  1. He otherwise looks quite tidy on the ball. If ball-playing defenders are what JDT wants, then this guy would tick the box. We're not getting him, though, are we? ๐Ÿ™„
  2. Unless Porteous is playing a risky game of hoping to have a blinder and give himself an extra strong card at the negotiating table. Hibs 1-down, largely because Porteous failed to win his header. Watford can have him. ๐Ÿ™‚
  3. Knock Super Atko at your peril. I like a lot of what the man has to say.
  4. Is JDT gaslighting the recruitment team by publicly stating that we've bid for Porteous? I have this overriding feeling that it won't happen. If a bid has been accepted then Porteous and his representatives are stalling for other suitors. If a club like Watford come in, I don't think we can compete on wages.
  5. Perhaps the reality of the job is setting in. ๐Ÿ˜„
  6. Very odd for him to be playing given that he knows he's leaving in the next week or so. Imagine if he breaks his leg or tears his ACL in this game. ๐Ÿค”
  7. JDT seemed quite subdued compared to his usual self. He didn't seem to be joking to me - at least not in his usual light-hearted way. Just my take on it. Here is the video (as well as Atkins' review of the game). The bit is right towards the end of the JDT interview. https://twitter.com/BBCLancsSport/status/1617122143703031811?s=2
  8. JDT is not impressed with the speed of the recruitment at Rovers if his post-match press conference is anything to go by. He seems quite dejected. When asked if he thinks it'll go down to 31st January to get business done: "Yeah, but not 2024, huh? Hmm... Not 2024. Hopefully this year." Without the usual joking and laughing he sometimes does after saying such things. Will JDT tolerate this every window while we're still in this league?
  9. There have been far worse culprits than Kaminski this season. He is so exposed by our defence and midfield. I can forgive him a couple of mistakes when there are bigger areas of concern.
  10. It's ludicrous to suggest Kamindki should be benched. For who?
  11. One mistake from an otherwise excellent goalkeeper at this level and you think he should be hooked from the team? Give over. ๐Ÿ˜†
  12. He bundled him over after being initially out of position.
  13. A decent first draw of the season, all things considered. Thought it was set in stone for us when both centre-backs got yellow cards in the first-half. No room for risks, and although Wharton got away with one or two, Ayala couldn't get away with that one. No worries. Up to 4th, saw a good resilience about us, and we'll hopefully have a few new faces in the building for the next league game at home against the Pie Eaters.
  14. Sol Bamba talking about Ryan Porteous potentially moving to Rovers: โ€œI think it would be a good move for him. Obviously Hibs fans wonโ€™t be happy to lose him but I guess he wants to come down to England and test himself. โ€œBlackburn would be a good club for him. Their captain got injured in the last game which is probably why their interest is a bit more now. โ€œHeโ€™ll be a big miss when he eventually leaves the club. But it would be a big move and good move for him to go to Blackburn.โ€

  16. Definitely. It is irrelevant, though, because a Dyche-type appointment would never happen under these owners. Their mandate is to play attractive football as a sustainable Premier League club. I don't think those two things tally.
  17. Believe me, my view of the game is probably a marginal one, as others on here will probably testify. ๐Ÿ˜„ I think there is a difference between "looked a bit off" and still picking up points than getting hammered by three or four goals regularly. All teams have their "problems". Every team in the league would pick your "problem" over whatever it is they currently have.
  18. I don't know. I get the overriding impression that the players aren't happy. The team spirit seems non-existent. It's worrying.
  19. Edun pulled from the starting line-up at the last minute. Probably off to tie up his Charlton loan. I'm surprised he hasn't been given more of a chance here in the left wing-back role which Pickering cannot fulfil.
  20. Even Tomasson admitted that the second goal took it out of us. How mentally weak is that? A quick-fire goal would have put us right back in the game. Perhaps we didn't deserve to be two goals down at that point, but instead of feeling sorry for yourselves, you're supposed to dig deep and fight back. There was still plenty of time left on the clock to do something about it. Instead, the players threw in the towel.
  21. No they won't. We were supposed to get a redemption against Preston at Ewood. We got hammered 4-1 with another gutless performance. The kicker is that Preston then went on to have an awful run. Not too dissimilar to Wigan's fortunes after they defeated us with ease during another gutless Rovers performance. The writing is on the wall based on evidence so far. I'm absolutely dreading watching you lot come to Ewood.
  22. No. But if I had to guess... It's drawing the opposition in by passing it around at the back and stretching them when we get through their press. We are just devoid of ideas even when we do punch through the opposition's press. We haven't got the personnel or pace to do it.
  23. Then Pickering is being used wrongly because we rarely see him getting forward. His cross for Dack yesterday was great. We need that repeatedly during every game. Once or twice is nowhere near good enough. You only play a wing-back system if you feel that the wing-backs are going to create chances. Ours rarely do.
  24. It's depressing that somebody of your good standing is suggesting this as an answer. I think it boils down to something that was mentioned previously - that JDT is trying to implement a style of football that this lot simply cannot execute. JDT is never going to get the funds to bring in the players to do it. He's got to be more pragmatic. Unfortunately, I think both him and, perhaps more so, GB, are obsessed with a style of play over results. They believe results will come once our style is fully implemented. That's never going to happen, is it?
