +11. Hooray. And finished 15th. ugh. Going back to New Years 2021, the owners were asked by Mowbray to give him 2 loaners & 2 permanent signings. They gave him exactly what he wanted, alas, Rovers were worse on the pitch than before. By his own statements, Rovers did not reach the goal he had set, and by no measurement known to man, have Rovers been successful. It’s not that the fan base haven’t given Mowbray time. It’s not that he hasn’t been given chances. Simply put, he has failed to compete with the top-10 in the Championship (I have more stats, but is it worthwhile to look at them? Rhetorical question), and he has been given ample opportunities to do so. It’s time to give someone else a try. Not that I expect it to happen anytime soon, but our situation dictates new leadership.
  12. Good to see that teamwork on the goal, probably our dynamic duo next season 😂
  13. U23’s currently trailing Chelsea, 1-2. bah, 1-3 now. I was hoping we could stay above ManU.
  14. Weather permitting... I hope there will be be pics taken, for the benefit of we Texans who cannot be there.
  15. I saw that. Ugh He needs to play... so he shows up the last game of the season. I bet if he starts, he limps off before HT.
  16. Big threats to score for Birm? Jutkiewicz & Hogan have 7 apiece. They don’t defend particularly well, either, as they are 18th in the league. A minus 21 goal diff. Yet, they have one less win, and one less tie, than Rovers. However this game plays out, I’m sure it’s just part of the mowbray journey than has no beginning, but hopefully has an end, very soon.
  17. I would love to sing it... did you have a tune in mind when you wrote this?
  18. Frankly, with all the fan unrest, I’m surprised it has not already happened. even 100 fans, organized correctly, should send a message. 1,000 would be a real statement. There’s got to be 1,000 unhappy, rabid Rovers fans in Lancashire, & thereabout. “Mowbray told us to expect playoffs- can’t get there from 15th place”, etc. For fans to let mgmt/owners know their discontent, this is what needs to happen. Peaceful! No drunken mob storming Ewood.
  19. I know a lot of us don’t care. But we really do care, we don’t stop supporting our club, just because x owns the club, or x manages the club. Also, Mowbray’s future doesn’t come down to this one game. I always want the Rovers to win... and I don’t want to see Rovers passed on the table by Forest or Coventry. Arma scores the 1st goal, his final goal in the blue & white. Gally gives us something to think about (his future with the club), as he scores the winner. 2-1, Rovers.
  20. Seriously, I’m just ready for this season to end. I know we’ve had some heartaches and missed opportunities, to go with the injuries, but we’ve also had many failures, from the manager to the players on the field. We have six, 0-1 losses... in 2021 alone. I can think of six games easily, that we could’ve pulled 12 points from, 3 wins & 3 ties, today should’ve been 3. Missed opportunities (yes, I know every team can say the same).
  21. Limp to the finish line next week vs Birm City. Can’t wait to see our guys whiff more shots than we did today. COYB
