  1. I'll do the numbers in a bit. I think you'll smash that figure because friendlies probably attract a good number of walk-ons. Wish I could go! 😩
  2. The club said tonight that he isn't ready. Ruling him out for the season is just silly.
  3. Just pointing out that you've got 11 goals from preseason in tonight's squad. I'm not saying they will score a hat-load tonight, but hopefully they will.
  4. Rankin-Costello (x3) Hedges (x2) Hyam Szmodics Weston Gallagher Travis Dolan All scorers in preseason so far in two games. Were you looking for more?
  5. Tomasson said he didn't want to risk Adam Wharton in Austria, and you'd think he would only be involved in one of this weekend's games. Calm down, sir!
  6. Don't think so. Seems his fitness has been well-below par since moving from Plymouth Argyle. Clearly nowhere near ready if he isn't involved today or tomorrow.
  7. So around 8,500? That makes me feel slightly better about my estimate. 😄The press releases saying "around 8,000" must be out of date. Strange.
  8. Some quotes from Tomasson after the TSV Hartberg match: It sounds like he is not happy with the transfer window so far. Imagine if he'd been through some of our previous ones?! I'm not too sure what he is expecting, however, when it was laid out early on in the window by Broughton that we had to sell to spend. Perhaps he was expecting a sale or two already in order to bring in strikers, and it hasn't happened. Perhaps this is why we're doing a "fire sale" on Phillips just to get some sort of funds in that can be spent, but Tomasson perhaps would have preferred to get shut of certain other players rather than a future prospect for £3m. It's hard to tell. The next couple of days might reveal all.
  9. My seat map estimate is over by several hundred. The only thing I can think of is that the seat map has even more "sold" seats in the saleable areas than have actually been sold. I thought I'd accounted for all of that. I did notice a chunk of 150 seats being "sold" in one day, which is a bit unusual (what a sad thing to have to say), and I'm wondering if those are giveaways to Totally Wicked staff and whatnot, so aren't counted as sales. Other than that, I don't understand why the difference is so vast. I genuinely thought we'd do better this summer than last summer given the season we just had, even if wast just be a few hundred or so.
  10. I'm gutted that we couldn't go to Hartberg. We were all set, but one of our cats had a problem that blew my budget for the trip out of the water due to the vet's fees. Hopefully, next year, they come to this region of Europe again. 🤞
  11. I'd like to see Markanday stay as part of the first team squad rather than go out on loan again. I only really saw him against Hull on his unfortunate debut, and last summer in preseason friendlies and the Carabao Cup, but he looks lively. I bet he'd have offered more than the expensive loanee, Sorba Thomas. I wonder why he hasn't been getting a look-in, though.
  12. If the first few friendlies are anything to go by, it looks like Batty and Weston are the next potential prospects to knock on the door of the first team squad, or perhaps push for a loan move.
  13. It sounds as though it's not Mowbray's choice to let Batth go, judging by his recent comments to the media. The Sunderland board appear to be going with a strategy of youth, and perhaps their finances are tight enough that they need to balance the books by freeing up wages of older players that will have no resale value.
  14. I'm more interested in the moral duty to do something. Everybody "speaks out". It's easy. The hard part is doing something, which most can't be bothered with.
