  1. Fully agree, Rodwell (Mulgrew or Lenihan) to challenge for the first header from CDM, drop back into the defense to form a 3/5 when needed for Nyambe/Bell bombing forward, allowing 2 of Reed, Bennett and Travis to headless chicken around the pitch to get the ball. Dack to top off the diamond and Graham +1 up top. Basically the Aaron Mokoena role. That bloke knew how to play CDM and never got enough credit for how much he covered for Warnock/Neil when they pressed forward. Unlike Smallw*nk and Evans who offer zero protection. Can't wait to see 7 defensive minded outfield players lining up in 4 hours time as TM worries about the "strengths" of a team with 6 away points all season. SMH.
  2. Que the team in 4th place sacking their manager, as even though he did a admirable job last season despite relegation (sound familiar?) they have decided that since our 1-1 draw, 36 points in the time we have amassed 22 is enough to warrent the sack. Mowbray for WBA. Let's get it trending. Ps. That Danny Graham "foul" is a disgrace and only a referee with a clear agenda would have given that. Shocking. That's in the same category with Henning Berg Vs Man Utd and Tevez for WHU for terrible Ewood refereeing decisions.
  3. Agree, lots of Preston fans I overheard couldn't believe they had won it. Ultimately, our best chance (thanks to the ref) would have been an OG. What was the Preston fan consensus as the ref gave the three free kicks against Reed-on-Gallagher, Nuttall-on-Fisher and the Graham "goal"? All three decisions probably saved almost certain goals and all seemed incredibly, nah, ridiculously soft. Certainly felt the ref was your 12 man in that second half.... even though the red was possibly harsh, but in the 93rd minute I guess he sent him off to mask his pure awful one-sided performance. I was hoping that if we had lost this we would have been outplayed and had our flawed managers tactics and team selection exposed, so Preston really let me down ?... and still won!!!
  4. I'm actually bored of writing about how Smallw*nk is. The counter attack he started for PNE sums him up. Those people who acclaim him to be "committed" need to seriously watch him, especially when the other team is attacking... the only time he even approached a sprint today was when he was being subbed. I'm not even joking. Ironically I thought we grew into the formation today, however Bell HAS to be the left wing back and you cannot carry Smallw*nk and Evans in the CM. If he isn't going to play Reed or Bennett in there, surely it is time for Buckley, Davenport, Mols etc to come in alongside Travis in the last 10 games. Also, glad Rothwell doesn't start, he's far too positive. We are 11 clear with a huge GD advantage (somehow) over Rotherham, meaning if we win 1 game they realistically need to win 5 to get above us. Time to wave bye bye to the waste of shirts L1 legends and give Damien Johnsons army a run out!
  5. "The referee blows the full time whistle and turns to applaud the 7,500 travelling fans." The "fouls" against Reed, Nuttall and especially Graham were disgraceful and almost certainly cost us THREE goals. Graham's obviously, but the Reed one left us 4vs1 and Nuttall had already skinned the defender. Serious question. Amari Bell is the most obvious LWB in BRFC history, however each time Mowbray plays his beloved three (5) at the back formation he is never at LWB?!?!? Nyambe played well. Raya (bar a couple of kicks) was equally good. However, an 'undeserved' 1-0 and a terrible 'referee' doesn't help highlight just how bad we actually are. Time to go.
  6. How Mowbray can talk about others going through sticky patches and not place his name promptly at the top of that list is yet another reason I want him gone. Man has no accountability. Tomorrow is without doubt his last, last chance for me and after reading this board and talking to many fans over the last few weeks it now wouldn't surprise me if about a 1/3 of the fan group will be feeling the same if tomorrow goes badly. "You don't know what your doing", booing substitutions and the like. Being embarrassed away to Rotherham is one thing, being embarrassed (again) verses PNE, and at home this time, culminating in a 10th defeat in 15 matches is not acceptable at any level, for any manager... especially one stuck in groundhog day, who can't/won't take any ounce of blame. Believe it or not in genuinely do hope I'm wrong, but this appears to only be going in one (downward) direction, I'm almost sure of that. 0-3, 1-3 or 1-4 and a truly miserable day all round.
