  1. What annoys me about Chelsea's spending is that they buy players they don't need. They have a brilliant left back in Wayne Bridge, but now Roberto Carlos is on his way, there's Bridge's chance of regular football out the window. Veron is another pointless signing, as was Geremi and Crespo and Mutu have hardly turned out to be lethal goal scorers in the Premiership.
  2. Souness said a couple of weeks ago, that he thinks that Douglas' best position would be right back, he just hasn't had the luxury if having the chance to play him there.
  3. I'm in the middle of reading a biography of Robert De Niro. Very good indeed, it goes some way to expaining why he is so odd. Michael Moore's Dude, Where Is My Country? is excellent and well worth a look.
  4. The Guardian's match report said the same thing about Cole and in the transfer news, quoted Souness as saying that a few players will be leaving and they will be finding out their fate in the next week. Yorke should definately leave, but not Cole. He has scored 11 Premiership goals this season and he and Stead are forming a good partnership. If he and Yorke leave that leaves with an extremely young strike force, with Jansen not being 100%. This would mean that Souness would have to bring in a striker and he has said that he is only looking at English players, when there are plenty of top quality foreigners who aren't pre-Madonnas. As for the other players that are getting the boot, Todd would seem likey, Babbel and Andresen were leaving anyway, but who else?
  5. We have to win this one to end the season well. If we win can we move up the table at all? This is also important, because we will have a more respectable league position and get more money, which can be used to strengthen the squad with. 3-1 to Rovers
  6. I'm quite disappointed, because I thought that he has been one of the best players this season and was unjustifably dropped when Amoruso returned. Two more defenders will be need now. One to fill Todd's place, and someone to take over from Short, who won't be playing much next year. And with Babbel also leaving, maybe McEvely will get a chance to break into the first team.
  7. Big Same is also stepping up his interest in Dado Prso, according to SkySports.com. I always knew that he was good, but just as a target man, but against Chelsea I thought that he was outstanding. Great control, can take players on and crucially scored. Surely we must be able to challenge Bolton for these types of players. I wouldn't be too interested in Rivaldo, but I'd love Prso. Personnally, I think Sam has done well, by bringing in quality players for nothing and has shown that it can be done. Souness should see what he has done, and do likewise, when you consider that we will have next to nothing to spend on players. Off the topic, Celtic are interested in signing Robert Vittek from Nurenberg. He is a great talent and I think that we were wrong to let him go. We should have got him and got rid of Grabbi there and then or even Yorke.
  8. ENYA?!?!?!?!?!? Mate, I think something has happened to you since you've left Australia if you're listening to Enya. Don't listen to her, but she was in my house! I was listening to the Goo Doll's album Dizzy Up The Girl, today and it is brilliant. I've also got abit of Creed on the go as well as Robert Plant's Fate Of Nations.
  9. I'm listening to a band called Story Of The Year. If you get a chance download a song called Until The Day I Die, it mightn't be everyone's cup of tea, but some people will love it. I'm also listening to abit of Enigma.
  10. I think that it would be a disaster for us to get rid of Souness now, because there wouldn't be anyone available, who would be good enough to keep us in the League. I think that Souness can keep us up, but that depends on how he gets the players to respond to the situation we are in. If we do stay up, then I think we should see how we do next season, before making the decision of whether or not Souness should go.
  11. I myself went through a bit of Limp Bizkit stage in my formative 'proper' music years. I even made the mistake of buying the appalling Significant Other. The only good thing about that album was the artwork. Having listened to it again recently after a long gap I must say that it the cover is the only good thing about that particular effort.
  12. I just live here, don't support the team. My father is Irish, I have an Irish passport, I'm Irish. We have a very good rugby team and football team, so have alot to shout about.
  13. Well done to England for winning the World Cup and I think that any other country had one if for the first time, the same hysteria would surround it. However what does annoy me is this absolute love and idealiasation of Johnny Wilkinson. He is without doubt a world class goal kicker, but whenever he does the thing he is best at, commentators are off the seats shouting his praises. ITS WHAT HE DOES FOR GOD SAKE! At the same time, I think that media have pumped him so much because they realise that without him, England wouldn't have won the WC.
  14. Things will change, however I'm still concerned abot Souness. Sky Sports reported that Souness was so angry that he wouldn't do an interview. Tony Parks has said that he is at his lowest since coming here.
  15. My brother downloaded aload of Audiovent stuff which is pretty sweet. The lead singer is the brother of the lead singer of Incubus, another quality band. I want to get the Clipse album as well as the new DMX one. The new Deftones album should be great, if that song Minerva is anything to go by.
  16. I though that that album was pretty God damn good.
  17. Got some Audiovent on the go. They are pretty sweet.
  18. I'm listening to a whole mix of stuff at the moment, some System Of A Down and Linkin Park. I'm not big into rap but I think N.E.R.D are sweet as are Clipse (the dudes who rap on Justin Timberlake's song "Like I Love You"). I'm getting into Soundgarden and some Nirvana as well as Placebo, Incubus and Default.
  19. Couldn't believe it. Watching it on Sky from France, with my Dad. I thought that Rovers were in a different class last night, infact I have never seen Rovers play so well. Due to the fact that I'm Irish, my Dad brought me up to be a Celtic supporter, but I also chose my own team-Rovers. If I had followed my Dad's lead I would be supporting Sheffield Wednesday. But last night I was 100% behind Rovers and will be in two weeks, when for the first time me, my brother, father and scouse friend are going to Ewood Park for the match. Got tickets in the Walker Stand so I'm well chuffed. The only downside to last night apart from the loss, was the fact that to all of our wonderful passing, defending, movement and football in general, was the lack of an end product. I thought that Yorke was very good, Ostenstad put the effort in and Cole didn't look fit. Even though I think Cole and Jansen would be our best partnership, I think that in the next game either Ostenstad and Jansen or Yorke and Ostenstad should start because I think that we need a physical presence up front. But we need to find the killer instinct infront of goal. If we play like we did last night at home, we will win. A bit off the topic, me and my brother are thinking about coming over for games more frequently, by flying to Liverpool from Belfast, then getting the train down to Blackburn. I would like to know how close the station is to Ewood Park? Can't wait for the 14th!
