Congratulations to you both, same thing happened to us following the birth of our little man last week. ? -
January transfer window 2020

I think from memory it was more that people would take him short term. Shows more where we were at that point compared to where we are now in just a couple of months. -

They did though. ? -
Brereton came on with intent yesterday. He looked determined to at least commit to his actions and looked a lot more decisive. It made a hell of a difference and his pressing of the back line led to one goal and almost another in itself. Definitely the best I've seen of him so far. If he can keep this approach and show some confidence and belief in himself then I think he has something to offer us. Down to the lad from here, we could do with him at this point and hopefully he is given a bit of a run at least coming off the bench. If he comes good at all it'll be a huge weight off both him and the club.

Comedy gold! If we all synchronise at 2300hrs and mentally kiss your feet will you reveal a name and bring back the classic 11o'clocker? ? -
Middlesbrough (A) - Match Thread

I would be inclined to go with the same lineup, JRC for Rothwell if unfit. However, a part of me thinks we might benefit from moving Downing back to Lb and putting Johnson in the middle for this one. Would love another win but feel we could be in for a draw. 2-2, Armstrong and Holtby to score is my bet. -
I truly believe that this could be a pivotal moment in our season. If we win today and put in another impressive performance (not expecting another 5-0!) rather than limping across the line, I feel we might not look back. 3-0 Rovers. Armstrong x 2, Rothwell COYB!!!

Player of the year (so far)
Feed the Yak replied to Bigdoggsteel's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Downing for me. I doubted his signing and wasn't as convinced by his debut as others were at the time. I was completely wrong, he's been quality so far. Other contenders if they pick up for the remainder are Travis, Evans and Armstrong. Dack misses out due to injury. ? -
Rovers Player of the Decade?

Dack. No idea where we would be now if we didn't pick him up when we did. Unbelievable goal tally for someone that isn't an out and out striker and a great player to watch too. Easy one for me. -

I reckon Bradley Johnson being in the team helps, he very much reminds me of a Savage type figure in the team. Tough choice picking the middle 2 now, Travis has to be first choice for me but we have 2 excellent partners in Evans and Johnson (if they can keep it up) now which is fantastic. -
Leeds (A) - Same as last year lads... kind of.

Penalty was an absolute joke, disgusting officiating all the time. -
That's enough now. The rot has well and truly set. We've been spineless since Mowbray took over and things are only getting worse. Times up Tony.

Jack Vale signs a 4 year deal. Seems worth tying down, good vote of confidence from the club.

Nottingham Forest Home

This will be interesting. On paper a very attacking line up tonight with pace on the wings and the experience of DG to lay the ball off. Could be goals here. -
If we don't choke here and follow up the Reading result with another win we will have turned a new corner. I'd go with the following : Gk: Walton Rwb: Bennett Cb: Lenihan Cb: Tosin Cb: Williams Lwb: Cunningham Cm: Travis Cm: Holtby Amc: Dack Fwd: Armstrong Fwd: Gallagher Tough to not start Graham but hard to drop Armstrong after the Reading performance and I fancy Gallagher to get his first league goal/s of the season here. Fancy the team above will be too much to handle and assured in defence. What Mowbray goes with is hard to predict, but I'll for a 3-1 Rovers win.

I'll be travelling solo to this one. Any decent pubs nearby?
-
I suppose most don't see it as an essential part of the kit. Don't see them on most shirts off the pitch these days.
-
Saw the 2nd half. We played well, looked good. Both fullbacks were impressive. Cracker of a goal by Grayson, hope he can find a way to utilise that left foot at senior level. Great closing down, centre mids (Whyte and?) looked dynamic and composed. Goalie (Fisher?) made a great reflex save at the end.
-
Firstly I'm not happy but I haven't snapped yet, I'd still keep Mowbray - he's earned some good will in my eyes. If he makes a solid centre back out of Williams that is a masterstroke. If Downing comes good that is a great move. If Gallagher can contribute like he did yesterday that's a great asset. Johnson is a beast and we've needed one for a while. Travis has come in and looked class. Cunnigham is a big upgrade. The potential is there for us all to see which is frustrating. I'd like to see Rothwell starting more for instance. However, credit deserved for getting us into this position. Hopefully we can crack on now and play with confidence. Hull is big in terms of momentum now.

Summer Transfer Window 2019
Feed the Yak replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Surely that means we're signing another Cb? ? -
Mulgrew very poor. Both full backs useless. Johnson and Travis look a great pairing. Downing has really disappointed me so far bar a few decent cross-field balls. He could have stopped the attack for the goal and should have scored himself. Hasn't added anything so far. Armstrong and Dack have looked lively although dack is playing a deeper role than usual. Gallagher has threatened to threaten. We were the better side but have a lot of weaknesses. Most can be cured with what we already have.

Half the team look great. The other half look terrible. I think you can guess who is in which category. 0-1 is unlucky but deserved in some ways.