  7. I like this guy, very proud. We sold out in 19 of our 23 away games last season. Bolton away was also live on Sky Sports and charging £30-£40 a ticket and your away stand doesn't hold 7,000. I base an away crowd on their noise and support, not by how many rock up. So that's up to PNE. Also, we dont care about Preston. Enjoy the game. If you win I hope you better us again and vice versa.
  8. From memory, I think grabbi closed down a United player from the kick, won the ball and bent a worldie in to the top corner at the bb end. However the referee gave a retaken GK as the United player had touched it on the 18 yard line. Then he gave Beckham a bs equaliser by allowing him to take a quick free kick after signalling to his whistle. Miss those days so bad.
  9. You lost me at "instrumental" Last season: 46 appearances, 3 assist, 2 goals, 9 shots all season. You're right, can't believe he didnt get player of the season with such astounding contribution. For the record (and not living in the past) This season: 27 appearances, 2100 minutes, 1 assist, 0 goals, 0.2 shots per games, wins 1.2 headers per game. 75% pass success. Average rating 6.4/10. W*nk.
  10. RE The goal kick rule: I've felt the rule was flawed ever since we drew 2-2 with Man Utd our first season back under Souness almost 20 years ago when Grabbi had 2 goals disallowed because of it. Not sure the ball being live instantly is the right way to go, but if a player touches it in the box under pressure should be an indirect free kick for the other team - retaken goal kicks have always been a kop out. Also not upset about the attackers in the wall rule, but the "6 second rule" needs looked at
  11. I'm desperate for a win in this one, however clinging to the hope that any loss moves TM, his team and L1 loyals one giant step closer to leaving. Got a feeling this one could get ugly if we go a couple down. Biggest game of the season in such a potentially pointless mid table game. Win could see a turnaround in the last 10 games safe from relegation worries. Loss and relegation isn't impossible and surely fingers will be firmly pointed at the management. Of course all his fingers will be pointed elsewhere. If Smallw*nk starts I'll riot!
  12. Love a good Jason Lowe bash. Scenario: You die, go to hell, and are manager of Hell FC. Bradley Orr is your RB, Leon Best up front and the only decision you're allowed to make is who partners Danny Murphy in CM. Your choice is between Jason Lowe and Richard Smallw*nk. I'll say this once (then hide for a bit) Lowe is better than Smallw*nk. (PS. We would have won L1 with Bowyer.)
  13. The ironic thing is that the only reason people aren't calling for the manager to be sacked is because of "blind loyalty" to what he has done for the club the past two years. The exact same problem the manager has with this team and his biggest failing. The manager has blind loyalty with his League 1 players, staff and tactics and many fans have blind loyalty to a manager who has blind loyalty to League 1 players, staff and tactics. We will be back in League 1 in 18 months if one or all of these things don't change before the summer. Mowbray as manager is currently no better for our team than Smallw*nk, Bennett and Williams are on the pitch, or Benson is in training. A new manager will not be loyal to these underperforming players, therefore as fans we shouldn't act the same towards a manager. Loyalty gets you nowhere when it is clear you are loyal to the wrong cause.
  14. It's how TM calls out Raya and the defense in a scathing attack yet no mention of Smallw*nk who played utter garbage for 45 mins (and 45 games tbf), lucky to be on the pitch (again) and hauled off at half time/when losing (again). He should never play another minute for Blackburn Rovers... the fact that he will (and probably start again vs Preston) is yet another reason why Mowbray 100% needs to go. I would suggest it would be generous to call him our 10th best CM. Buckley, Davenport, Mols, Rankin-Costello all deserve minutes now in the midfield as it's looking less likely Reed will sign given his usage past month (or even play cm) Smallwood is a mediocre L1 player and should be treated as such.
  15. If Mowbray (and his team) are still here in October, we will be in the relegation zone by Xmas, panic looking for a new manager. We need a Graeme Souness to come in now (like in 2000), evaluate the squad and plan for next season without the blind loyalty TM has to both his players and staff.
