  1. Fact with Brereton is that Mowbray (Rovers) put him in that creek without a paddle the moment they panic bid for him a 4:45pm on deadline day last August. Forest probably couldn't believe their luck, and STILL played us like the fools we were and managed to get sold of a player who wasn't in their plans for 10 times his value. Had we bid for Brereton either a week or two earlier, or waited for the next window, we would probably have saved 80% of the fee and 100% of the expectation. Poor lad didn't ask to be bought for £7m by an incompetent managers "transfer strategy."
  2. By many accounts I've heard from various people involved at Rovers, Lambert was the worst of the worst. I personally thought his football was the only type to rival this current shower we watch and was delighted when he took his ball and left (until we hired OC).
  3. Joe Hart (if true) will be welcomed with open arms. Reminiscent of when John Williams wanted Big Sam, but the fans didn't, so we got Ince (Walton) for 5 months before the fans realised how garbage he was and we could then get our original first choice... just now with the full fans backing.
  4. The ref should have given the stonewall 2nd Yellow for their forward. 9 vs 11 for 15 mins+ The same result would have probably happened... but it would be way worse for Tony. Will he ever go.
  5. I'm pretty sure I actually saw a gust of wind knock Buckley off the ball... This (Mowbray FC) is back to its pathetic best. Zzzzzz
  6. If we're "scouting" ex players, how long before Man Utd and Phil Jones get desperate enough for a loan back (assuming Lenihan goes to free up the stupid and pointless wages we would have to pay for 18 matches) Imagine if our starting back 5 (in theory) was Walton (Shit - Loan) - Cunningham (inj - loan) - Tosin (loan) - Jones (Gurns - loan) - Bennett (wish we could loan). This club, anything is possible. Just not promotion, a promotion push, attractive football or even an attractive away kit.
  7. I fully expect this window to be the most dull we have ever experienced. Zero expectations.
  8. Commentator: "Blackburn will argue maybe they should be level, Bennett." Forest ball.
  9. Annnnnd, Mowbray out. You live and die by your signings and team selections. Walton is piss poor, just like Mowbs. This will be 4 or 5.
  10. Cheer up people, worst case scenario we don't win and Buckley is in League 1/2 a month from now. Plus. Still no sign of Smallwood. ? I am not expecting a pretty or successful day... at least it's not the same apocalyptic weather as Birmingham home was last year.
  11. A few sunny days in South Portugal for the staff I would guess... The whole trip sounds similar to a stag do I once went on! ? Or maybe they will unearth the next Ruben Neves...?
  12. It's horrific to remember that 12 months ago Travis was about to go the same way is Willem Tomlinson and off on loan to L1 in January before Smallwood had the "standout moment of the season" and got a 3 game ban at Sheff Utd away. We've really never looked back. Scary to even wonder what might have transpired with Travis (and Ritchie), had Smallwood stayed on his feet that day. For the record, you could clearly tell back then from his 6 minute cameos that Travis had something quality about him... I really don't see that in Buckley.
  13. I'm not suggesting we should loan all of the names listed but Buckley should be a no brainer to move out. You'd seriously rather keep Buckley around to play 6 minutes every fourth game? Not to mention the lad seems miles away from being ready for this league/team. And (for me) if we could get Brereton loaned to, for example, Barnsley/Luton/Charlton where he can/will play... surely that's a win win? I'm not against keeping him in case of injuries but one of him or Samuel should be loaned.
  14. This window we should really look to be getting players out (loan or otherwise) Smallwood will go, I'm pretty sure. Gladwin will probably get released on Feb 1st. Most, if not all of Butterworth, Davenport (Burton?), Samuel, Chapman, Mols, Buckley, and probably Brereton, should be loaned.
  15. Fucking stupid! Mowbray should have taken him off. You knew the ref would have wanted to even it up!
  16. Pretty much. Doesn't feel as dirty if I add a couple of home "bankers" to a simple Swansea win ?
  17. Ps. Walton should really be coming for their goal IMO. For all his (apparent) faults... Raya would have come for it ??
