  1. Personally I think we will see more inertia this summer. Dolan, Sigurdsson, Forshaw & Hilton will leave at the end of their contracts, Hyam, Hedges, Markanday & probably even Vale will have their options taken up (in Vales case, probably just so a small fee/sell on can be obtained) We will probably extend Weimann and Batth for another year The likes of Batty & an injured Gilsenan will probably also be cheap enough for a new contract to be agreed The summer afterwards on the other hand will then see the following out of contract Travis, Tronstad, Brittain, Hyam, Batth, Weimann, Hedges, Markanday
  2. Also worth noting that Barrow are currently 18th in the League 2 table, and Doncaster 2nd. having won 4 of their last 5. Also, I the guy going up against Duru was a highly rated kid on loan from Man Utd (Ethan Ennis), so he wasn't getting ripped apart by a League 2 "jobber", and it was always going to be one of his bigger tests this season. Hopefully he learns from it and can improve the defensive side of his game as the season progresses
  3. Ah, but you are forgetting, Rovers always pay the full fee up front, everyone else will only be offering to them in installments, so they may have accepted the €4M 😉
  4. International spots? I assume that you mean ESC slots? We currently have 3 out of a maximum of 4 (Toth, Ohashi, Mafoumb). We have to assume (*) that based on last season Sigurdsson now holds a standard work permit having been originally brought in on an ESC (He was eligible to convert from and ESC to a standard work permit over the summer) They are for if a player would not get approved for a work permit. Assuming the 2 are true (Mohamed seems fanciful to me), Mostafa Mohamed would qualify for a permit automatically so does not take up a slot. Kargbo, would take the 4th and final ESC place https://www.transferroom.com/gbe#calculator * although we probably shouldn't think that any level of incompetence is beyond Waggott, Venkys etc
  5. Ken Sema contract cancelled by mutual consent, can play wide and left back He is now available at a price Venkys & Waggott like.. free https://www.watfordfc.com/news/2025/january/29/official-king-ken-departs/ edit - Apparently he is off to Cyprus
  6. Or someone told him off for actually saying something on his podcast etc earlier in the week, threatened to cut off his access even more maybe?
  7. That wouldn't stop them, remember the equally silly excuse of "we only receive transfer fees in installments"? The happy clappers will buy it nonetheless, as we have seen previously
  8. That was last season He was on Rovers bench last week when Pears was ill
  9. Wharton isn't registered as he is injured, but Hilton is, so your number is correct, as are the rest of your assumptions
  10. Leonard wasn't 21 when the season started, so isn't part of the 25 man squad
  11. He had a groin injury, but hasn't played much since returning to their squad, no clue if its because he isn't fully fit, or the new manager doesn't fancy him
  12. Plymouth forum seems to think it might be happening also (at least seem to think he has left their camp) https://pasoti.co.uk/threads/cissoko-leaves-argyle-rumour.131494/page-15
  13. As long as he did not play for Toulouse this season, yes, although they would need to recall him and send him back out (like we did with Markanday) Edit - just checked, he has not played for Toulouse this season https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ibrahim-cissoko/leistungsdaten/spieler/575693
  14. I do not disagree, but sensible tends not to be how Rovers are run these days
  15. We apparently have a 23 man squad at the moment, leaving 2 spaces, I can see us bringing in a wide player and then maybe a loan for a left back, before we are told that there was no space left in the squad for a striker signing (which coincidentally would have been a multi million £ signing that they would have loved to get done)
  16. I'm sure they "would like to". They would also probably "like" one of those to be Haaland 😉
  17. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/january/28/report--derby-county-under-21s-0-0-rovers-under-21s/
  18. Starts this evening for Markanday - won 6-2 - set up the opening goal and scored the 4th before being replaced at half time with the score at 4-0 O'Riordan - drew 1-1 Batty - drew 0-0 - replaced after 63 minutes with the score at 0-0 Eastham - won 3-1 - Ashton Utd are 3rd in the table, have won 5 of their last 6, conceding only 2 goals in that run. Eastham fared similarly last season in the same division at Hyde (I think they missed out on play offs on final day). Whilst I do not think he will make it at Rovers, It seems to me he is possibly too good for the league he is in, and despite his height disadvantage, I am somewhat surprised that he has not had a chance slightly higher up the pyramid. On the bench - Not involved in matchday squad Olson - won 2-1 - Likely being rested as this is a National League Cup game, either that or he may be cup tied as he played in this competition for Rovers vs Altrincham earlier in the season Bell - drew 1-1 Wood - lost 3-0 Play on Wednesday Duru - score/update - game is on Sky Sports +
  19. The U18s (or possibly U17s) are away to Derby in the quarter final of the Premier League Cup this evening. Not sure we get any updates from this beyond a full time score lost 5-1 - no news on goal scorers etc Team news Thompson Leeming Eze Davies Pates Mansbridge Dunn Leatherbarrow Vare Sargeant Joseph Subs Wolsoncroft, Kelley-Quinn, Potter, Dlamini, Higgins
  20. I thought that Elliott Jackson had just given up completely this week and gone on holiday. But he has a transfer story (kinda, but nothing new) https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24891249.kargbo-transfer-latest-blackburns-january-window-plans/
  21. You are discounting that we have probably spent less than £3M in total on all incoming transfers this season, No chance of them shelling out that much on one player