  16. In his eyes. + He came in and wasn't C*yle. - He failed to keep us up due in part to games against Barnsley, Bristol City, PNE, Wolves which were all games he dropped the ball but we gave him the benefit. + he was manager of the team that bounced straight back. - the team played poorly for (in my money) 50% of the season and basically scraped 80% of the wins by a goal. + stabalised us for the first 30 games of this season. - team has played poorly for (in my money) 80% of the season. - will have us in a relegation battle next season. Mowbray, Venus, Benson, Lowe, Williams + Smallw*nk out.
  17. The coaches are garbage, Lowe and Benson. The pre match warm up infuriates me... I'm a teacher and if Ofsted saw that shooting drill they would have me lynched. Why are there 9/10 players in a line shooting for the last 10 mins and WHY is Smallw*nk one of them (his new name). He hasn't taken a shot all season yet takes his place in the queue no bother. Conway, Nuttall, Brereton, Bennett, Smallwood, Rothwell, Dack, Armstrong, Graham were all lined up. 4 of them could have done the same drill at half time and Bennett and Smallwood could have been working on, I dunno, passing and control? It's a farce. Side note: the atmosphere pre kick off was awesome, felt like we were gearing up for a playoff game with the hype music. Our match day experience is non existent at ewood.
  18. Smallwood isn't defensive either, in fact he's the most offensive player I've seen in our kit for 18 months. I'm now 100% Mowbray out. Blame the GK for the 2nd and the "basics" all you want... YOU (TM) changed the entire game 'plan' within 8 minutes and switched to a back 3. YOU (TM) continue to pick the likes of Smallwood and Bennett. YOU (TM) Have been in this job for 2 years and will get us relegated next season. YOU (TM) have still yet to take 1% responsibility for any of the poor results we have had over the 2 years in charge. I'll be putting £25 on a Preston win next week and for as much as I want us to beat them (I do) I'm almost seeing every loss as one step closer to him being gone. Mowbray Out.
  19. Smallwood: Cant wait to see the back of him. Absolute brainless, talentless "footballer". Mowbray: Had to change his "tactics" within what 8 minutes? On the flip side this "referee" is cack... but aren't they all. Danny Graham cant touch a CB but Smith has bullied and fouled our back 3 for 47mins. 11 points clear of the drop zone with 11 games to play. Will it be enough. Cant wait for Preston next week. ? Mowbray out - second half wont change that.
  20. We do need some real quality added most definitely.... However we should not be wasting resources replacing Raya, Nyambe, Lenihan or Travis THIS summer, as I have seen some mention as necessary. Why? They are all 'young' and on their day (which is more frequent than we give them credit), they are Championship quality players with LOTS of potential to get FAR better. Another 6-12 months in this league could be all the difference. I think we definitely need rid of almost every player with their contract up in the summer (Rodwell?) and try offload Williams and Smallwood too. Adding Dack, Armstrong and Graham to the 4 listed above gives us 7 spots filled. Moving Mulgrew, Bennett, Evans and Bell into rotation options, I think we need to focus THIS summer on a RW, CM, LB, CB. Davenport, Rothwell, Chapman, Brereton, Butterworth and others need some real game time between now and May as they will make up our squad next season. It can't just be Lewis Travis who is good enough from the U23's, can it... If only I had faith in TM to take this approach and not ? the likes of Conway, Smallwood, Williams, Bennett, Evans in 'pointless matches'. I'd rather lose with 3/4 younger players, then lose with those L1 has-beens.
  21. Not following this today for good reason. I look forward to seeing how many extra "Mowbray Out, Followers" we have amassed in less than two hours time.
  22. Interesting reading this. My opinion is somewhere between option 1 and 2. The "Give it another month to prove no" option is where I'm at. So, let's do it all over again in 17 days after we fail to win either of our games at Birmingham and Rotherham and Preston have just embarrassed us in our own ground. ?
  23. For those keeping score, the number of times TM has taken even 1% of the blame, post match, for a performance and result in his two year reign = 0
  24. Ah is that right, so it's a yellow if it's a penalty but a red outside the box. Suppose that makes sense. I stand by my other 8 points ?