  18. Shite this so far, look very off the pace and very lucky to be 1-1 with our "performance". Feel a soft Swansea penalty and our first red card is coming in the 2nd half. Need a couple of changes early before we find ourselves well behind. No Tony, not Buckley. See what the second half brings I suppose. But my Atletico-PSG-Swansea accumulator looks a good bet so far.
  19. Not said this for a long time, and I'm fairly worried it will be redundant come Saturday at 2:10pm, but "fair play Tony." Who knew that by starting your best RB, LW and CF that you would improve the team so much. Bit of a "gamble" starting Evans, but I thought he played well, as did the XI. Nyambe was everything a RB should be, and Rothwell is just another level at times. As for Raya, was pleased with his performance, he is clearly much better coached at Brentford (shock!), and he kept it at 1-0 with some great saves and general reading of danger... also, I counted zero shit kicks. 100% mistake forcing him out end of last season. Shame Tony hasn't yet realised that good coaches make good/promising players better. But tonight, was progress ?
  20. Have the gambling commission been in to look at Tony's Tombola? Gallagher AND Bennett out? The cynic in me thinks Tony expects a loss and a battering and can use Nyambe going up against Benrahma as an excuse to cement Bennett in at RB until the day he's sacked. Armstong on the right wing, for his one good game in 9? Hope Raya has a good game, regardless of result.
  21. Team on Wednesday should be: Leutwiler Nyambe - Lenihan - Tosin - Bell* Travis - Downing Holtby - Dack - Rothwell Graham (Won't happen in 1,000,000 years) I expect i will be 5 out, probably 6, as I'm sure Rothwell will be dropped for not scoring from 40 yards, and we know that Walton, Bennett, Armstrong and Gallagher HAVE to play under this manager. Evans and Johnson probably get the nod in CM aswell ?
  22. Will never forget the "Alan Fettis game" in the late 90's vs Arsenal, when they were 4 up in no time. I remember the snow starting to come down and the Rovers fans calling for the game to be abandoned. ? Fettis, might be as good as Walton. The fact we had Armstong up top for 60 mins today as we watch Walton hold the ball for 20 seconds before booting it out to nowhere is painful enough, but as soon as DG comes on Walton legs it to the edge of his 18 and hammers it down the channels for Danny to "chase" just highlights how clueless and poor he might actually be. Really nice guy though! ? (We NEED Mowrbay gone before the January transfer window.)
  23. I made a comment a few weeks ago that Mowbray has created a culture where "mediocre is acceptible" as the likes of Walton, Bennett, Gallagher and Armstong get to play shite game after game with no fallout. Walton: You might actually see grown men cry when we get to compare him to the one we let go (Mowbray forced out) 3 months ago. ANOTHER goal we can "credit" to him. Armstrong: Quite simply shit. 5x offside in the first 18 minutes. How he continues to play (90mins!) is mind boggling. Bennett. I give up. Get a fucking yellow card already and give us a week off. We didn't make a sub until the 84th minute at Preston, but it was guaranteed that both Holtby and Rothwell would be gone long before that today! Never seen a manager with such bias agendas. How can, more importantly why does, a team which 80% doesn't look like they're playing for the manager, keep scoring 88+ minute winners and subject us to more of Mowbrays turgid dogshit football ? Mowbray Out.
  24. Shocking defending for the pen by our left side. Seemed soft but probably a pen as Tosin has to win the ball, didn't, and made contact with Ayling. 2nd goal looked offside by Bamford for me, but a nice goal tbh. Williams made amends for being wrong side for pen with his goal. 4-5-------------1 formation is not working, we are poor in possession but definding well for the most part (which doesnt ultimately matter if you switch off now and again). Leeds look slow at the back so why not give Rothwell a try and throw Arma up top for 15 mins before bringing Graham on. My super six prediction was 4-1. And I stand by it. Could this be Mowbrays last game? ?
  25. Forget the score for a second but the difference and quality between the managers post match press conferences on Radio Lancs (Preston) says it all. Don't get me wrong Alex Neil can say those things after winning and probably was too impressive that way etc but Mowbrays interview was just bitter. What I'd give for a manager with a bit of charisma who can actually inspire a team.
