  1. Agree, its not something they would neglect to mention They are are normally pretty good at announcing that the player has an option in the initial signing/contract renewal story, but this detail was not included in the Hyam signing story https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/august/28/dom-deal-done-/
  2. I didn't want to say this earlier and ruin my viewing fun, but seeing as the Hyam contract situation has now been put to bed Jalil Saadi has evidentially (based on appearing in pre season) signed a new contract which has not been announced by the club. Obviously a different situation as Hyam was club captain for the second half of last season, whereas Saadi is for all intents and purposes an overage U21 player, but it does highlight how bad the club are with communication,
  3. Not to say he is anywhere near as good, but 24 years ago you could have substituted PSV for Liverpool, and Drommel for Friedel
  4. I would assume that the more obvious choices are the ones the club is trying to sell, so he is hedging his bets for as long as possible
  5. Fair enough, but in terms of game time/standing within the squad (practically none under Eustace), Telalovic could be seen as being replaced by Vale, who wasn't here last season
  6. I think its a maximum of 8 loans over the course of a season, but only 5 in any matchday squad
  7. Can see Cardiff being this years Hull, spend a load on wages & loans, threaten to get in the playoffs, ultimately fail, and end up with next to no squad next summer because almost all of them were loans and 1 year contracts on high wages that they cant afford to keep
  8. I agree with pretty much everything you wrote here Wednesday are this years Stoke/Birmingham As in they made some ok signings early in the window, and fans of other clubs (who hadn't yet made signings) start casting a jealous eye. By the time the window is in full swing, the narrative of their great window is still alive and well, but if people were to have another look at their transfer business, then they will realise it it isn't any more than average. Cracking manager though, can see him being poached sooner rather than later, same goes for the guy at QPR
  9. a winger who turns 35 next month and has played about 450 minutes of football over the past 2 years?
  10. It seems that Fadz may be showing signs of mental decline “You can’t not want to get promoted. For me, we want to get promoted." He makes Chaddy seem like a pessimist 😉
  11. Seems that the plan is to get a lot more youngsters out on loan than we have seen previously Stuart Jones' role changed over the summer and he is now also overseeing loan moves for our players ages 17-21 https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/july/09/rovers-announce-academy-restructure/ Can only be a good thing if they are getting tested in genuine competitive games, it seems at least some of our various "head of," are useful, Jones certainly is
  12. I think he might have been, At least in summer Not sure it would have made a difference after the winter window though
  13. Marine are 6th tier now (promoted last season), National League North, Atcheson is still 17 years old, decent loan move for him, half a season to learn men's football
  14. Now now, don't pick on the poor hard done to billionaires
  15. Should Rover be down the bottom end of the table? Absolutely not! But given the funding, current squad etc, lower middle table is realistically the best we can hope for, barring Dolan becoming the next Szmodics/BBD/Armstrong/Dack and an unbelievably kind run of injuries on top of that
  16. Especially when we consider that a guaranteed £9M does not necessarily even mean £9M up front. It will probably be £3M per year. Which is mental for a Prem team to be quibbling about
  17. Especially when many of us (myself included) think that the club accepted a low ball offer for Adam Wharton and could have held out for more, rather than just roll over and accept (one of) the first offers that comes in
  18. Or Rovers could haggle for an extra day, get an extra £100K or so closer on each deal, and be able to use the money "saved" to afford an extra/slightly better loanee. Either way at this stage, the new keeper is unlikely to be in place before registration cut off for Fridays game
  19. I am awaiting the day when Rovers end up with a points deduction for fielding an ineligible player because they did this and it turns out that they didn't complete the players registration 😉
  20. I don't rate him, but that being said, the playing staff already there and cash at their disposal will ensure they go up . Thankfully the following season in the Prem could prove to be even more entertaining than last season when they had Kompany in charge
  21. Yes, but he has had massive budgets in comparison to his rivals (which he will have again this season) Remember in Mowbray's last season when we were pretty much level with Bournemouth in the winter transfer window? Bournemouth spent a huge amount on the likes of Cantwell, Nat Phillips, Siriki Demeble, Keffer Moore, Freedie Woodman, Robbie Brady, James Hill, & Ethan Laird for a total of €8.04m, as well as bidding to unsettle Rothwell (and would have come under FFP scrutiny if they hadn't gone up), and sailed to 2nd place, where Mowbray brought in Zeefuik, Giles, Hedges, Markanday & James Brown (apparently for a net fee of €780k) At Fulham, he had enough money to keep hold of Mitrovic as well as signing a team full of players for a combined €37.00m in the Championship and still only managed to finish 4th, going up in the play offs. He is a classic chequebook manager
  22. Yep, plays in the same position, but offers nothing of what Szmodcis does and seems to think he is Champions League quality
