  1. How many points from safety is the trigger point?
  2. And we got in the play offs in the 80s with fewer resources than Mowbray has enjoyed.
  3. Nah, he's shite. A man devoid of ideas but full of excuses. And your own personal excuse for Mowbray that a club can't progress every year is trite. We need promotion, Mowbray stated Top 6 was the target, we are failing massively. Whether we become embroiled in an actual relegation battle is irrelevant to whether he should keep his job. And just be grateful that there were no football questions on your journo exam. 😉
  4. Verdict: No sense of panic from Rovers during winless run | Lancashire Telegraph Those inside the club won’t be unaware of the issues and mounting criticism, yet there appears very little sense of panic, at least not outwardly, manager Tony Mowbray and chief executive Steve Waggott both making reference to an ‘extraordinary’ season, citing the schedule and injuries as mitigating factors for a campaign that has so far brought three more defeats than victories. Don't forget chaps, Rovers are the only club in the EFL/PL who have had to deal with injuries and a hectic fixture schedule. Covid only affected Rovers - the other 91 clubs started their season back in early August as normal.
  5. From Nixon in the S*n:- BLACKBURN ROVERS want a stunning £25million for striker Adam Armstrong — in a shock for West Ham and his other admirers. The 20-goal Ewood Park hotshot, 24, may move to the Premier League this summer and Hammers boss David Moyes leads the hunt. Rovers think they can justify the price due to Championship goalscorers previously moving for similar sky-high numbers — like £28m Ollie Watkins, who left Brentford for Aston Villa back in September. But Armstrong’s value is affected by the fact he is a FREE agent in 2022. Blackburn need to demand a huge sum as Newcastle United are due a hefty 40 per cent of the profit. Moyes has been doing personal checks on Armstrong as he steps up his chase — but his West Ham will not get him for the £10m they had hoped to shell out.
  6. I think deep down we all know that don't we?
  7. Mowbray's certainly proving hard to shake off.
  8. Tony Mowbray says Rovers players are 'fighting hard' | Lancashire Telegraph “Yet ultimately we live and die by the results and we have to accept it, but we could have won those games, but we didn’t. “This was another tight game, could have gone either way, it ended a draw. I think we could have been sat here talking about six draws with the tightness of the games" He needs help.
  9. Cobs, buns, baps or barm cakes: what do people call bread rolls? | YouGov Teacakes? Pah! You're a bloody Yorkshireman!
  10. Eh? Of course he can suggest it, he even said in an interview a few weeks ago that he makes recommendations to the Owners. What he can't do, presumably, is sack him himself.
  11. I didn't watch it but even Beetlejuce is upset. It can't have been good.
  12. It's strange after 5 defeats on the spin he hasn't thought to give someone like Dolan a start. I say strange, I mean entirely predictable.
  13. It's hard to keep saying the same things about the team after 4 years of the same problems. The only remotely intriguing thing left to look out for is how he reacts after every defeat, and if his mutterings give any clues as to whether he sees himself as under pressure or not.
  14. So why did you start with 'Sorry guys I'm not with you on this'? What exactly is the point you're trying to make?
  15. Which is why it's better than selling a fixed asset.
  16. Sell Armstrong and raise similar capital to the land sale?
  17. Rovers' run has left Lewis Travis 'hurting', says Mowbray | Lancashire Telegraph Travis' fault now.
  18. Want to increase expenditure and drive down results? Well now you can. For the price of a family-sized Lemon Drizzle Cake you can own 'The Tony Mowbray Way - failing better'. Available Now!!
  19. So you're agreeing Mowbray was wrong to insinuate that Rovers fans are responsible for upsetting the young lads? So who are you 'not with' on this and what do you mean? Agreed. Everybody is saying he has to go for footballing reasons. Who isn't corrupt and how do you know? Why should Mowbray's character not be questioned? Where did the Lemon Drizzle cake reference come from? Lynch mob? That's quite some accusation from someone upset that TM is having his character questioned. I agree with your assessment of TM, but they are hardly 'wild' accusations when after 10 years of utter mismanagement the club have now decided to sell half the training ground for houses, and the people 'driving' this forward are people who were involved in the sale of Coventry's training ground. Rovers fans have genuine concerns and have every right to ask questions about what is happening at the club. Also, take into account how the news of the training ground broke. It didn't come from the club. I'd suggest you do the same.
  20. Why would he be looking at another job? There's absolutely no indication he wants to leave or that he's in danger of the sack. His mate is the CEO.
  21. Tony Mowbray: "I don't sit here in fear fighting for my job" | Lancashire Telegraph What a load of drivel. The comments of a coward. Trying to blame the fans for upsetting the young lads. Shameful. Try winning some games ya useless lump and then YOU wouldn't get criticised. But don't worry, we'll get to the Prem next year. Or the year after. Or the year after. Er..one day. Look don't pressure me, you'll upset the kids. Mowbray Out.
