  1. He's useless in the press because that's not his strong point. Would you ask peter Crouch to press? or Ryan Nelsen to be a ball playing centre back? you'd play to their strengths. Not every striker needs to press, and just because you can press doesn't mean you're any good!
  2. Every good striker needs confidence and consistent game time - of which he has neither.
  3. He was excellent especially against Tielmans who is no mug. Controlled it from start to finish.
  4. He was pretty prolific every time he played in the Belgian league, a move to Zaragoza didn't quite work out (I can't tell you why as I simply don't know). He's your classic target man - he doesn't want to be pressing and chasing the back line, he wants crosses in the box early and direct and we just haven't played like that. He has strength, he's just not being told to use it correctly. Exactly the same as Gallagher.
  5. I feel with Gueye we really missed a trick, He's clearly a confidence based striker. we didn't play to his strengths during any game he featured in. The fans can say he's crap etc all they like but I assume he's struggled from the first day being here. New country, New team, 2 new managers, turmoil behind the scenes, not wanted. I wonder how many of us would perform at our best doing our jobs with all that going on? Whilst checking social media and being called out for being rubbish. Wish him nothing but the best, he's obviously got goals in him, he's proven that elsewhere just sadly not at rovers!
  6. He's only played 1 game in the tournament
  7. We lack creativity and spark in the middle. We are so lacklustre and slow the majority of the team prefer a backwards or sideways pass, it will only ever get us so far.
  8. But like i say, we need a player from the top half of L1 - Would they want to fight relegation and if we want them i'm sure a club in the championship who can offer more will want them too. Hence why we need to look further afield imo.
  9. I think this is quite relevant still. we need to unearth something - we have zero chance of getting anyone decent from the UK we need goalscoring talent and fast - these players are in form and can score goals. Take a punt, show some creativity.
  10. It's one game, against Watford in the 2nd tier. it's going to be a dire game either way. it's not like the coalition are asking the fans to boycott the super cup against the 2009 Barcelona squad. Go and spend the money you would on a ticket on a local café etc. Go for a walk up Darwen tower or pendle. You're not going to miss much by not attending one game of a drab season.
  11. True, but what can you do. We won't do any significant investing but it keeps us going.
  12. All depends on AFCON i bet, I could see the Fulham boys in the Nigeria squad will be putting a word in too.
  13. I saw a rumour of Alebiosu to Everton for circa £4m
  14. That's his style of play. He is so calm etc, 99% of the time it is fine however it stands out if something goes wrong.
  15. End of the day, it doesn't matter. Do not let the opposition get in to a position where this can happen. Better defending required.
  16. However, this is why Celtic are so successful. Because their fans demand nothing less than greatness. Our fans are happy we were successful in the 1800's, 1920's and the 90's.
  17. Exactly someone who can hit the target hence why I handpicked those strikers from around the world. Not great teams etc but players who score for a living.
  18. Any excuse to get back texting the Ex Mike!
  19. Genuinely who will come to us? Say we need a striker - any in the top half of league one will probably look at us and think no chance. So then we look to the lower league one sides which then begs the question are they any good? Get a prem loan in - lightweight, no relegation battle experience recipe for disaster. Do you look at the SPL? SPL is on the up and most strikers will not move to a relegation threatened champ team. Abroad? no one from any of the top 6 leagues. Okay we will go further abroad eastern Europe perhaps? or a rogue hidden gem? Have been tracking a few that could work, in the fact they can absolutely hit the target. Aljosa Matko - Ujpest (Hungarian top flight sit 8th out of 12) has 11 goals in 18. 62 in last 4 seasons. Brayan Muniz - Indepente Medillin (Colombian top flight side) 29 goals in last 2 years. Bissoli - Buriram United (Thai premier league usually top or there abouts) 64 goals in last 2 years. Stefan Sigurdsson - Sandefjord (5th in Norway top flight last year so missed out on Europe I believe) 15 in 27
  20. If you're talking about Tronstad his yellow was worth it and surprised he didn't get another for mouthing off. Laws of the game
  21. Can Ohashi not wear goggles or something? He's forever changing his contact lenses
