  1. As a few others have mentioned. The manager hasn't helped him out by playing him as a winger. I don't buy into the putting Dack up front after 60 minutes. Dack plays midfield so should stay there either in his normal position or on the wing himself. If the guy can't get about after 60 minutes as well which has looked the case a few times this season then Dack himself should be subable as well. That's why there is a squad available. I think is was brentford he wasn't playing and they won so it can be done. The manager is mostly at fault for Breretons slow start but during the Swansea game he seemed to try and take it to them when he came on and genuinely seemed to be up for it so all this sulking/not trying I can't see where it comes from.
  2. My team for this game Raya Bennett Rodwell Mulgrew Bell Reed Evans Palmer Dack Rothwell Armstrong Get into their faces and high press them into mistakes. Let them play and they'll win comfortably. Take ideas from the derby game and how they made it uncomfortable for them. A front four like the above are mobile enough to get around. Would like to see Graham and Brereton playing as a two in the second half as well if needed. Could be 3-0 either way but would go for a 2-1 win as we can't defend but neither can they. Rodwell to pocket Rodriguez the former dingle all game.
  3. Think the blame for the collapse in the second half is down to the manager. At half time you have your set up and shape spot on then bring your striker off and put the new sub striker on the left wing while putting a midfielder up front. Brereton hasn't been brilliant but be honest. If you don't play to someone's strengths they will under perform. It's like putting graham up front and asking him to stretch the defence and run in behind. It doesn't work. The lad should have been put up front in the 4231 formation that we started with and told to stretch the defence. That way the midfield stays solid and you keep the team shape. Games result is down to the manager. How he couldn't see that Bennet was getting skinned time and time again in the second half I'll never know.
  4. First time posting but after watching the game last night I thought I'd put my opinion out there. Personally I would change the team around. Raya Reed Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Evans Rothwell Bennett Dack Palmer Graham Subs: Leutwiler, Rodwell, Williams, Smallwood, Travis, Armstrong, Brereton I think this is a game very similar to the Sheffield United match in that Bolton will be solid defensively and any slow play from defence to the forward line will play right into their hands. After watching the game. I couldn't understand why Rothwell cannot get into this team. When you watch him he has the ability to create and commit an opposition player which frees up room for others. He also gets the ball forward much quicker than others in the midfield and I think it would free up Dack to get closer to Graham as he is more suited to a goal scoring midfielder than a deep playmaker Also I agree with what's been said about Brereton with the fact that he hasn't started very well of impressed and I get the feeling that the manager may have gambled to much on him. Unfortunately that isn't the lads fault but personally when watching him he seems to crumble under pressure and doesn't yet have the mental side to his game to be a tough target man. We need to score the first goal and get in front. From here subs such as Armstrong and Brereton can use any space that opens up to capitalise. We need to keep the ball on the floor as well as Bolton won't be able to deal with football played on the floor Subs: Armstong/Palmer, Brereton/Graham, Rodwell/Rothwell Score: 2-1 Rovers as we can't keep goals out. Hopefully we can get the win and get back on track.
