  1. He will be playing right back Watch his interview, specifically mentions getting forward at every opportunity up and down the line What is maybe in question is his delivery once he is forwards
  2. Pretty sure It's mostly based on form, weighted by recency and division "Supercomputer" is just another word for "Excel spreadsheet"
  3. Did we do the World a disservice in not continuing the expansion of the British Empire? This wouldn't have happened in my day πŸ˜‰
  4. Thanks πŸ™‚ Yes we do, have amended my post
  5. In order to maintain 4 esc slots after this season, English qualifying players (EQP) would need to play in at least 35% of minutes in the Championship for Rovers this season. This equates to a little under 16000 minutes. Any less, and the number of allocated esc slots will drop. This may be an issue. Following the departure of Brittain, Dolan, Batth etc and with seemingly Pickering & Pears no longer being regular starters, as I only see Travis & Cantwell as "guaranteed" English qualifying starters, So even if they both remain & play in every single minute of every single Championship game, that is only just over half of these minutes (8280 minutes) & if either of those leave, they are likely to be replaced by an non qualifying player. Whilst some of those remaining minutes will be covered by subs./rotation etc (Carter, Wharton, Pickering, Forshaw, Tyjon, Alebiosu etc), This may be an extra reason why Gestede was so interested in increasing the minutes for U21 players (who are in the main English qualifying), as not doing so will derail any future transfer plans and leave them having to shop in more expensive (British & those who qualify for work permits automatically) markets * Obviously this makes the rather precarious assumption that Rovers consider events at least a year in the future ** If we have 4 ESC players but our number of slots is then reduced, we can still keep those 4 ESC players (thank you WilsdenRover), although if we sell/convert them, we cannot replace those slots until our minutes are back up to the required levels https://analyticsfc.co.uk/blog/2023/06/21/introducing-esc-the-new-gbe-guidance-opens-up-recruitment-post-brexit/ 2024/25 onwards Criteria However, from this season onwards clubs will be able to plan for the number of ESC slots that they have, with the possibility that they could only have one if the number of minutes for EQP is lower than 20%. Number of available ESC places Weighted EQP minutes % Premier League Championship League One League Two >= 35% 4 4 2 2 >= 30% 3 3 1 1 >= 25% 2 2 – – >= 20% 1 1 – –
  6. Not sure about that I think he is a knock it past them type with an erratic delivery rather than a dribbler with a great cross though
  7. Michalski signed a contract in January, although as he has now turned 18, he can now sign a longer one * Him signing a contract in January was a strange one, as he turned 18 in March, so could have then signed a much longer deal
  8. Completely agree, if Rovers did similar to teams like Boro, and reinvested circa 70% of fees received, they would be in a much healthier position both on the pitch, and financially As it is, we would probably be thinking all of our Christmases have come at once if 17% was reinvested
  9. Depends what sort of wage he is on, If "some European semi pro side" cannot afford to match them, then he might fancy sitting things out, in which case we would need to pay his contract up * Sending him away on loan would not remove him from the esc calculation, he would need to be off the books completely
  10. Looks like the early bird is over if you can't see it, Although if it said until 4th then maybe try messaging Rovers to plead your case? roverstvsupport@streamamg.com
  11. Can't see that, he has Zetterstrom already there Trav to Derby though, is easy to envisage 😞
  12. a couple of years out of date (due to how accounts are submitted/processed, financial years etc), & Rovers have downgraded a bit since these figures https://www.matchdayfinance.com/post/championship-financial-results-season-2023-24
  13. If Brittain went for Β£3.5M, you would think maybe Β£2.5M - Β£3M both English, same contract situation, Brittain probably a better footballer
  14. Morgan Whittaker has since surpassed him as their top earner, somewhere between Β£25K-Β£30K/week
  15. When was the last time you saw any fee (which wasn't Β£0) actually confirmed by either club? Β£3.5M after add ons according to Jackson The real question is how much of that is guaranteed? and how much of the guaranteed amount is up front?
  16. The Opta Supercomputer Strikes Back https://theanalyst.com/articles/championship-predictions-opta-supercomputer-2025-26
  17. Nothing there that wasn't said on here earlier, but puts it all in one thread
  18. that sounds borderline seen/not seen Don't they normally call it a day in the 20s or 30s?
  19. He is s useful player at this level, just not up to LaLiga/Premier League standard Ipswich & Sheff Utd also linked with him
  20. Pretty sure as he is already playing regularly in Britain (not England), he will already have a British work permit. As he has been with them for 3 years, they will have moved him to a standard work permit by now According to AI AI Overview +4 Scottish clubs do not have Elite Significant Contribution (ESC) slots like English clubs. The English football system uses ESC slots to allow clubs to sign a limited number of exceptional international players who don't automatically qualify for a Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) under the points-based system. While Scottish clubs can sign players from overseas, the process is different and not tied to the same ESC structure
