  1. yes, "only" a sell on fee is included in transfers as par for the course, and most are 15-20% on any profit. 10% of any profit is a good deal
  2. Delap will be dropped for Broja/Hirst, or moved to the right side
  3. Only a year left on his contract though, and no option of an extra year. After the job Rovers did with Szmodics, they may be persuaded to accept less up front and a larger sell on fee? According to Jackson, Szmodics sell on fee was only 10% on any profit made
  4. He has better get used to it. Pretty sure that's where they will be playing him this season. Looks like when attacking Ipswich will do a similar thing to what Rovers do, but with the left back overlapping and left winger pushing inside rather than the Rovers version where Brittain overlaps from right back and the right "winger" (JRC) moving inside.
  5. I don't think Chelsea get it either 😉
  6. Apparently they cant https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24519670.blackburn-contract-state-play-new-detail-revealed/#:~:text=Dom Hyam has a one-year option in his Blackburn,The Lancashire Telegraph can reveal.
  7. Only starting because the dingle they bought is injured
  8. and there was me, thinking that Dolan would be your pick as the next king 😉
  9. Last nights report for anyone interested https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/august/16/report--everton-under-21s-3-1-rovers-under-21s/
  10. The only way there is any chance of that happening is if Rovers agreed to something like a 50% sell on fee (and even then it would be a slim chance) Brighton bought him for just under double the price that you are quoting, and whilst he has not pulled up any trees in England, he is still only 20, has a contract with Brighton for another 3 years, and has plenty of room for further development. I cannot imagine that they will be in a rush to sell, when they know that one decent loan will see his value skyrocket
  11. I think we can also predict with a decent level of certainty that Arsenal will be 2nd, and that Chelsea will have been "proven" to have wasted several hundred million ££££s by well before the end of the season
  12. 2-1 at half time, Bloxham
  13. U21s play Everton away at 7pm, seeing as this is a PL2 game, they may even update the twitter feed. Looking at the absentees, have to assume that Duru & Tijon (maybe also O'Grady-Macken and Saadi but those would be more surprising) have maybe travelled with the 1st team to Norwich. But if they do not, click here for a live text score/scorers update on Google Apparently Its George Pickford, not Jordan (no relation) playing in goal for Everton U21s
  14. In his first few games for the club, in which he was playing from the left, Sigurdsson looked more than useful and scored a few too. There is the possibility that as last season progressed and Rovers found such a reliable source of goals in Szmodics, that other avenues of attack were bypassed/ignored in favour other the guy who was in red hot form, especially towards the end of the season when it was win or bust. That being said, I expect him to be a bench option at most this season with Dolan central and a new player on the left
  15. To pre-empt the "where do I have to be/travel to in order to watch the game tomorrow on Rovers TV" question https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/august/16/watch-our-clash-against-the-canaries-on-roverstv-/
  16. The player in the center of the 3 will be Dolan,
  17. U21s won 4-0 on Tuesday v Blackpool. Wood scoring a couple despite being on loan in Scotland since the weekend, which is odd https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/august/14/report--rovers-under-21s-4-0-blackpool-under-21s/
  18. Didn't he retire again last season because he felt he could no longer hack it in League 2
  19. From the sounds that Eustace has been making, it does sound like Dolan is the choice, although whether he is the right or wrong choice is of course up for debate
  20. Pretty sure Szmodics intended replacement (Dolan) is already through the door, and that part of the funds received will go towards him signing a new contract. expect the transfers/loans in to be a keeper, competition for Pickering, a CM, and a wide player with pace
  21. As I said in the post that you quoted, "I would genuinely not be surprised"
  22. Conspiracy theory time I would genuinely not be surprised that in years to come, we find out that the Premier League and Man City were in this together to push a soft test case through the courts which Man City will ultimately win creating legal precedent, with the end result being that FFP (or whatever it is called these days) is either abolished or drastically altered, resulting in - - No chance of the Prem being caught up in a corruption scandal a few years down the road as its all legal - Premier League teams continue to dominate in Europe with spending curbed to a lesser extent - Super league idea is kicked down the road for a few more years
  23. To be honest, there is no risk in offering someone 20 odd grand a week when we know they will turn it down because they are being offered double that (and top flight football) elsewhere. Silver lining (or hope) is that the sale of Gally was immediately followed by a flurry of incoming signings. Which given the speed that they arrived would imply that deals had been agreed in advance, but could not be completed without the funds from the sale. That is what I hope Eustace means when he said earlier this week that no deals were close (I think he said similar just before Gueye, Ohashi etc arrived)
