The infamous spring collapse 1992
simongarnerisgod replied to BRFCS.com's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
we were thoroughly depressed after the game,i did despise that leicester side, they were nothing but a bunch of long ball merchants led by that thug steve walsh and the lanky **** ian ormandroyd, for reasons that are unfathomable,we ended up getting plastered in the moorings minus our usual joviality🤔 -
The infamous spring collapse 1992

i think teams started to bully us a bit and found us out,i can recall barnsley, port vale and leicester were all big sides and they just overpowered us,newell getting injured was a massive blow as well absolutely zero similarites to today, kenny and ray did`nt panic, there was no ridiculous positional changes and despite losing 6 games in a row we did actually play quite well in them, there was only barnsley and port vale that were truly bad,if you look in the present, looking in the present,we don`t look like scoring, which is sort of a big problem if you want to get in the play offs!!! the major difference between then and now is if you look back at the vital plymouth game, would you be confident of a win under the mowbray regime??? -

id`e try it in the 2nd half for 1/2 hour i don`t think dack or ben are ready for 90 minutes yet,but yeah, the attacking side of it appeals to me,i predict the old false nine will present on saturday though😒 -
van hecke is already a class act,id`e be offering brighton brereton, dolan and anything else they wanted to get him,he`s going right to the top and if we somehow manage to sign him he`s going to bring in a monster fee a few years down the line, hopefully brightons scouts have forgotten about him😊

iv`e got a ticket for saturday, but feel unwhelmed and not to bothered about going,id`e normally be buzzing,we are in a play off spot so i should be really looking forwards to it,mowbray has reduced me to a shadow of my former supporting self🙂😥,what have we got to look forward to ,90 minutes of sideways nothingness with the hope coventry don`t score, pretty certain we won`t,prediction is a soulless 0-0 cited as a triumph and a good point by his legions of happy clappers, the rest of us just shake our heads as we fall out of the play off race🤣 -
Attendances: A cause for concern

By his own words he was offered big money after promotion to try for the double bounce and by his own words he declined it. He then spent 6.5 million on a young project signing that has taken 3 seasons to bear fruit. Then he'll be sold probably despite these owners offering him a double or treble your wages contract i was`nt aware of that, though it does explain that tony has lived in a comfort zone here from the moment he stepped through the door, only slight bit of pressure he faces is the occasional murmur of discontent from the scattering of "disloyal fans" imagine he does sign a new deal and suddenly venkys announce they are coming over and taking complete control of running the club, move over maggot your sacked, tony, here`s 200 million quid,**** the ffp get us promoted, money no object, his face would drop like a russian tank commander facing an nlaw rocket,it would be ******* hilarious,he`d be stuttering though his press conferences, snapping at everyone because the pressure would be right on him,i don`t think he`d last 3 months before it got to him purely hypothetical the above but it would be funny seeing his character change when he spent the money and still had us set up like the disorganised mess we are now,he`d probably sign mitrovic from fulham then put him out wide -

i watch a fair bit of scottish football and hedges at aberdeen was,to put it nicely, not very good, that was in his best position of right midfield as well,if he can`t cut it scotland, then he certainly is`nt going to make an impression in the extremely competetive championship with mowbray playing him out of position,a very strange signing indeed, suspiciously strange imo if signings like this are going to become the norm and a mogadon extension potentially looming i don`t think i`ll be the only one struggling to motivate my interest for next season😪 -
i 100% agree, even if it`s just a half, mowbray is going to appear pretty silly if big ben can play for chile but not for us,can`t see it happening,we`ll be hindered by buckley as a "false nine" no doubt

i dare not think about the season ticket sales if mowbray gets a new contract,it could possibly be the lowest in our history😰 -

when i was younger, every policeman was 6 foot tall,4 foot wide and looked extremely menacing, have they stopped the minimum height restrictions??? -
thats exactly where we should be playing him,let him run at full backs and back up ours,he`s got a great work ethic,he never stops running, tbh,i think he`s to small to play down the middle and not sure his tackling will hold up if you play him at wing back

swag has most likely figured he can lay off a couple of staff and save the club a negligable few quid,he does`nt really live in reality though,he only sees in pound notes, typical middle manager, tbh,id`e round up every one of them in the country and intern them, they are the bane of society,i bet swag started off as an errand boy who used to make the tea and post letters, gradually he a**e licked his way into promotion and has been a**r licking every since,iv`e seen hundreds of the cockroaches climb the ladder that way(apologies to any middle manager who is actually useful) -

on the issue of food and drink, prices have gone up and quality has gone down, swag obviously thinks the people of blackburn are stupid and hav`nt noticed, the service is a farce as well, the burger van parked in nuttall street is far superior and good value, the crux of the matter is nobody at ewood has the fainstest idea of how to run a football club and they certainly have a low opinion of the fans -

you must be like the old fellow who lived down the street where i grew up up,he used to keep all the footballs that went into his garden,he took my pink mitre sondico from 1986 and i never saw it again😰 -

god alone knows how he will set the team up,i imagine the bingo machine in which he picks his side will be spinning so fast you could use it for generating electric -
😪😪 bring me a time machine and lets get back to 1990,£1.20 for a pint of slalam lager and £3 to stand on the blackburn end😀

england home games are marketed at the middle class, who treat it as a day out and will spend exhorbitant amounts of money on souvenirs and food/drinks,the fa don`t want lads who turn up,sing, shout, voice their opinion and don`t spend much apart from a beer or two, wembley went so much overbudget they have to cram events in it to get back their outlay

where would the best area in ewood for the rail seating,id`e love it to be the riverside though it might upset a lot of the regulars there -
they left him behind in chile,i doubt he`ll play in the uruguay game as he`s definately not fit
-
aye, then what does pep mowbray do for the reading match, goes back to the same formation from the first half of the derby game,i know you adore and respect him but you`ve got to admit he`s a poor manager who patently does`nt listen to anyone around him
-
not signing a proper centre forward in january was a shocking piece of mismanagement, injuries and tiredness happen at every club, they do the sensible thing and get reinforcements in
-
thats the most optimistic quote ive` ever read🤣,you have to score goals to win a football match and since tony has reverted back to type we don`t look like scoring ever
-
to put it bluntly,id`e rather be waterboarded than have to endure another 3/4 seasons of mowbray

i think the seats are fastened back, which begs the question whats the point of having them, might as well not be there and go back to proper terracing -

he does indeed have some cultish pull over a lot of fans, the facebook and particularly the telegraph fan boys absolutely adore him, they won`t have a word said against him
