  1. Montgomery, who looks to be ahead of Buckley in the pecking order based on pre season. If I was splitting hairs, then It will be Wharton or McLoughlin partnering Hyam or Carter, based on Ismael saying he wants a left footed centre back on the left etc
  2. Ipswich apparently signing Hackney from Boro for over Β£20M. Which you would imagine will leave Boro with the funds to buy Brittain On a side note, how is an inferior player, moving to a Championship club for more than Wharton moved to Palace? Are some still trying to claim that we got a good deal?
  3. What? How can you be bored? it's the exciting time of year. Rudy said so πŸ˜‰ Blackburn Rovers fans can expect a busy summer transfer window with Rudy Gestede... "That's an exciting time going into the summer"... Rudy Gestede - April 2025
  4. Even if/when Brittain departs,, both Duru and Alebiosu are also both very attacking options on the right, (and presumably if a replacement is signed for Brittain, he will also be a more attacking full back). I am not saying if they are of the required quality or not, but they are all full backs/wing backs who will push very high up and hold the width on the right. It does look as though that is how Ismael is gearing the side up to play this season, which would not require a traditional wide right player. Although that being said, I would still like to see one signed so that we have options to change things up. I just don't think it will happen
  5. Senior moment from me there. πŸ˜‰ I got Grimsby and Gillingham mixed up, Gilsenan is at Grimsby, Cirino at Gillingham with Ainsworth & Dack
  6. Former U21 Lenni Cirino signed for Gillingham yesterday. Cirino had been at Clitheroe last year, which seemed a very low level for him based on what I had seen of him in the past
  7. And justified by stating "pathway for Tyjon whilst still having adaptable cover"
  8. He apparently has, but looking at hm, I cannot imagine he plays RW as a winger. He looks like someone who will move inside when we are in possession to make a 2nd "10" (or maybe a box to box midfielder) alongside Cantwell, allowing the right back to overlap, but is able to help out defensively on the right when we are not in possession I would wonder if we are down to 2, would Baradji be competition/cover for both AM & RW, and a CB is also still being sought after
  9. Whilst Rovers do not offer massive wages in comparison to Championship teams, they could blow most Polish teams (including his current club) out of the water in terms of what they can offer (even if there is a self imposed cap), also with a much larger shop window for their next move Whilst Capology is far from a perfect metric, Jagiellonia Bialystok (Ekstraklasa) Estimated Total Gross Salaries for the 2025-2026 Season is €3,120,000, or €60,000 per week, not including bonuses. Blackburn Rovers FC's (Championship) Estimated Total Gross Salaries for the 2025-2026 Season is Β£12,146,000, or Β£233,577 per week, not including bonuses.
  10. A normal club would start this process with at least 2 years remaining on their contracts, so that their value is still high if they refuse contracts and need to be sold. However - Rovers do not offer competitive Championship salaries, so if a player does become proven in this division, they are unable to match what most other clubs in the division can Which in itself wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if players with potential were signed up to 4 or 5 year deals, so that Rovers have time to sell them at their maximum value with a couple of years left on their contracts. But - Rovers keep signing players on 2 (or 3 year at most in 99% of cases) contracts such as Kargbo & McLoughlin which has them at an immediate disadvantage. The short term deal for Kargbo especially is mind boggling as it means that if by the end of the season he is proven in the Championship, Rovers have next to no chance of keeping hold on him and he will only have 1 year left on his contract so his value is depreciating anyway. Even the "promising" players signed this summer are only on 3 year deals. By the time they are "proven" (assuming that they are), then its time to sell them on a cut price deal as we cant afford to pay them what they are worth and they only have a year left. and - The short termism of those in charge would probably still leave them to penny pinching for an extra year or 2 before offering improved deals to proven players anyway And even then, fees received from player sales do not impact of budget by all accounts. So operating a player trading model is completely off the table from the start anyway! Mental!
  11. Joined them from Accrington in the summer apparently, so guessing he must have been on trail with Rovers at the end of last season and not made the grade
  12. Not sure if this has already been posted somewhere, but Football League World asked AI to predict the Championship table I nearly choked on my coffee, I think this is proof that we are indeed, far, far away from a terminator style future of machines ruling the earth Edit - I wonder if the AI that they asked was the Chaddybot 4000 X Series? But with the optimism dial turned up to max (sorry Chaddy πŸ˜‰ )
  13. Is there no Nixon fairytale for us today? Surely he hasn't given up on selling Brittain/Tyjon/Higgins for us yet? There is still a month of the window to go!
  14. If he did have a bad knee injury which kept him out of the second half of last season whilst he was out on loan, then nursing him back may make some sense. Although it could just as easily be that he isn't as good as those who brought him in, thought he was I've still not seen any mention this pre season of Higgins, Leeming, Mansbridge, or Joseph. So wonder if they are injured or have maybe just been with the U18s? But they are all players who I would have thought would be with the U21s, at least in pre season
  15. maybe the rules for League 1 or 2? which don't include U21 loan players as part of the 25
  16. According to the EFL handbook (page 244 if you wish to check, this is last years book, I can't find this years but I assume this rule stays the same) "Under 21 Player’ means a Player under the age of 21 as at the 1 January in the year in which the Season concerned commences". This would mean that Harry Leonard and George Pratt are not U21 players, as they turned 21 before Jan 1st 2025, and Kristi Montgomery and Felix Goddard are U21 players as they turned 21 after Jan 1st 2025 Under 21 Players do not need to be registered Also, loan players, no matter what age they are, need to be registered in a Championship 25 man squad, but not if they are an U21 loan player in a League 1 or 2 squad for some reason
  17. Broggan & Decania,, lol Should be Boggan & Decandia
  18. Any idea who the trialist is?
  19. I would think you would have Wood wide & Farkas in the middle from that graphic but it sounds right apart from that. Houghton played centre back last match too (despite being a right back) as all the other "more senior" U21 CBs are in spain with the main squad
  20. Thanks for that Curzon calling him "Broggan" but yep, he is up front
  21. Edit - Curzons twitter feed seems to be all there is for updates on our U21s game today Can't yet see anything online about what sort of team our U21s are putting out, although former Rovers U21 Charlie Weston starting for Curzon this afternoon. He did look solid if unspectacular at U21 level for us, but does not seem to have been fancied by either Barrow or Rochdale, and is now in the 6th tier
  22. Amended my initial post, I was referring purely to Finnerans coimpo You are right on Telalovic, about Β£300K apparently
